UNLEASHED continue this wonderful night of game releases with a cracked copy of Half Life 2 Episode 2. No need for me to go into description of this series since I’m sure all of you have heard about it. This release might take you a while to download since it comes in at 4.32 GB.     hi any one else having peoblems with the grafix?in certon spots in the game its like there is stuff missing and the grafix are messed up but only in a few different parts.also im having trouble at the part where you have to take down the chopper no matter how manny times i shoot it and what i shoot it with it wont go down could some one help me out.im not sure where else to ask this cannot find any help forums.

    exacly you must reset modem so you have to do something. I set my torrent to download and then I came back 3 weeeks later to find out that is was downloaded. Then game waits for about 14 months for me to have time to install it and play.

    For all those who have problems with unpacking archive. You unpack .rar but use latest WinRar. My friend had problem with older winrar version. He installed new and it worked. Then as it is written in .nfo just put create new shortcut to hl.exe and add -steam -game ep2 like this:

    “C:\Half.Life.2.Episode.Two-Unleashed\unl-ep2\half-life 2 episode two\hl2.exe” -steam -game ep2

    What can we say about Half.Life.2.Episode.Two.FIX.READNFO-ViALUK? Dlled it last day, installed and havent noticed nothing new in gameplay or functionality of HL2EP2 => This release SUCKS?

    About the error.

    The reason for it is a bad unpacking of the rars.

    You MUST unpack using the .rar file, not the .00 ones etc

    i downloaded the unleash version.

    when i run the game however.. i reach the start menu.. and when i press start new game.. i am not able to start any game..

    Crashing may be due to video drivers and the need to be updated. Or memory problems you need 1 gig at the min

    OK No matter what I tried I can’t get it too Work.
    I get the mount App error

    Tryed Added the shortcuts wit the -steam -game ep2 like 30 times Nothing
    Tryed the Fix nothing
    Tried puttin it into Pacsteam Nothing
    Extracted it from the .rar not the .00’s countless times nothing
    Tryed clickin on the normal hl.exe and i get a error gametxt missing…so I addded the gametxt where it needed it be and guess what “MOUNTAPP” error agn GREAT =]

    Could it be the files I get are possible FUked up?

    quality game
    had no problems on install or getting game to run
    games looks loverly
    and quite hard
    last levels rock hard
    only problem is its a bit short
    was just getting in to it
    looks like they have left it open
    as the credits come up half way through a story line
    so there must be a episode 3 coming

    ok, i have tried almost everything out there for this release.
    i’ve tried the renaming Target thing countless times.
    i’ve tried the fix from ViALUK many times also.
    my drivers are updated and my PC totally equipped to handle such games.
    so, i cant figure out what the problem is….and it makes me sad/mad…

    I’ve got the UNLEASHED release…
    My problem is I can start the game just fine - I have renamed the link and everything but:

    When I press new game in the menu the chapter selector pops up, but I cannot select anything. I can’t start a new game! I’m really lost for ideas, anybody got a clue how to fix this??

    It’s the same problem as # 104!!! Please help us!! thanx

    I have downloaded this release and have played it all the way to the end. Although it is completely playable, I did notice some bugs. They are: several missing textures (replaced by purple), animations are sometimes replaced by standing idle with arms out by sides (very obvious during first advisor scene), secondary ammo is not displayed in HUD, and I can not receive health from medics. Also, developer commentary is sometimes cut short a few seconds. Not only have I experienced similar bugs in other steamless half life games, I read of others having these problems on this release. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    i couldn’t get the game started either, it was showing the original missions from hl2, but once u clicked on a mission it wouldn’t start…..downloaded the vialuk fix (google it), ran the start.bat file & everything works now..hope this helps

    For those of you that have had problems with starting the game.I also had this problem i solved it simply by taking the . out from the end mine looks like this…..
    “C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\My Documents\Azureus Downloads\Half.Life.2.Episode.Two-Unleashed\half-life 2 episode two\hl2.exe” -steam -game ep2
    ^^ this works i had it like this before….

    so as you see i just removed the . on the end and now it works fine :)

    It worked perfectly for me! Windows Vista and Unleashed’s release. I just had the whole thing unrared in a folder and created a shortcut. My shortcut target looks like this: “E:\Games\Half.Life.2.Episode.Two-Unleashed\unl-ep2\half-life 2 episode two\hl2.exe” -steam -game ep2 . No period or anything at the end.

    I downloaded this twice. The 1st time I had no errors in the RAR’s (5GB), but game was missing lots of files and was getting the mount error. Downloaded a 2nd time from a different source, this time was double the size (DVD9). Seems to me the big problem was the one of the sources got messed up in the raring process.

    you get the mount error from extracting from wroung rar and not apliying the fix

    ok guys, im pretty sure i know how to fix it.
    go through all your rar files until you find “unl-ep2.rar”
    if it has a number where the .rar should be, DONT extract.
    only extract from that one and then rename your shortcut.

    I got a problem with the advisor scene in this old farmhouse. Alyx unplugs something on the console I cannot see (missing textures, I guess) and then nothing happens. I think I have to to do something at the console, but what?

    i have the same problem with textures missing and people standing around idle. reading comments on piratebay show others have the exact same bugs ingame. seems like the release is falty?
    also commentary mode doesnt show any “comment symbols” for me ingame.

    hey peeps
    for all of those who have the MountAppFilesystem() ERROR. thingy
    i found a solution that worked for me and several other ppl so it must be it! (havent tried for half life 2 episode two yet though, only portal)

    go into the game folder where the shortcut is supposed to be and open with notepad: SteamEmu

    read down until it says: “MountCacheManual = 400 something and change it to MountCacheManual = 405

    in the end it should look like this:

    MountCacheManual = 405
    ;With this you can manually mount cache files, but you will need the CacheID to mount optional caches.

    tell me if it works for you cause here theres no problems

    FOR ALL OF YOU THAT CAN”T GET IT TO WORK…

    This by far isn’t the first time i’ve done this… so don’t even begin to try and flame me…

    When starting the game, using my shortcut with proper addition per .nfo… it would give me an error.. reading the error I was having a problem with shader9somethingorother.dll file.. so.. I did the directx unregister/reregister dll fix.. no go..
    More examination into this file on steam and 3 reasons were related to either a 64-bit system.. so add the -32 on it.. no go there..
    OR WMI corruption.. so I did the fixes to correct that.. still no go…

    So I said screw it… and simply reinstalled windows.. and of course.. as I knew it would.. it ran perfectly fine.. still had the original extract and shortcut on another drive… and it worked fine… sooo..

    basicially it was a corruption either somewhere in my directx or WMI or somewhere with windows… and it sure wasn’t nvidia drivers cause I reinstalled my forceware 93.71 and it runs fine on 6800gt card…

    maybe a quick reinstall is needed on YOUR system… (I needed it anyways… had been about 6 months and damn my desktop had tons of shortcuts.. now and nice and clean.. .. except for HL2_EP2 shortcut.. )

    Okay got it fixed. This one has more action. I love the car ride.. The jeep in hl2 sucked but the car in this is awesome. They kind of have the same sounding engine though.

    I am also having this mountappfilesystem() failed error thing i know there is fixes so far but i have unpacked it through Winrar and i have also taken everything involving steam out. I got the Portal release to work but i have tried everything on here any suggestions i have been messing with it for about 4 hours and no matter what i have tried it hasnt worked yet. so any help would be appreciated i appologize again because there is so many fixes on here so any help would be appreciated.     I unpacked the rar correctly using the only the file you guys specified. It’s about 8.59gb total. I tried the fixes, changning the steamemu, dir name and nothing works.

    Guys: Tried the fixes, changing the steamemu, dir name, correct unpacking with latest version of Winrar, more than enought power on pc.. still, NO GO! F*CK IM PISSED!

    Yah the above “fixes” may be working for some but I like others on here have properly followed the directions to run this game to no avail.

    The Mountapp error was the same thing that happened in Portal and changing mountcache model from 428 - 405 worked for it. But it does not for HL2.

    So here’s hoping someone knows what’s up.

    I wish people would read the entries and follow directions. I too was getting frustrated ’til I read them and saw that you HAVE TO EXTRACT FROM .rar, NOT .00! OR .29!!!! OR…well, you get the idea.

    But uhh…about those missing textures and idle NPCs?

    I extracted from .rar and the game loads up but when its loaded instead of showing the menu, it crashes and says I don’t have permission to run ep2. Did this happen to anyone else?

    For thouse who are haven probems with the The Mountapp error im guessing if you have gotten portal-unleashed to run im asuming that it might conflict with half life 2 ep2 unleashed cause i dont hear enyone playing portal b4 hl2ep2 saying they have solved it for thouse who are trying to fix i would say i’ve experence the same error and still havent solved it i did all of they above and gotten nothin but a hemroyd over none sence that dident involve it but yea enyways for thouse who solved it send me a message or you can reach me here http://www.plugoo.com/plugoo.swf?go=DEX6B521VWQ

    I try to play this game, but I can’t get past the starting.
    It gives me some hex addresses and then it says “The memory cannot be read.”

    Please help, I really want to play this.

    Tejas How much ram do you have I git 1 gig and it crashes some time. The memory gets maxed out.

    For thouse Who are haven problems with the MountAppFilesystem() failed: errer all i can say is if you played portal-unleashed version you wont beable to play this game cause i think whats going on is when you get the MountAppFilesystem() failed: error after doing all of they above stuff it still wont do a dang thing my best guess is find out if portal had mayed a regestry or somthin if it did delete it and see if it will work never tryed it but hay it might be the solution enyways you can contact me here http://www.plugoo.com/plugoo.swf?go=DEX6B521VWQ

    got it working here goes…#1 create hl2ep2 folder wherever you want…#2 unpack .rar into this folder….not any other numbered.rar #3 unpack fix into the .rar created folder…#3 change the steamemu.ini file so that the SteamAppsDir = C:\hl2ep2 or whatever your installation path was you DONT have to change the 428 in this you do in portal NOT IN HL2 EP2 also no need to create a shortcut in hl2ep2 just run from the.bat file that was created from the fix i used the vialuk fix…there you go hope this helps…peace

    just to clarify #3 unpack the unl-ep2.rar ..then apply fix vlk-ep2f.rar into the folder that the unl-ep2.rar was unpacked into (overwriting when asked). follow the rest of the instructions as stated also leave the .gcf files where they are unpacked dont move them as others have stated

    to those people yelling at people to read all of the posts i have and im still having the problem and i have tried everything in here. I would like to ask you to stop yelling at people this is just a problem once we all find a fix that works for everyone and is verified it DOES work for everyone and people then keep asking “uhhh i dont know to do it” then you can complain to them all you want. im still working my best to find a fix good luck to everyone out there peace.

    This game runs perfectly =) thanks!!!! i couldn’t be bothered with the orange box was afraid that when epi3 comes out theres gonna be another “all!!!! in one package!! BUY ME!!!”
