Harsh Times 2005 WS DVDRiP XviD DvF

As I predicted yesterday, Harsh Times comes in a decent quality with DD 5.1 sound. I have seen the movie and I suggest you to see it. Christian Bale brings out a fantastic role. IMDB gives it an 7.4 with more than 2000 votes. Some of you will not like it cause it’s kinda strange but I think that Christian Bale is a great actor, he did great in “The Prestige” as well.

The film stars Christian Bale (”Batman Begins”) as an ex-Army Ranger who finds himself slipping back into his old life of petty crime after a job offer from the LAPD evaporates. Freddy Rodriguez (”Six Feet Under”) plays his best friend and Eva Longoria (”Desperate Housewives”) plays Rodriguez’s girlfriend. It marks the film directing debut of David Ayer, who is the creator of “Training Day” and the writer of “The Fast and the Furious.”

From the creator of TRAINING DAY comes HARSH TIMES, a hyperrealistic story of friendship, loyalty and ambition set on the extremely rough streets of south central L.A. As gritty and unsentimental as TRAINING DAY, HARSH TIMES follows two lifelong friends as they each try to rise above the violence of the streets yet are continually dragged back down by the world in which they live.

Since coming back from the Gulf War, Jim Davis (Christian Bale) hasn’t been able to get his life back on track. He still feels the residue of that far off desert on his skin, still screams in his sleep from visions he just can’t shake. He has burned through his savings waiting for an offer from the L.A.P.D. that hasn’t come. He tells himself that if he only had a job, everything would turn around – he could marry his devoted Mexican girlfriend, Marta (Tammy Trull), bring her back to the States and settle down.

But until something else materializes for Jim – some other way to help his country and not die of boredom at some desk – he’ll just chill with his best friend, Mike (Freddy Rodriguez), also unemployed. And Mike’s longtime girlfriend, Sylvia (Eva Longoria), whom Mike helped put through law school, wants an equal, not a dependent, so he too finds himself on the job hunt. Jim offers to help Mike find a job, but instead they end up cutting a swath of chaos through the mean streets of South Central, looking for trouble – just like when they were kids. In a misguided quest to get their lives together they joyride, get high, plan for their glorious future and start trouble wherever they land.

After the L.A.P.D. job evaporates and Jim gets a call from the much more complicated foreign office of Homeland Security, Jim and Mike’s misadventures take on a darker edge, one haunted by violence and the echoes of combat Jim can’t seem to shake. They no longer need to look for trouble – it’s everywhere around them.

As the city that was once their playground now seems to press in on them, each choice Jim and Mike make will not only test their loyalty to each other, but their ability to survive the mean streets they hope to leave behind.

If you don’t include the quite early presentation at the Sundance or Toronto Film Festival, this movie isn’t around that long (regular release date USA: 10 November 2006).
And from September 2005 to Feb. 2007 it’s not 2 years, unless one is ret*arded and doesn’t know how to do the math. So who is posting sh*t?

Hey GMS, this movie just came out in dvd, it was recorded in 2005 and date set to release in theaters was in nov -2006, so please, shut the f**k up, alright?!

I’ve also been waiting for a good release of this movie, Christian Bale is awesome, and has been acting great in movies like, American Psycho, The Prestige and even Batman Begins (who I thought were gonna really suck!

Just hope the torrent will be uploaded soon. it wasn’t on torrentz.com.

I don’t see why they shouldn’t post before theres a torrent, it’s nice to know about new releases and get a small info instead of having to search by yourself and not everybody depends on public trackers…
And although I shouldn’t respond to GMS: This movie was not even released where I live, so I don’t see any other way of getting it.

everyone forgot the machinist where bale was basically a walking skeleton. the guy’s a fuckin serious actor, hope the bale-nolan collaboration (if it doesnt end) eventually gets him a historic role the way scorsese did for de niro in taxi driver. what’s scorsese see in leo anyway? i mean leo’s acting is good but that teenagey voice of his, irks me a lot.

  36. Cian
    February 27th, 2007 | 21:05

bale was so thin in the machinist that it was disgusting just to look at him. now thats dedication to the trade.

    Loved this movie.
So what if the slang makes you sick, have you been in the latino sections of LA lately? Have you seen some white boys trying to act hard in the inner city
The slang fits the area and the culture perfectly.
The movie in no way glorifies the language or lifestyle, if anything it condemns it and promotes the idea that people should drop the bullshit and have a family.
Sorry you can’t see that from your ivory tower.
