Hank Williams III – Damn Right, Rebel Proud (2008)
This is a country release, but it’s not your usual honky-tonk line-dancing kind of stuff. Hank III has a very unique sound, that I think a lot of people out there will enjoy. If it sounds interesting, check it out.
Shelton Hank Williams III (December 12, 1972) is an American musician. He is sometimes credited as Hank III or even III. The three is often represented by a modified version of Raymond Pettibon’s Black Flag logo.
The grandson of Hank Williams, Sr. and the son of Hank Williams Jr, both country music legends, the younger Williams’ music alternates between somewhat traditional country, and a more aggressive music that touches on punk rock and elements of various heavy metal styles. His music is difficult to classify concisely, but has been described as hard-twang, cowpunk, altcountry, hellbilly, and honky punk.

I love his dad and his granddad’s music. His music is.. ok. His singing… Is horrible! I do hope he gets better as time goes on. But so far he did not inherent the Williams voice.

This album is great! The webrip is all Ilistened to for about 2 weeks straight.
Cool album cover.. which doesn’t match the music in any way. I understand country is big in the US but I don’t get this music one bit.. It’s just corny and simple..

@ Martin, it’s actually not really country, it’s more country with a punk twist to it, his album covers by the way, always have the same feel as does this one!

He played metal for years before country fame. Check out “Assjack” – He always plays two shows, honky tonk first, and then heavy metal/thrash. He also played with Phil Anselmo in Superjoint Ritual for a while.
