Well this looks like a rare game that can either be really good, or really crappy. I must say I didn’t play it yet, but from the description it looks fun. So try this and if you are dissapointed, there is always Oblivion or Gothic 3 (although you don’t have miniguns there, and this game has..).. ;)

Based on the novel of the same name by Strugatsky brothers this non-linear 3D RPG features a branching story with four endings in this tale of the Kingdom of Arkanar. One of the gameplay features is the interference of two epochs in the game universe the medieval and the alternative future This provides the peculiar variety of different weapons and armors - from swords and bows to miniguns, from full plates to force fields - and equipment like binoculars and night vision goggles at characters disposal.

The active combat system also includes a party system and damage modeling on the hero where the character can be wounded badly which will diminish his attributes and require long recover, and even lose a limb or be decapitated by a strong attack of the opponent. The whole world from the book is being carefully created anew under the supervision of one of its demiurges Boris Natanovich Strugatsky.

Features:

  • The combat system features many different combos and special attacks (stunning, disarming, etc.) provided by some abilities and special weapon types.
  • As player controls only the main character. The rest of the party is managed by orders.
  • The volunteers traveling with the main character can obey or disobey orders depending on the form the order was given in (strict order, persuasion, intimidation, etc.), while the mercenaries will obey any order given in the proper form.
  • The Kingdom of Arkanar is divided into many locations. The party will travel between the locations using Arcanum-styled global map.
  • The movement speed will be influenced with the world relief. The party can also ride mounts to move faster. The new locations can be revealed from dialogues with NPCs.
  • The trading mechanism features selling and buying items for different currencies (universal currency, irukanian gold and so on) or bartering them if both sides are satisfied with the offer.

  • DirectX 9.0c-compatible 128 MB video card

    doesn’t look to bad I have oblivion but I’ve done just about everything including the expansions,I guess its time for a new rpg even if its not a huge game like oblivion.

    Anyway. I has come across non-marketed/not-widely-known games that blowed my mind. One game was Nexus: The Jupiter Incident. (Could have been “accident”) I hadnt heard anything about it or it’s developers. But it was one of the best Space Strategy/RPG games I’ve ever played.

    So I give almost every game a shot.

    ok guys forget about the mini image just use the procyon clone with daemon tools pro 4.10 or above and mount in ide then import your saved profile from the reloaded release and u can save just fine

    Ive got a slight problem with this version. Have no idea if its a bug but.. with the “Baron Pampa de Bau” hunting quest
    pampa keeps saying afterwards, im not in good shape, lets try again. Ive tried numerous things, nothing helped.
    Now im wondering, is it a bug? or has it something to do with a DVD protection? Ive read on the comments of the other
    version from reloaded that they implement these traps so you cannot continue with the game cos you didn’t buy it.
    So.. did anyone pass that point and can clearify how i can do that quest? :P appriciated.

    Same problem that cheze, I have already kill the 13 boards in Pampa quest with 10 seconds left, and still says that I am not prepared or something like that. Please, does anybody knows what to do with pampa’s quest? My weapon make 53 points of damage.

    you should go to the left when you exit the castle and kill 2 guards ,so no more bores will be braught by the guards
    then kill all the bores and you are done my friend

    Everyone that has a crash problem needs a graphics card capable of pixel-shading. Update your hardware to play. Same goes for Sins of a Solar Empire.
