Hackers attacked Scientology with 220 Mbps DDoS
A group of hackers calling itself “Anonymous” has hit the Church of Scientology’s Web site with an online attack. The attack was launched Jan. 19 by Anonymous, which is seeking media attention to help “save people from Scientology by reversing the brainwashing,” according to a Web page maintained by Anonymous (offline now). The attacks were spurred by the Church’s efforts to remove video of movie star Tom Cruise professing his admiration for the religion, according to an Anonymous video manifesto posted to Youtube. “For the good of your followers, for the good of mankind and for our own enjoyment, we shall proceed to expel you from the Internet and systematically dismantle the Church of Scientology in its present form,” a creepy computerized voice states in the video. Anonymous followed up this dispatch with a second video blasting the media for failing to completely report the group’s criticisms of the church. This video was taken down Friday by Youtube, citing a “terms of use violation.”
Anonymous has managed to generate a measurable attack against the Scientology.org Web site. Over the past few days, the site was hit with several DDOS (distributed denial-of-service) attacks, which flooded it with as much as 220 Mbps of traffic, according to Jose Nazario, a senior security engineer with Arbor Networks, whose company compiles data on Internet attacks. The Anonymous campaign shows some level of organization. “220 Mbps is probably about in the middle of attack sizes,” Nazario said. “It’s not just one or two guys hanging out in the university dorms doing this.” On average, the attacks lasted about 30 minutes and used up 168 Mbps of bandwidth. In the past year, Arbor has seen attacks on other sites hit 40 Gbps, or 200 times the strength of the Anonymous event.

Sigh. Rules 1 & 2, kiddies.
omg that’s all
Hitting on RIA or MPAA websites can be much more interesting
Dont know why people are attacking Tom Cruise so much for being a Scientologist. Scientology is more universal and tolerant than Judism or Islam, dont see many Scientology suicide bombers.
honestly, i have never heard about it until now. this must be one of those american-only things, and people outside of this country don’t seem to care about it…
in my opinion it’s just a religion for rich people..
I haven’t heard of it either.. :\ …*waves his tiny American flag* “Yaaaayy…”

This is the work of the Church of Scientology.
wtf is Scientology? lol
@4: dont compare Scientology to over thousand year old religions, pleeeaaaase. be serious man. the only reason they want to be seen as a religion is cause they will get tax advantages. id rather worship the spaghetti monster than a sci-fi writer gone mad. and how is scientology universal?! oh right, if you got money, you are in. thats really greaaaat ethics.
ebaums world = anonymous fyi
Imo scientology is more of a business than a religion.
They may not suicide bomb, but they are just as intolerant. They’ve been linked to blackmail, extortion, and some half ass conspiracies.
@5
They’re world wide but most countries won’t formally recognize them as a religion.
Don’t diss the spaghetti monster. Oh Spaghetti monster, Please have mercy on this one, he knows not who he trifles with.
… its a science fiction story? everybody knows it, the only person able to stop it is hubbard himself. tom.. no just no! get a clue… from this planet dude! at least with starwars “jedi” and the “force” sound fesable, but we still know “its just a story” oh and on topic… nice work anon, why not get storm to help out
yeah hit em hard!

75 million years ago Xenu brought billions of people to Earth in spacecraft resembling Douglas DC-8 airliners, stacked them around volcanoes and blew them up with hydrogen bombs. Their souls then clustered together, stuck to the bodies of the living and continue to do this today
Yep. Scientology is … great. :/

So, I guess their hosts were dinosaurs? I’ll have to check my calendar. Anyhoo he sounds like a wrathful dude
“A group of hackers on steroids calling itself “Anonymous””
Fixd.
lets try to sum up what scientology has contributed to modern culture:
-planet earth (ok, erase that one from your mind)
-some nice southpark episodes
-easy way to identify famous people who would do any stupid thing for money and “power”.
i have to say, not bad, thx.
people will believe ANYTHING
IF:
they WANT it to be true
OR
they are AFRAID it is true
@10 baddab I would take L Ron Hubbard over the Prophet Mohammed anyday who suppossed to have had a vision by fasting in the dessert for days and married a liitle girl. I thought Battlefield Earth was an okay film shame they didn’t make a sequel.
The Un-Funny Truth About Scientology
http://theunfunnytruth.ytmnd.com/
CAN THIS BE TRUE??
I found an old scientology video that talks about about hubbard (in his early years) spending a lot of time in mongolia with mongolin buddhists. Where he would have been exposed to Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism. Some of the scientology stuff sounds like obscure a/o misunderstood buddhist stuff with a good dose of hollywood, aliens and a nice pile o cr@p for flavor.
Tom Cruise is an alien, so these guys are fvcked!!!!
Scientology have secret ‘non-believer’ hitmen who tie you up and subject you to five non-stop days of Tom Cruise movies.
You can be my wingman…anytime!
@james:
really? i wouldnt take any of both, but at least mohammed’s story was “believable” for the people in his time when you take in consideration the knowledge they had.
To bad they don’t seem to be well organised, I wouldn’t mind a 40Gbits attack… If you read abit about scientology, damn some things are just sick.
Anonymous is legion. Project Chanology will pass. Scientology will lose time and money. Lulz will be had by many.

a small southpark explanation of scientology. The ep aint that great tho~
Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving cult of religious fanatics. Especially ones who believe it is perfectly okay to cheat, deceive or injure anyone they deem a “threat” to their true “faith”.
Scientology to me sounds like an after school geek club for kids. At first your impressed by their immense imagination … and after a while feel sorry for them when you realize they’re adults and that they believe all the BS that they imagine!
I “pray” for them to grow up and overcome their mental disorder
but if they do manage to get the site back up again will the hackers attack it again they should.
Any attack on scientology is good in my books
Read up on it people, or download the banned tom cruise video of a torrent site.
Wow 36 ignorant post, you people are ignorant to the facts and don’t no anything about Scientology. it is not a religion, it is anti religion. It teaches people to think for themselves. Other religions do not like this idea, that’s why you get fake negative propaganda like post #8.
44 ignorant post
Scientology is no less or more believable than the older superstitions.
Everyone coming in a spaceship is no sillier than the world being made in a few days six thousand years ago, n blokes having dinosaurs in their back yards. Women talking to snakes, or a bloke building a boat that carried every species of life (eg where did he put alla the germs – bird flu woulda either not come along and died out, or killed all the birds, was Noah a leper?)
The thing that makes it great that groups like anonymous attack em has nothing to do with their message which probably is mercenary but then so are all the others.
These guys are bullies in a way that the older superstitions have mostly gotten over. Mostly the xtians don’t have any inquisitions anymore, the muslims no longer kill all infidels; but it is official scientology policy to use whatever means necessary to attack people who criticise their religion.
The pressure they put on South Park over the mild insinuation that Cruise might bat for the other team is typical.
Websites which carry the views of ex-scientogists who have seen the light and want to warn others are victimised with legal and illegal methods until they stop.
Not everything these looneys did was bad – for example they ran a successful campaign to prevent psychiatric patients from being experimented on with shocks and having their brain cut up Pity all that has been negated by their refusal to allow others who disagree with them to exercise their freedom of speech.
A DDOS is a pretty fair way of hitting back at them – poetic justice really.

@Outsidemywindow:
You’re right, Scientology is NOT a religion, but that doesn’t stop them from trying to be. Who wouldn’t want to steal money from people and get it as a tax right off?
It’s ok to believe it, but don’t hate those who don’t; that’s ignorance.
hey guys where can i download teh video that was banned about tom cruise give me the link quick before it gets removed i will keep refreshing until i see the comment
@outsidemywindow
That is not “fake negative propaganda” 8 is reporting. They are suspicious deaths officially linked to the Church of Scientology by the police and private investigators hired by grieving families.
@47
you’re right, the stories told in the bible are out there just like the ones taught by scientology, but the difference is that scientology covers them up. they do no want anyone to know about the cult until you’ve reach specific levels. once you’ve been brainwashed they slowly let you know more about the cult. this one of the major differences between the cult of scientology and other religions. not everyone knows about xenu or that they believe you can have the power to become a god, leave your body and have all the power associated (create your own world, control it, destroy it, visit xenu house and drink some slurm, etc).
it might not be obvious and you say, so what, they hide some stuff. why do you have a problem with that? the problem is that someone can’t make a informed choice about their religious beliefs when the religion is hidden from them.
and this is just one of their many cult-like tactics that make scientology as dangerous as it truely is. they prey on vulnerable people, and exploit their whole life, and that is not right.

Scientology does have some odd beliefs, but really not any stranger than the average religion when you think about it.
If you’re a Christian have you ever stopped to consider that you believe that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your lord and master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a woman who was created from a man’s rib was convinced by a talking snake to eat an apple from a magical tree?
Sounds pretty far fetched right? Think about your own religion before you try to slam others.
u can download the tom cruise video of Scientology here http://www.mininova.org/tor/1107504
63 I don’t believe in any religious mythologies, so my anti-Scientology comments still stand. Same goes for my anti-organized/disorganized religion comments. They are all crap and anyone who believes these fantasies is a fool.
63
i’m an athiest, and my comments still stand. open your mind.
@65
There’s nothing foolish about looking for hope. that’s the basis for most religions; something to believe in. Doesn’t matter if it’s stupid or illogical. It’s when meaning is forsaken in order to pursue profit that Religion fails. Scientology is all profit, no meaning.
Dammit, Anon, you’re not Anon if you utter your collective name. We all know ebaumsworld did this. They always do all these horrible things…
Also, this http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/images/d/dc/A_VERY_SPLENDID_PICTURE.jpg

Don’t you even dare to compare those who blow themselves up with the Church of Scientology which has a sophisticated criminal activity. About those bombers you don’t know their lives, you don’t know who they are and what education they have you only know what FOX, CNN, ABC, etc. believe that you should know. It is not that I agree with those bombers (I don’t even am a Muslim), but you, America, must face it, you are the most manipulated country in the world. In Russia, Iran or China the Government force the people to do something , in the US the people are not forced, they are manipulated and at the end they do the same thing.
You must understand that the role of this Church of Scientology (and also ALL those secret societies, e.g Bilderberg Group) will make YOU, YOUR PARENTS, your CHILDREN, your friends, SLAVES on this planet.
Now, for more information about the Scientology Church read this:

Who cares about Scientology an Tom C.
Why ppl not attack RiAA??

Organized religious belief has probably killed more people
than anything else on the planet. Almost every war, suicide bomber, or mass murderer has some root in religion and being intolerant to others.
ah, i love the smell of Napalm in the …. groins?
Scientology is really a very nasty phenomenon, i have read one of the earlier introductory books and that was enough for me. In my country, 15 years ago, there was an influx of hoax religious groups, trying to infiltrate the void after the fall of communism, oh boy, scientologists had to battle with Jehovah’s witnesses and so on… it was a child’s play to see them dwindle and leave, too much disillusioned people to fall prey to these wackos. read for example the bio of Lafayette – “Bare-faced Messiah” – LRH is just a very, very sick lucky POS that succeded in goofying hundreds of other suckers and the bad thing – the very american government didn’t bother to get them at all until very late in the 70s and 80s. scary…

Having hope and having religion don’t have to be one in the same. After all, I have hope that mankind will one day put away his “childish things” and do THE RIGHT THING, the MORAL THING, because it is right and moral. Not because some holy man/woman/book says you should.
Why is everyone capping on America?
Scientology is WORLDWIDE. Just because your too ignorant to know what’s in your own backyard doesn’t make your country better than America. If anybody wants to take the “Ignorance is bliss” approach please do it quietly.
hrhrhr, block this b1tches down

No one said that religion and hope have to go hand in hand. Religion can and does breed and nurture hope; Fact.
Moral thing
Morality is subjective; as substantial as vapor.
83 ignorant post
tHAt made me laugh
next time when you decide to attack some scientology object count me in.
@90
83? That means 84-89 are valid!? Sweet; I made the cut
@XLAX
To take a line from a Woody Allen movie, morality is subjective, but subjectivity is objective.
But I must say, I find it unusual to see an organized attack on a rather major organization(or in this case corporation) that doesn’t really deface them, but only restricts access to their message. Although I suppose it’s a start.
And for those who care, the first cam of john rambo is out, russian audio english hard subs.
The funniest thing is all the scientology posts here and everywhere, theyre practically glued to their computers at home and have taken vacationtime from work to be able to troll! its hilarious!!!

@ martin
watch the episode of south part about scientology
it pretty much sums it up
I lol’ed
damn Scientology.. something weird with them…
@4: you need help.
CoS is evil. It is so on… they’ll be wiped off the net!
im not a scientologist or anything and i don’t personally agree with there views on life but thats just me, everyone here should just understand that with every religion there will be people who do not agree with it, the more people try to force others to agree with them the more hate will come out of it.
Please people you don’t have to like the religion, just tolerate it. Nothing good is going to come out of this attack, if you hate this religion so much then just write a book or an angry letter
don’t go massively flamming boards or hacking websites.
i hope i haven’t affended anyone with what i have said.
lol anon fails
I don’t get all this anti-scientolgy sentiment, its just another religion. Wiping it off the net is pointless, if people want to believe it, then they’ll continue following it, religion is spread through other methods too, e.g sermons, books etc. I think the real reason people hate it, is because of Tom Cruise, he does come across as a pain in the butt lol.
Also this attack is very counterproductive as it is giving Scientology unprecedented publicity. Maybe they are hacking themselves to look like victims of persecution. Just a thought.
LOL no more child porn transfers in the church network xD
I couldn’t care less about what religion they support but there’s something not right with these people. See if you can find the BBC program they did on this subject. Scared the Xenu™ out of me. It showed you parents whose children wouldn’t see or speak to them because they were told not to. Also how they try and dig up dirt on anyone who says anything bad against them to use against them and thats just not kosher.
LOVE Xenu
xoxoxoxoxoxoxox
I am glad this is finally happening.. As long as they dig in and continue the attacks. This will not be a easy war to win. People that worship aliens and rob people blind and brainwash there members cant be taken lightly or be underestimated.
Time to break out some Tsun Su The Art Of War. We will be generals in no time.
from page 66 of CoS staff training manual-
Example: Miss N has heard of processing. She wants some. She never did decide to want some. She just wants some. Now to ask her to decide anything about it blunts that purpose. It is a thin purpose. It quivers. Don’t ask her does she want a book or want training or want a pin or want anything else. Say only “ah. you want processing. That is a good thing to want. Be here on Monday and bring _____ funds.” That’s all. For heaven’s sake don’t sell her processing or books or alternate schedules or ask her if she can pay or anything. That want is frail at best. Don’t crush it! If she says timidly “I only have ____ funds.” say “Good. Bring them; you can owe the rest. Be here on Monday.”
Didnt this ron hubbert guy start scientology to grab tax breaks?
Trying to forcibly silence someone simply because you disagree with them is both the height of evil and invariably counterproductive. Not only is this attack not going to stop anyone interested from following this religion (”Oh, crap, a bunch of random idiots are tying up this religion’s web site, better not join that religion!”), the inevitable extra attention is going to likely draw in followers who otherwise might not have been interested.
Oh, and anyone who thinks Scientology is an “American thing” really needs a clue. Check out the German papers sometime, it’s a far bigger issue there than it ever has been in the states.
my kind of guys
Sure all of the old religions have strange and ridiculous stories, but after thousands of years of stories being revised, retold, and adapted, not to mention that society changes it’s behavior over time, the past history of religion doesn’t look very credible. Just think of that kids game Broken Telephone.
Also, thousands of years ago we didn’t have reporters or archives to save the history of man. Archaeologist keep revising history with every new bone or pot.
But Sci entology is only less than 50 years old. What’s their excuse? We’ve documented their actions from the start. They say that “protecting themselves” by attacking people who speak-out against them is their right. That tolerance is not required in their religion. Well, couldn’t we just say that our society attacks abusive and destructive cults, it’s our right?
@ # 10
Way 2 get your opinions from south park, stupid jack***. Just bc other religions are 1000’s of years old does not make them right.
If I found some cult book from 100 BC and said it was the word of god would you believe me? Then why should I believe the bible?
Did you know that by todays definition, Jesus would be considered a cult leader, and in this country(US)would be persecuted as such? Pick up a real history book sometime, you might learn something besides fear and obedience.
While I believe Scientology is a sort of scam, that does not make it any different from any of the modern mainstream religions. They just have more believers.
Scientology is multinational scam, period.
here’s something from time magazine:
http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Fishman/time-behar.html
They know what theyre doing. Any harder of an attack its most likely to be traced. Great work guys! tomology will fall!
Oh, I did not really want to write anything here, but I feel I have to.
1. It is not a religion, its a scheme to avoid paying tax
2. It is followed very closely by the German government, since they do not want a repeat of the 1933-45 period. If anyone should know what a dangerous political/religious movement look like its them.
3. They hurt people.
4. If someone said it was their religion to molest children, would you let them? Just because they claim its a religion, does not mean it is one…
5. Their military organization is called SeaOrg, black uniforms and 1 Billion years of service in their contract. (since the Thetans live forever)Islamic suicide bombers only have 1 live and then the virgins in paradise.. SeaOrg have immortality…..
6. They have been and are still on FBI’s list over potential terrorist organizations. They managed to infiltrate IRS, Hubbard and wife sentenced to jail. He escaped, and died before FBI could get him.
7. They actively work to take over corporations and to control the world by ownership. (sounds like a paranoid conspiracy , but they do not deny it..)
Most countries does not grant them religion status. But they do have “Pyramid scheme” status, Dangerous cult status, Organized crime status in several countries.
8. If it was a religion, why do they try to stop ppl that are “believers” outside the “church” from worshiping, and publish the “religious” writings? What other religion charges for their scripture? Do you find their sci/fi writers work in every hotel?
9. If there are other loony religions, should we ignore this one? Just because there are worse religious cults out there, does not mean we should allow them to “go free”.
10. Read http://www.clambake.org/
Its wrong to compare it to chistianity, anybody can be a christian, you can be broke and homeless or a millionaire, doesn’t matter, Scientology in theory is similar, but in practice only goes after money
I think it was good that they got attacked as they turn the
head of people and steal their money.
but hey that is just my personal opinion….
and perhaps that would make me bad but that is a bad I can
live with -lol-
A fun fact about scientology, L Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology was a member of Allister Crowley’s OTO Group (Ordo Templi Orientis), Crowley was the self proclaimed “Beast 666″, he was also tied in with freemasonry and responsible for many satanic groups literature etc. Habbards connection with him give a good glimpse into what scientology really is, it’s a satanic cult that brainwashes it’s members. The whole thing is based off of a Science Fiction book written by Hubbard called Dianetics. It’s about some alien things that live in valcanos and when your said their leaching on to your soul or something insane like that.
Oh and another fun L Ron Fact, he was a pedophile.
Over a hundred post of hate mongering, by a bunch of idiots that no nothing about what they are talking about.
wow so many stereotypical comments on here.
100 here, 10000+ other places, people posting because they want to know more and for a way to help. we can grow and make things happen if enough people care. Just by posting and paying attention. We are Anonymous.
Fake Judio/Christianity is the biggest con which has conned tens of millions of dollars out of gullable Americans seeing how Judism is directly opposed to christianity as the Talmod has many hateful remarks against Jesus. The term Judio/Christianity wasn’t used until WW2 and zionists use it to exstort money for Israel.

why is my preview comment not showing up?
@ 122 Outsidemywindow
It is people like you, using words meant to protect the weak to belittle your enemies, that are the problem. You hide behind words like hate mongering /religious freedom /persecution of minorities. What you do is really hateful, we just point out the facts.
I was wondering how long it would take the Org. to infiltrate this site.
Now, go to your corner and will me to silence, or try to make ashtrays levitate.
Actually my family is Anglican, I myself am a non believer. I think all religion is false. Light and energy = matter, NO GOD
I used to work at the post office sorting terminal and wed get a lot of Scientology propaganda on a daily basis. These people got a huge propaganda machine always trying to recruit people. Its a global organization as well. What makes it all the more scarier is that theres a lot of rich people involved and they have huge resources. They handle criticisms worse than the frigging taliban.
as one of the staff members allready said people outside america prolly dont care about this XD but damn, i still have to admit. its a funny thing to watch by as different factions IN US quarrel amongst themselves XD. class A drama each time.
damn straight. Scientology is a bunch of crap. If you look at all the legitimate religions that have been around for thousands of years they are open and available. What I mean is that you can go to a Temple or Church or Mosque and find the Koran, Bible, or Tanakh and it is available to anyone who wishes to read it and find out more about different religions(u can even purchase them). Unlike Scientology, where you have to become a full fledged member and sign your life away before you can even read their ’scientific’ text or find out any information about their religion, where in all other religions this information is open for the public at all times and free of charge or having to ’sign up for membership’.
This, Scientology, is just a little too fishy and I believe what these guys are doing is great and I’m glad someone finally had the balls to stand up and fight them.
@ Outsidemywindow
so that makes you an atheist? or agnostic? or whatever? an Enlightened? claiming the most of the post here are ignorant or know nothing about the matter does not help them get to the truth, nor are you likely to be given credit for your position of awareness of this situation. you’re most likely another s@cker showing the finger to the rest and not willing to help them.
Scientology is preying on people just like every other cult.
The problem with this is their pseudo-salvation, claiming the good cause of science. this is TRAVESTY in the worst possible form.
also, the forced payment for services is FAR, FAR from the position of the other religions. I say strip them off their prices and see how the whole pyramid goes down.
also America seems very tolerant to them, which i see as a very bad sign, even CNN. there should be tolerance, but to the truth, not to the nuthouse greedy con-men. pity the good idea of science leading the way got merchandised.
so, Outsidemywindow, say sth. new to the discussion, bring some real info or just STFU and go pray another cult.
hahaha…. thats funny!
The more publicity on Scientology the better. More people will hear about it and read about it and realize what a pile of wank it is.
ANON IS LEGION

Catholic Church has Opus Dei // Priory of Sion
Scientology has Levels to Higher forms of existence
Both look like cults to me. Then there is Islam. Now that is interesting, cause it doesn’t seem like a secret cult. Governments and countries are lead by Islam, that is the danger.
In the western world, governments are no longer lead by any form of belief. This belief/government-system is banned in the western world many years ago.
That being said, the only thing a belief – whichever it may be – can give is HOPE.
I’m an atheist, a non-believer, cause I find it hypocrit to believe in a book/cult/supersticion if you don;t know the truth and it has not been supported by facts.
Why should I believe a book (Islam/Christian) if I don’t even know who wrote it? Maybe there were stories added to it in a later stage. Then again, Opus Dei hides certain facts from the public so they can’t get to know the whole truth behind the belief-system.
Scientology on the other hand is more of a cult. With people who believe in something created in the last 50 years. Someone who wrote a book about a theory about human existence. Sort of Science-Fiction/Philosophical work. It is crazy to believe in this purely because you think it is the way it went down. It only gives you HOPE. Hope for more, hope for an eternal existence in the afterlife.
I have spoken,
Prometheus
darn there site http://www.scientology.org/ is back up again can some one hack there site again
@outside my window,If you dont believe in religion then quit preaching.
OK
GO anon! BTW i think they have to up their antics because the CoS website keeps coming back (anti ddos controls) and I have not been hearing this on the radio or any local media yet. Not exactly big news. They should be suicide bombing (maybe if they want media attn).
@144 Now Mr. X, why would you incite such violence? You may come from a good country where suicide bombing NEVER happens, but please don’t disrespect those who have to put up with it everyday.
Btw, I’m from a good country.
It’s not the Scientology, beliving in aliens I have issues with. I find it rather harmless. It’s the Church of Scientology that’s the problem. How they act, exploit and even threatn their own people, and those who work against them. There are cases where people have died due to the “stupidity” and reckless behavior of the cultist of this church. People who have given the church all of their money, with their lives in ruin still get “forced” to give them more ect.. the list goes on.
GOOD! scientology is screwed up! you can’t even say that it’s a friggin church!. much props to the hackers
Oh.. and the church leaders have told their followers to try get jobs in the goverment ect where they can get hold of information about people. Dig for dirt in every way possible.. as I said, not harmless
haha scientology your site down again people. because it takes long to load up then it goes connection has timed out. try going to website to see if is down
@ Post 99
>Of course they’re tolerant of other religions, how else >would they get your money? Not many people are willing to >convert and completely give up their old religion
Read their rules; It says non believers, critics may be lied to, tricked, betrayed and destroyed.
I wouldn’t call that tolerant at all.
hey people is there site down again or is just my computer
here the original message to scientology
http://youtube.com/watch?v=JCbKv9yiLiQ&feature=related
Someone said it here and they were spot on! The Catholic Church IS the BIGGEST cult there is. Great statement there.
ebaums did it lol
well. its a known secret that anonymous is a group of hackers on steroids ,and frequent the ebaumsworld forums there i said it, i hope anonymous will not attack me now, i have a dog you know
scientologists eat babies
This is the biggest sciento commercial ever – somebody is trying to crusify them.
Second would be when Cruise would be old or have cancer/some other terminal disease they will probably kill him (jesus like crusifying) to get more famous and show their new leader
No doubt Scientology is a “cult” religion. I believe L. Ron Hubbard organized it for his own profit. And today it continues to make money hand over foot. The “Church” of Scientology also controls the city government and police of Palm Springs FL, USA where they have their HQ. I’m glad to see Anonymous take on this cult. I’d also like to see them take on the LDS Church (mormons). I think L. Ron Hubbard got his idea for starting a religion from the success of the Mormon Church founded by Joseph Smith in the 1830’s. Smith wanted what many men want. Money, power, and women. The LDS Church talks of millions of “gods” from outer space, has strict rules on tithing, a strong arm conversion method, and many other practices that reminds me of Scientology. I couldn’t believe the comments some people have made. Saying they haven’t heard of Scientology terrorists, so it must be “ok”. Islam is a religion. Christianity is a religion. (BTW: Mormons are not considered Christian by the Protestants, Catholics, or Orthodox Christians. The only group who says the Mormons are Christian are the Mormons themselves) Scientology is not a religion other than name only. And that is for tax exempt status. Some countries in Europe have labeled the Church of Scientology a “cult”. (Germany being one)
Scientology has their members spend thousands of dollars to reach the “next level” in the organization. The LDS church also has a system in place where you spend thousands of your dollars for church rites. (Temple marriage for example). Of course all churches need money. But the question is, what do they do with that money? Is the church using it’s monies for food pantries, homeless shelters, or disaster relief efforts? Or is the church using it’s moneys to control media outlets (LDS Church pretty much OWNS the UTAH airwaves and the newpapers) so only “approved” messages get out. Scientology loves it’s hollywood actors too. We all know of Tom Cruise and John Travolta. But did you know there are many more celebs in Scientology? Here is a list of some http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Scientologists
Of course Anonymous will have little effect on the Cult with it’s internet attacks. But if it pisses Scientology leadership off, then I say go for it. But beware Anonymous, this is a Cult that will use any means necessary to defend itself buy going after people. Scientology has killed people before. Look at all the murders at their Palm Springs hotel HQ.
like david icke i blame the lizards

that’s the most thought out comment in this post by far!
@153 Not Stupid:
The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus. How can you say that’s the biggest “cult” in the world?
Save the Planet , destroy Scientology…
Google “Project Chanology” for those who wants to fight this evil cult.
@166
LOL. People need to take a history lesson. Christianity started off as a cult, branching off from Judaism, and finally eclipsing it through various events as the dominant Western religion.

@6: This is no religion … Its just crap. Dumb ppl are spending good money on nothing. Scientology memebers could share their ressources to help 3rd and 2nd world countries.
Tom cruise is a complete freak. Anybody with any brains would know at the beggining of there freaked out spaceship books reads, this is not intented to be a religion.
@166 Borrist:
Christianity “branched off” Judaism because Jesus was Jewish. But of course it could be argued that it did start off as a “cult”. If I was alive 2000 years ago I may look at the Catholic Church as it is now known as a cult. But I hope you can agree there is a difference between the church Jesus founded and the “church” L. Ron Hubbard founded. I seriously doubt Jesus charged people to attain the “next level of awareness”.
Whoever made the joke about P. Don Hubbard…that was very clever.
220mbps is nothing… don’t even need DDoS protection for an attack that small.
Wow…I see allota young ones around here simply arent to aware of some things around in the world, and how many actually largely harmfull for society type of things scientology leads to…I find this post, and this news of “Anonymous” very very amuzing, and helpful!…
They made Tom chairman so he can lure other famous people to the cult.. BTW.. Will Smith & his wife, John Travolta also got recruited by Tom. They trying to get David Beckham.. LOL
@169 Borrist:
Be very careful how you define the term ‘cult.’
Anonymous? Surely you must mean those hooligans over at eBaums, my good man. Why, the accusation of us participating in such a show of irrationality is simply preposterous. I bid you good day, sir.
Anon attacked scientology for the lulz, however they were promptly told TGTFO.
Christianity is a religion. Scientology is not. It is a business model who brainwashes people to pay them for expensive “courses” and other sessions to remove the souls of dead aliens from their bodies. Aliens who presumably was brought to earth before humanity populated it because their ruler had to many ppl, so he wanted a place to kill some of them. These sessions are expensive enough, but not to worry, they lend you this money without any timeframe to pay it back. Until of course you try to leave. There are guidelines or rules within Scientology which has been leaked, that essentially tells members of their “Church” that they can do literary anything they want to anyone who criticizes them, and given that they have a lot of influential members, people who criticize them usually have their lifes torn apart. They guidelines tells them they can kill too, but from what i read back when i got curious about this, this didnt happen too often i think.
That’s just the gist of it. It’s been a while since i read about it and thus i cant provide sources for this information. You will have to check it out yourself, and even if you find some inconsistencies you’ll find the gist is fairly correct.
As for hating them, i do. And anyone who has yet to be brainwashed by them probably will too if they learn what they really are.
On a sidenote, i do seem to remember it takes 2 years to re-program brainwashed ppl to something that resembles an ordinary person. Someone with even a hint of self-respect and so on.
So if they want to dismantly them on the net, they should have all our support. In the hope that they will someday be dismantled of the net as well.
All religions are just a way to make alot of money.. they spit out crap like: One badass guy in the sky.. if you don’t obey and give us money for protection.. the devil will eat your soul and rape your family. blah blah blah
All religion is brainwashing, get over it already and abolish the Fake Bible made by a conspiracy called IRS.
Well done Unknown, this scientologist guys sucks, it seems they are only interested in sucking people¨s money. All their sh*t should be exposed to prevent people from them.
You people just do not get it? any sect such as an example “Catholic church” is left alone to grow and do whatever they want will eventually become its own country that will rage war with partnership with other war mongers. This move to hack into their system is a small and important move to hinder scientologies comunication. As we speak their are people in government assisinating people that are in this group so that the growth of the group will not become mammoth proportion where then if it did exceed and grown to become popular then we would have chaos and war due to many changes that may hinder todays power.
must I go on? DO you understand the magnitude of this attack? what it will mean for your childrens children? I might sound cliche but most movies are made from small sects like this especially one comes to mind called “The jim jones movement” Only one cup of juice would change the face of history!
Archeologist find history and present it. Actors Create history and show it. One is real and the other is fictacious.
Choose wisely!
oh forgot to mention OCALA FLORIDA , right now WESLY SNIPES is being tried for tax evasion. guess who owns Ocala? You guessed it son of scientology leader “John Travolta. His father runs the Tampa Scientology church.
MY THEORY—–> 2 cents. I think they are recruiting wesly snipes and forcing him to join their cause by appplying pressure to his pocketbook.
as an atheist, scientology seems to me to be just as stupid as a lot of the traditional religions teachings
@ 185 dangerwillrobinson
“All religions are just a way to make alot of money..”
Thank God not all religions are made that way! 8~|
“All religion is brainwashing”
Interesting opinion you got there.
“get over it already and abolish the Fake Bible made by a conspiracy called IRS.”
The ‘Fake Bible’ was made before the IRS.
@189 Miles
“as an atheist, scientology seems to me to be just as stupid as a lot of the traditional religions teachings”
LOL. I guess the rest seem to you to be either more or less stupider to you??
Those who say that scientology is no different than any other religion are missing the point: scientology is NOT a religion. It never was and it never will be, except to the people stupid enough to pay to join.
L. Ron Hubbard was never all that great of a writer, and he was disappointed with not being more famous/respected/rich. He has been documented as telling numerous people “If you want to get rich, start your own religion.” Eventually, he did just that. Hubbard never believed the crap about Xenu and thetans, that was just a line to sell the suckers so that they’d paid for his training courses.
Hubbard made several claims about his life, which have been proven to be false, like that he served in the military. Much of his factual writing has also been disproved, like his recipe for the ideal baby food, which includes a mix of honey and other stuff. Children fed this “food” have developed severe health problems. Nevertheless, it’s still promoted among scientologists as the ideal food for newborns.
Scientology CHARGES for its courses and ordinary people have been cheated out of their life savings by this cult. They tell people that invisible aliens are to blame for all the problems in their lives and that if they just pay for enough courses, eventually they’ll become “clear”. This means that they’ll have gotten rid of all the invisible aliens and will never again get sick, they’ll have 100% perfect memory recall back to the day they were born, etc. When they fail to achieve this goal, it just means that they need to pay more.
Scientology was caught trying to infiltrate the IRS. They have been caught harassing and terrorizing people who speak out against them. Of course in each case, the “church” claims that the members were working on their own. It has been documented that one of the core beliefs of scientology is that ANYTHING that furthers the cause of scientology is acceptable. Anyone who isn’t a member is a “wog” and scientologists are allowed to lie, cheat, harass or do whatever they want to that person.
Anyone who disapproves of scientology is a “suppressive person” and scientologists are forbidden to associate with that person, even if it happens to be a close family member.
All members of scientology are encouraged to watch other scientologists for any signs that they might be becoming “suppressive persons”. If so, those people are taken to scientology’s own little prison camp for re-education. There they are subjected to sleep deprivation, mal-nourishment and forced labor.
When a person joins scientology, they are assigned “handlers” to make sure that person doesn’t have contact with any “suppressive persons” and that they are only exposed to the aspects of scientology that they want them to see.
Their training courses consist of “auditing” sessions where you hold onto an “E-Meter” while being asked questions that make no sense. Later, you get to sit in a darkened room, trying to keep your mind clear while two or more high-level members yell various things at you for hours on end. It should be noted that the last part is pretty much a description of standard brainwashing techniques.
Scientology is a dangerous cult that exists purely to make money.
10th – Feb – 2008 -|- Call to Action
————————————
watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrkchXCzY70
It has come to the attention of Anonymous that there are a number of you out there who do not clearly understand what we are or why we have undertaken our present course of action. Contrary to the assumptions of the media, Anonymous is not “a group of super hackers”. Anonymous is a collective of individuals united by an awareness that someone must do the right thing, that someone must bring light to the darkness, that someone must open the eyes of a public that has slumbered for far too long. Among our numbers you will find individuals from all walks of life – lawyers, parents, IT professionals, members of law enforcement, college students, veterinary technicians and more. Anonymous is everyone and everywhere. We have no leaders, no single entity directing us – only the collective outrage of individuals, guiding our hand in the current efforts to bring awareness. We want you to be aware of the very real dangers of Scientology. We want you to know about the gross human rights violations committed by this cult. We want you to know about Lisa McPhearson. We want you to know about former members of Scientology’s private navy, SeaOrg, who were forced to have abortions so that they could continue in service to the church. We want you to know about Scientology’s use of child labor and their gulags. We want you to know about Operation Freakout and Paulette Cooper. We want you to know about Operation Snow White and Scientology’s efforts to infiltrate the government of the United States of America. We want you to know about all of these things that have been swept under the rug for far too long. The information is out there. It is yours for the taking. Arm yourself with knowledge. Be very wary of the 10th of February. Anonymous invites you to join us in an act of solidarity. Anonymous invites you to take up the banner of free speech, of human rights, of family and freedom. Join us in protest outside of Scientology centers world wide. We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. We will be heard. Expect us.
http://www.spaink.net/cos/rmiller/index.html
Just read it and you’ll see why people attack this “religion”
The atheists’ posts and secular viewpoints I see on this board are missing the entire point of this entire article.
@191 Rekrul, @192 Jixx
The atheistic/secular viewpoints (particularly on this thread) see no difference between destructive cults and mainstream religions because they’re comparing them on the basis of religious beliefs when they should be contrasting them based on their social effects. IOW, their point is that Scientology is theologically no different to their secular worldview than mainstream Christianity, Islam or Judaism, which ironically is not really the point of this article. But those type of comments are to be naturally expected coming from their secular world view since anything religious is ‘lumped as one in the same.’ The problem is falsely and ignorantly classifying new religious movements as a mainstream religion.
But the real point (and difference) is that, unlike mainstream religions, destructive cults like Scientology actually condones serious emotional, spiritual and physical abuses, mental and physical health dangers, engages in ‘brainwashing,’ ‘mind control,’ ’sinister manipulation,’ ‘creation of environments of totalism,’ etc., and criminal acts, such as kidnapping, assault, attempts at non-consensual brainwashing, etc.
Hence, this is the exact reason why Anonymous is opposed to Scientology: their social effects on society as a whole. And since Anonymous is just another ACM group, they consider the theological beliefs of new religious groups to be of lesser importance.
@193 Bubba
Be very careful of how you define “religion” because there are various meanings and classifications of the term. The more neutral term, IMO, would be new religious movement.
Stupid attacks, just gives this cult of greed and deception more coverage and more victim status in the mind of idiots and ignorants.
The point of these ’stupid attacks’ is to warn the public about them.
Man, those of you defending Scientology need to get hard slap in the face . Go to youtube and listen to those Scientology ppl talk and I mean REAL people, not those that appear in BBC and crap (those guy trying to fake/hide their thing) . And man, are they super weird …. But of course, if you are lunatic and wanna join, fine
, noone will remember you anyway lolz .
u think anonymous lives with his parents. they probably didnt treat him nice enough or something?
What follows is from my web site;
http://www.vm-4-real-help.com
I’ve been active in Scientology for over 30 yrs. I’ve delivered well over 10,000 hr’s of Dianetics & Scientology councleing all from the basic books anyone can buy and check out for themselves like I did.
I guess I was different than most of you guys. Back when i came in we had NO internet to think for us we had to make up our own minds.
What you see on my site is what I’ve personaly experienced and seen and real stories from real people.
I’d suggest Read a book try it THEN have an opinion.
L8R
This is the personal web site of Volunteer Minister Jack Farmer, a 30 year Scientologist and Book Auditor
Jack Farmer discovered Scientology in 1974 in Bedford, Indiana where he picked up a copy of Dianetics The Modern Science of Mental Health and began applying it. He began auditing as outlined in the book (hence the name book auditor) and soon had a thriving field practice.
He audited a person who subsequently had his glasses changed 3 times in 3 weeks for the better after 15 hours of Dianetics Auditing. Another person after 2 hours of Dianetics auditing had a lifetime problem with a limp from Polio improve dramatically and was walking 50% better because of Dianetics.
Jack grew from a skeptic to a Dianetics practitioner and he knows the power of Scientology and Dianetics technology to change life for the better.
In July of 1974 he heard about Scientology and took his Field Group to Detroit, Michigan for professional training, then moved to Los Angeles to be nearer the Church in Los Angeles. In Los Angeles he again built up a Field Practice as a Volunteer Minister where he did book auditing, ethics handling and assists.
In 1985 he started a Computer Bulletin Board Service (BBS) called the Crusader BBS where he disseminated Scientology. He and his BBS became known worldwide for their Anti-Piracy Stance. This BBS is now Crusader Services, a web based software and survey company. And by the way, he met his future wife on the BBS, brought her into Scientology and the two now run Crusader Services. The name Crusader comes from the Portland Oregon Crusade For Religious Freedom. Jack’s BBS and now the company are named in honor of that Crusade and those who participated in that Crusade.
Jack has been a field auditor for 30 years with over 10,000 hours of auditing experience with book auditing and assists. Jack and his wife are also Founding Patrons of the IAS (International Association of Scientologists) and members of IHELP (International Hubbard Ecclesiastic League Of Pastors).
The one thing Jack loves most is using Scientology auditing to help others, as he knows Scientology saved his life and sanity and he knows what it can do for you.
@ 2005 Jack Farmer, All rights reserved
Jack Farmer, how else can Scientology deceive the people that they’re not bad? By doing good deeds.
Sorry. What I meant to say was internally bad and external deeds.
u think anonymous the one that hacked scientology lives with his parents. they probably didnt treat him nice enough or something?
Hmmm I’ve been doing it for 30 yrs NOT on staff never have been just what i read in the books and TRIED for myself and observed the results for myself soo tell me oh wise one EXACTALY what personal experience do YOU have? Ever even read a book and tried it? if so which one when and what did you do and what results good bad or indifferent as well as exactallt HOW you changed the material when you DID try it IF you did?
L8R
at the core scientology is evil. end of story.
hahahahahaahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha
My minds made up DON’T DARE confuse me with facts.
hahahahahahahahasw
End of story for YOU.
hahahahaah
ROFL! No matter how many good deeds come out of scientology or positive experience, the evil and bad things that result from it will stain your record permanently! How will you seek redemption from the Lord Almighty?!
http://www.holysmoke.org/theta.htm
I hope that’s enough facts for ya.
Hit the road Jack. Don’t cha come back no more, no more, no more, no more – HIT THE ROAD JACK!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8Tiz6INF7I
Well as i said. When I came in I we did NOT have the internet to THINK for us. Seems that part missed you compleately as thats what does YOUR thinking.
Me I check things for myself and make my own mind up. I’d guess thats a new idea to you.
Thats OK. Scientology is NOT for you. You should stay as far away from it as you can and should NEVER under any circumstances read a book on it and for no reason above all else NEVER try any of it.
Please do me the favor of avoiding it it’s NOT for you.
L8R
“Me I check things for myself and make my own mind up.”
That’s precisely what I did. I have a friend who is ex-Scientologist and he had real stories.
Charge: Murder, extortion, money laundering, theft, blackmailing, conspiracy, etc
Verdict: GUILTY! [slams gavel]
Court adjourned.
Thanks. you have JUST proved my point. (I’m impressed you had the guts to admit it, this was too easy.) You have NO experience yourself. Hearsay from others and the internet do YOUR thinking, and making your mind up for YOU.
I have NO further time to WASTE on you.
Good Bye.
ROFTL! Does it even matter if I have my own experience as long as I’ve got a credible source? Absolutely not! My friend’s testimony is good enough. In fact, it’s PROOF. I don’t need to experience it myself to know the dangers of Scientology because I already have living proof.
Hit the road Jack. Don’t cha come back no more, no more, no more, no more – HIT THE ROAD JACK!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8Tiz6INF7I
You just keep proving the same point over and over and don’t even get it. You go on others experience AND opinions NOT your own.
Sad really.
Not a good commentary on our moderen computer orientated society at all.
The worst part is you not only don’t get it you most likely never will.
Are you still here? BACK — so soon? Well anyways — JACK — it still doesn’t negate the — FACT — that Scientology is…evil. Testimony is as reliable as the testimony we have in our history text books. In — FACT — it is written my friend that historically Scientology is evil.
And please don’t come — BACK.
Sorry son saying it on the internet does NOT a fact make. No matter how loud long or how many blogs claim it to be fact.
But like I said you don’t get it and likely never will.
saying it on tv does.
Jack go to Scientology i see u if u r an scientology victim or ur childs /ur whole family. And no one here is ur son so go and let ur brain pimp by scientology. Scientology is the most dangerous “religion”, they corrupt Governments and People for their World domination. They must be stopped as soon as we can.
Once again son I don’t use the Internet to think for me I observe for myself on my own experience. Something that it’s obvious YOU are NOT willing and IMHO unable to do.
I’d suggest strongly you stay as far from Scientology as you possibly can. it’s NOT for you or those like you. Only for those who CAN make their own minds up and are capable of observing for themselves from their own experience and have the curage to do so.
Not you son.
I don’t know much about Scientology, but I know it’s evil. I can tell by its reputation. We can know something by the kind of “fruit” it bears.
So I have a few questions regarding Scientology:
1.) what’s the only thing that can show you who you really are?
2.) what ties does it have to eastern religions?
3.) What’s Scientology’s major thoughts on other religions?
You are right. You know next to NOTHING about Scientology. Except what you beleive you know from the internet.
I’ve no time or interest in trying to attempt to teach someone whose mind is already made up on something he admits he knows little about and has NO experience with.
Have a good life son. Stay as far as you can away from Scientology.
Jack, please get out of Scientology! It’s for your own good in the end. At least for the sake of family, friends and loved ones. For RLSLOG!
Here are the FACTS.
http://www.scientology.org/
Stay away it’s NOT for YOU.
Scientology preys on the universal instinctual human fear of death and grief about death. They start their attack either on the very young or people who are in a bad emotional state very similar to the way “cults” attract the downtrodden in our modern world. That is because Scientology is essentially a “cult” and only stopped being called a “cult” after having been around long enough to get powerful enough to force the media to stop calling them “cults.” Right now that transition is going on with two “religions’, The Mormons and the Scientologists. The Mormons are further along on the cult to bona fide religion tract then the Scientologist but the Mormons have had more time.
The young or those in a bad way emotionally are susceptible to brainwashing. This is especially true if the brainwasher can give something that individual need on an emotional level. Children all need to feel security from adults so that venue is obvious and those in bad emotional states are usually very alienated and the introduction of the “believers” into the intended victims life satisfies an immediate need to not be alone.
Once in the web of the religion, the brainwashing starts. There is always a great deal of DOGMA (be it scriptures or writings or books) that must be read. The most important trick however, is that the victim is told very clearly at the beginning if they don’t understand or agree with the writing, that is ok, JUST ACCEPT IT ON FAITH at first. Of course, they are later told to even consider challenging any of the dogma is the work of the Devil or in some cases (scientology or similar ideas like Christian Science) are told that the lack of faith reflex an emotional problem INTERNAL to the believer. In other words, if you doubt this you are sick (emotionally or spiritually or by influence of the devil) and that is why you doubt it, nothing to do with Dogma you might be doubting.
Once firmly implanted and doubts subdued you are told that other need this good news. Since you have benefited “so much” from this religion you are expected to go and convert others in order to SAVE them. Of course let’s consider the reasons behind THIS:
1) More people means more money coming into the religion
2) More people represent more power within the local society at large
3) More people mean more people to affirm that the dogma is true and “real”.
Are you going to get out or talk me to death?
once again you have PROVED you know NOTHING about Scientology except what you have read on the Internet which is as far from truth can can be imagined.
Please stay as far from Scientology as you can it’s NOT far YOU.
http://www.scientology.org
For those who want FACT.
Jack, this is not based on Internet information. It goes beyond the internet but is based in real life. My real life. This is based on 2nd hand experience research, first hand account research of what I know about Scientology. Personal research, my friend. It was like I was there.
The mistake you AND you friend both make is thinking THAT was Scientology. Scientology is in the Books and tapes HCOB’s and HCOPL’s Issued by L.Ron Hubbard himself. NOT someones misinterputation and misapplication of same calling it Scientology. I’ve seen MUCH of THAT and in EACH case I’ve personaly looked into there have been in writinh policies saying DON’T do just THAT.
This is why I personaly find it so funny when i see people like you ranting about scientology or what you THINK is Scientology because you wewre told that by someone who himself may very well have BELEIVED it himself.
But i will congradulate you you ARE staying as far from Scientology as you can get. please continue to do so.
Me I have lots to do and no more time to wase in here as for me it’s only been a way of killing some time in between classes, Auditing in my Field Practice and my Volunteer Minister work as well as my Computer Market Research Business. About the level of TV watching as to seriousness of endever.
Point being I’m getting buiser so won’t have time OR interest to waste any more time here.
Have a good life and i wise you well sincerly in it.

We asked and they said it is real Scientology. Hubbard is the creator of their “religion,” they said.
