GLoBAL have just released a much anticipated game for the Halo fans out there, its Halo Wars which is a Real time strategy game that is set 20 years before the first original Halo game. Personally i cant play RTS games on Xbox360/without a mouse and this game is only due out on Xbox360 so that means no PC release (Maybe in the future but nothing yet). Region free for all to enjoy!

A strategy game based on the Halo universe, Halo Wars immerses you in an early period of the storied Halo universe, allowing you to experience events leading up to the first Halo title. With the guidance of Serina, a spirited artificial intelligence (A.I.) persona, direct legions of UNSC soldiers, Warthogs, Scorpions, and more, each group having its own strengths and uses in battle. Adventurous commanders can also call upon ancient Forerunner technology, if they are fortunate enough to find it hidden throughout the battlefield.

In campaign mode, command the armies of the UNSC warship Spirit of Fire, with familiar and new UNSC units in its initial encounters against the Covenant, an alien coalition threatening to obliterate mankind. Covenant forces are also waiting for you to lead them into battle in multiplayer skirmishes via the New Xbox Experience. Call upon an arsenal of new and familiar Covenant units such as Grunts, Elites, Ghosts, and even Scarabs to defeat foes on the battlefield.

    well its just stupid to believe you can get the same feeling from a real rts like Supcom or starcraft with a controller.

    It gets dumbed down, its that simple. You can never match the speed and precision of a mouse for giving directional orders on a 2d map…

    I would love 2 know how the hell you put this on DVD and make it work on the 360.

    Anyone who obviously does this care to explain via a website (easy tutorial would be nice)

    also, i guess u have to hack the firmwire, does this disallow LIVE and can u get caught?

    @Matt , just google xbox360mods
    you need iextreme 1.5 firmware to get it working
    and this firmware allows you to go on Live , but you can still be banned for using it, there is a 1% chance ;F (well it could be also 100%)

    This game has the new security exploit detection from microsoft. If you are running any firmware that has modified the read speed of your dvd drive you will be banned. Do not play this until release date and only if you have ixtreme 1.5.

    While Id agree with you, just look at the history of disc drive console emulators like PCSX2. They have been working on a PS2 emulator for years and so far this is the best theyve got. Not that the computer cant handle these games, it just requires a tad bit more programming saviness than oldschool cartridge console emulators did…

    Also, I heard they built the controls for Halo Wars specifically for the Xbox 360 that was said to bring the PC's domination of the RTS market to an end (which is why a port to the PC is highly unlikely). I took this with mountainous piles of salt, but I suppose if they want to make arses out of themselves, they can be my guest…

    You pc gamers complaining on this post about the 360's ability to build a rts are such a nerdy lot. Consoles gaming is basically built for gamers. PC gamer for uber nerds who play WOW and other things that turn you white and pastey and end up with doughnut eating emo girl friends.

    I think the whole Halo should be put to rest now. Yes it's a great game on Xbox to Xbox 360 but Microsoft need to move on now and start on something new. Anyone for Killzone 2 :)
