Halo 2 Repack-Razor1911
About 45 minutes ago Razor 1911 pre’d a Repack of Halo 2 in which they royally fucked it up the first time round about three days ago. AERiS already released a proper but Razor have got all sorts of reason as to why it should be discarded (look at NFO). So this is the deal as i see it, if you already got the original Razor release use one of the two patches to replace the original startup.exe and everything should be OK, if you got the AERiS release i think your going to need to download this Release because they stole the crack and they some how messed it up so it wont work (according to Razor), or you could wait until somebody nice posts a link to a crack only. Sorted!
I have already commented on the Razor mess up but this repack should have really been released on the day or day after the initial version which would have saved all this hassle, but sometimes stuff like this happens i guess, especially when unknown nothing groups like *cough AERiS* try to screw over respectable groups like the people over at the blade. The nukers are going to be doing there thing with the scene rules for a while but i think its (almost) safe to say this *should* be the final release and you *should* be able to install and play it with no problems… I’m not a great fan of the Halo series to begin with but i know that this is very popular game so i’m sure lots of you will be glad to see this issue finally resolved to allow you to get your game on. All that’s left is that XP hack…

if ou have the original release the crack is not the problem… the problem is getting the game to install.
so many modern and better FPS and everybody’s talking about Halo… really, it’s not that good.

Funny that the next M$ OS ‘Vienna’ is meant to come out in year and half anyway. I think Vista is like Windows Millenium, a stop-gap to test out some things, till the real, refined OS is unleashed hot on it’s heels. Since XP is going to be supported for the near future, and there’s fuck all games for DirectX 10 for the moment anyway, and those that are will probably have DirectX 9 support as well, well I’ll just wait till my next comp upgrade in a couple years.
Hmmm…the said that they cant release *A SMALL PATCH* for previous release…but what did iNDUCTiON? They released *A SMALL PATCH* for previous Razor1911 relese! Where the truth? Nowhere even on the scene!

first of, afaik they are trying to emulating DX10 on XP
EMULATING .. guess how good the perormance will be.
second, halo does NOT require DX10. It is an XBOX Game, So with a little tweaking i am pretty sure you will be able to get Halo2 working on XP just fine.

Did you EVER hear of the word RESPECT? dickhead, rzr1911 owns you in every skill you could imagine. They released so many good games and are still THE best group around in the game scene. So have some respect, your just a lamer poster and without them you wouldn’t even have the chance to post this.

Kaptenmange: I you would have read the earlier comments or possibly even the nfo or post you would know it’s Vista Exclusive. No XP patch has been released yet.

and for the people that would like to use it on xp, direct x 10 will come for xp. It’s just a matter of time
Enough people are allready hacking/reverse enginering direct x 10 and there are some POC’s to be found.
And of course “respect?” (post 26) knows razors nick and the group members, oh hang on if he did then why would he be here and downloading from a public torrent tracker, getting his release info from RLSLOG as no offense but if you have connections and/or even know any of the razor release group you wouldn’t post here nor would you be using torrent.

for all the who has the loader problem, what u need to is this.
1.extract the iso on my drive
2.extracted the loader.exe & ‘wow.exe file into where i extracted the iso
3.go the run command, type “cmd”
C:\HALO 2>”C:\HALO 2\Loader.exe”
Useage: Loader.exe []
C:\HALO 2>”C:\HALO 2\Loader.exe” startup.exe
the game will pop up after. then follow the nfo notes.

I can get the game to install correctly, and have done all the steps detailed, I run the loader from the cmd window as stated above also.
But I still can only get to the ‘return to sender’ chapter, and them get told to activate the game.
Why? I thought that this had been cracked by the best guys at doing it?

Yea, I’m used to a crack being a method of bypassing the serial protections on a game among other things.
I’ve tried in vista with the razor crack and also in xp with the wow loader. But both yeild the same result for me:
The game loads theres a nice background and ‘press any key to play’ (or something like that) and then i get the xlive sign in box. It promts for cd-key I put in one i found on the net.. and sign in with my live ID then it says the key is invalid. Is there some secret trick thats everyone is hiding?!
I mean, why bother downloading this torrent when you can just get the game from an online store with no doubt faster download speeds…
I also thought that being outside of the USA might have a impact on the way xlive works in relation to this crack.
I have seen one game before that wouldn’t install on my computer untill I changed the time settings on my comp to canadian time. It makes sense to me that xlive might have regions, like say dvds do.

postup that is the xp patch, it works for some people, but as I mentioned earlier it doesn’t work for me when I don’t enter a real CD-key.

I am trying to run this through XP, i have the XP patch, but again when i load the loader.exe, a cmd window appears than disappears. I have read through these comments and some have exactly what i am asking but i’ve tried to open a cmd prompt and run it through there, but no luck, i am not a complete newbie, i’ve been doing this for a couple years but im having troubles,
anyone that would have patients with me, possible IM or email me with some steps opr advice , this would be greatly appreciated, it’s hot that i want to play Halo.2 really at all, i just get extremely frustered when i cannot complete such an easy task.

If you cannot run the loader try to install the vcredist.msi from the redist directory of your Halo2 DVD first. It seems like the loader needs some runtimes installed with vcredist.msi….
