New problem:

Everything works fine until i start new game. Game starts but I can see only the numbers telling me energy left, flashlight power and movement keys. The screen is completely black…I can move and I hear Alyx coming but i dont see anything. Can somebody help me? Nobody reported this problem before…..help!!!!

Video card is Ati radeon 9600 with 128 MB. I played episode 1 and worked fine!

Bloody hell, I'd experienced same problem played with hl2 ep2, configured shortcut on…\hl2.exe" then should add "steam -game ep2". It's so confused, what was steam game ep2 to be add? and Where it come from? None files in install folder there's such as ..-steam -game ep2!

Anyone can help me please..

hello i have a problem
i started the game ande i get e pink and black screen with weird icons i press nieuw spel(new game)it's in dutch xD and i i click on star nieuw spel (start new game) it doing nothing its just go back to the menu … what is wrong ?

I had problems adding the -steam -game ep2, like many of you, but I figured it out.

1. Make the shortcut.
2. Right-click the shortcut and select properties.
3. In the box besides Target, add -steam -game ep2 at the end of all the text in the box.

So the text in the Target box should look like this

“C:\Half.Life.2.Episode.Two-Unleashed\half-life 2 episode two\hl2.exe” -steam -game ep2

I am new to this too, but it works.

Let me make it more clearly…first…
1) I install this WinRAR
2) Inside the hl2 ep2 folder there was a unl-ep2.rar, inside that folder “unl-ep2.rar” where there are SteamEmu.ini and hl2.exe.

THE PROBLEM WAS!!!
How to create shortcut on hl2.exe and add -steam -game ep2?
When I try double click the hl2.exe inside unl-ep2.rar, after loading…there was an error say “Setup file ‘gameinfo.txt’ doesn’t exist in subdirectory ‘hl2′. Check your -game parameter or VCONFIG setting” What should I do?

Anyone know where may I find patch for this game (english version)? No other, but thiss (detonation version) does crash constantly (and also a lot more bug).
