Happy St. Patricks Day!

Its a bit late if you live in Europe, but Happy St. Pattys day! Today is the “real” national day of Ireland (although I realise it was celebrated on the 15th in Ireland this year), also known as St.Patricks day. Even though nobody from the rlslog staff is Irish, I decided to make a St. Patricks day theme for all of you who are. Hope you enjoy the day and that your hangover is mild tomorrow morning! Raise your Guinness up high! Cheers!

Notice: try pressing CTRL+F5 if you don’t see these crazy green colours. :)

Ireland did not celebrate on the 15th, the church just moved Patrick’s Day mass to the 15th so it wouldn’t clash with Easter week. The parades were all on today in Ireland, and the drinking was all today, so don’t worry! :)

And we don’t call it Pattty’s Day here, it’s Paddy’s Day!

it’s just slightly strange that here in england it is almost frowned upon to celebrate our national day (st georges day – not that most people would know) but st patricks day is celebrated to the nth degree.

    how strange…

  49. MelC
    March 17th, 2008 | 22:57

thats the english, sticking their noses where it’s not wanted – they like to berate the amerikans for their imperialism but forget that the english wrote the book on taking over other countries and stripping the assets.

al dul3ley – celebrating georges day isn’t really celebrated because there isn’t hundreds of years of culture behind it, wheras patricks day has been celebrated for a long time.

A story about Saint Patties Day……

Last St. Patties day I went to an Irish pub in Baltimore and got completely hammered (being half Irish and all.) Then only halfway into the night I went out back to take a piss (bathroom was occupied) and no sooner did I turn the corner a Black dude came out of no where holding an empty 40 oz. bottle of St. Ivies and hit me in the face with it. I hit the ground obviously, and watched as his 2 friends went through all my pockets. One of them was going through my jacket pockets and kept saying “Don’t get up, you hear!” I kept saying ” I can’t!” cause I really couldn’t. They ran off with the remainder of my beer money and left me there. Luckily my friends found me soon afterwards, and helped me clean up. We were all drunk so we decided it would be a “good” idea to storm around the streets of inner city Baltimore drunk, white, and covered in blood at 3 am in the morning; in an attempt to find my assailants. A couple blocks down I though I had seen one of the dudes who robbed my get out of this Honda Accord parked along the street. Anyways long story short…I broke the car windows in and was getting around to cutting the tires when a older Black lady stormed out of her townhouse screaming at me ….yes, it wasn’t the right car : /. Soon afterwards I was arrested at the scene and spent the rest of my night in Central Bookings with 10 very pissed off Black dudes and a Mexican dude who was puking all over the place. That was my St. Patties day.
    THE END

Moral of this story…..don’t piss in dark allies, I guess.
