He Was A Quiet Man 2007 DVDRip XviD-VoMiT

It has been a while since last VoMiT’s release but they are back now: and surprisingly, they do not release another low budget horror but actually a movie with some potential. He Was A Quiet Man is a drama with certain comedy scenes which stars Christian Slater and mainly Elisha Cuthbert in the main roles. 8.3 points at IMDB looks fairly promising. Be sure to download a syncfix too, the original release is a bit out of sync.

Bob Maconel (Christian Slater) is about to have a bad day. Another eight hours of sitting in a dull grey cubicle, ignored by his co-workers, existing in a world where he feels completely out of sync. On this particular bad day Bob crosses the line from potential killer to inadvertent hero and in the process saves Venessa’s (Elisha Cuthbert) life. This invisible nobody saves the object of his desire only to have her ask him to end her life.

    -first extract the syncfix from the rar file
    -second out the avi in the same folder as the extracted syncfix patch
    -third run the sync.fix.bat file

    If you can get virtual dub mp3 to work on your mac than select load processing settings under the file menu and choose one of the vcf files extracted from the patch rar file. than load the avi and save it.

    it’s waaay overrated on imdb, if you look at the structure of the scores you’ll see it has mostly 10s, most of them probably from crew members. see it if you’ve got nothing better to do, the beginning will seem promising, the end is a bit unexpected, but some of the (love) scenes between almost made me VoMiT :) slater’s performance is great, and wh macy is good as usual

    The “DVDRip” of this movie by MODiFY is just some guy that downloaded this and applied the patch or fixed the sync issues with vdub. also the bitrate has been lowered so the quality is worse. download this and the patch because its the same thing.

    @21

    The scene prohibits from making a nuke if a patch has been created to fix the problem. if the release by MODiFY would be scene it would get nuked for being an invalid proper.

    1 star out of 5

    From The Times
    December 8, 2007
    He Was A Quiet Man
    Director: Frank A. Cappello, 15, 95min
    Stars: Christian Slater, Elisha Cuthbert, William H. Macy

    There is the germ of a cynical comedy inside this derivative picture, but Cappello isn’t sharp enough to do more than poke fun at obvious targets and coax desperate attempts at career-redefining work from the hapless leads.

    January 6th, 2008 | 17:30

    So far there is only one single movie with Christian Slater that I really enjoyed:

    TRUE ROMANCE (1993)
    written by Quentin Tarantino (whatever that means)
    CAST: Patricia Arquette, Christian Slater, Michael Rapaport, Val Kilmer, Dennis Hopper, Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt, Tom Sizemore, Christopher Walken, Samuel L. Jackson, James Gandolfini

    That was actually the first Slater movie I have ever seen. So I was really expecting something the next time, and the time after that … But every other Slater flick that I remember was disappointing.

    I haven’t seen this one (He Was a Quiet Man) so far, though.
    Maybe this will be the second good Slater flick. Sounds like that.

    January 6th, 2008 | 19:22

    @79 Paul

    Download the syncfix rar. Extract the all files into the same folder you have the movie in. Click (or double click) the sync.fix.bat file. The program vdub.exe will open and fix the movie for you. This takes a few seconds to a few minutes depending on your computer. Enjoy the result.

    January 7th, 2008 | 00:49

    @87 Jimmy

    All the fix files have to be in the *same* folder as vmt-quietman-xvid.avi when you run the bat file. Also, make sure you have and run the right fix. There’s one for the sample and one for the movie.

    VoMiT, or someone may want to to re-encode this. The sync fix works if you’re watching the fixed avi, but the sound goes out of sync again when I burn it as a dvd.

    btw: great movie. thanx VoMiT!

    I don’t know what you use to burn your dvd’s, but make sure you check the audio settings and see if it has an option to “not fix” audio discontinuities. It may or may not.

    Works perfect with ConvertX when you tick that option.

    Unbelievable performance by Christian Slater. The next Jack Nicholson (look at Jack’s earlier movies).

    This is one reason I left the Corporate World, and turned in my suit for my own consulting firm. To many crazies out there, not to mention cruel people who will do anything to climb up the Corporate ladder.

    Great plot,…a must watch for many reasons.

  97. Rekrul
    January 8th, 2008 | 02:31

    Why is it that the sync fix works when you use the included copy of vdub.exe, but not when you use the latest version from the official site? Since I already had a copy on my system, I figured I’d just extract the files needed for the fix. The resulting file was even more out of sync than the original. When I used the exe that came with the fix, it worked fine.

  98. davel49
    January 8th, 2008 | 04:41

    Sync fix works fine to view in VLC player, but if I burn that fixed file even if I ” check the audio settings and see if it has an option to “not fix” audio discontinuities. It may or may not. Works perfect with ConvertX when you tick that option.”
    The resulting file from ConvertXtoDVD whether option ticked or not, or the unfixed file with option ticked or not are all out of sync, usually worse then the original. Anyone else have any solutions? Any word on another release?

  99. Goddess
    January 8th, 2008 | 05:56

    Complete fix for burning in ConvertXtoDVD:

    Load the movie file.
    Expand “Source Details”
    Under “Stream Count” – click ONCE on #2 Audio to highlight it.
    Click again and a little box will appear for you to offset the timing.
    Type in: 400ms and press ENTER
    Click outside of that area for the details to show up.
    It should end up looking like this:

    #2 – Audio: mp3, 48000 Hz, 32kb/s, Offset 400 ms

    That’s it. You’re done. Click CONVERT.

    It took my boyfriend and I a bit to figure it out but it does work properly if do that exactly and use those numbers.
