HALO 3 breaks through 1 million preorders
Pre-orders for Microsoft and Bungie’s Halo 3 have surpassed the one million mark in North America. With three different versions of the game due on September 25, Microsoft is expecting the Legendary Edition of the game to sell out on release day. “What we’ve experienced is nothing short of phenomenal,” said Bob McKenzie, senior vice president of merchandising at GameStop.”Halo 3 has eclipsed many previous records and will prove to be one of the must-have items of 2007.” Some of America’s biggest brands are supporting the release of the Xbox 360 exclusive, with Pontiac, Burger King, Mountain Dew, 7-Eleven and Comcast all offering various forms of cross-branding.
“This September, Halo 3 will push videogame entertainment into the forefront of mainstream culture,” said Chris Di Cesare, director of creative marketing at Microsoft. “Teaming up with some of the world’s strongest and most recognisable brands is trailblazing new paths and cementing video games as big entertainment on a par with major event films, and is a testament to the excitement and anticipation intrinsically linked to Halo 3.” And what about the scene preorders? Vitality, Reloaded or even Razor1911? I would go with the Razor, they can’t miss such a release!

Just to make it clear, the game is ONLY coming out on xbox 360 NOT pc, therefore only xbox 360 release groups will be trying to crack it!

Honestly im not even the slightes interested in it, despite the hype around it. Its just another FPS in my eyes. Halo should have been the end, but no they let a huge opening in it which really sucks. The game is much too American in my eyes, just one look at master chief and u know why. Metroid Prime 3 is far superior, huge interaction value with the environment, a focus on the good adventure and a real progress in the FPS/FPA genre.

I wish someone in the mod community would use the X3 engine to make a freespace 3 game. Freespace 1 and 2 were good examples of how to make space games. Let’s drop this halo crap and focus on something that is worth everyone’s time. If there are any modder’s out there, make a FREESPACE 3 mod for X3.
Halo 1 was a good game, halo 2 sucked, and halo 3 will have outdated graphics and the game will suck anyways cause it no longer will be on a space ring, but on actual planets.. I say just give up on the halo series cause the company killed it, and make something else.

console shooters are a joke, I never liked the halo series, its overrated, nothing that PC fps hasn’t done already, half life, Counter strike and unreal tournament and quake are a few games that plays exactly like halo but was out on PC ages ago.
