Gym Class Heroes - Clothes Off (CD) (2007)

Gym Class Heroes has got to be one of my favorite bands right now, they have released a new single “Clothes Off” which you can watch from youtube. The single is from their album “As Cruel As School Children” which i think is a great album because its nothing I’ve heard before, their music has a mix of Hip Hop and Rock but is rooted mainly from hip hop. I think everybody should check out this single it’s great but isn’t one of my favorites. I recommend getting the album from here or go buy it, you will enjoy it!

“Clothes Off” is the fifth single from Gym Class Heroes’ third album, As Cruel as School Children. It features Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump, although the song doesn’t give credit to him. It was released in June of 2007. The original hook for the song is from Jermaine Stewart’s 1986 single “We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off”. Rapper Mase also recorded a song with the same chorus on his album Welcome Back. British pop punk artist Lil Chris is to release another version of the song sometime in 2007.

Sort of like a mix between Black Eyed Peas and Outcast but with a little more Soul/ R&B to it. The “rock” part is minimal. I listen to most kinds of music (Death Metal, Classic, Hip Hop…), but this is a bit too mainstream and adds very little to the music scene. In my opinion. :)

Tech-9, you expect all bands to add to the music scene? over half the ones out there are all the same, so your orginality expecatation couldn’t be farther off. Just because they are popular doesn’t mean you have to hate them.

I’ve been a fan for quite some time now. I’d love to find a torrent that has all of the singles in one, or at least all of the bonus unreleased songs.

As for Tech9, your are an idiot. Just because a band makes it on the radio and Fuse doesn’t make them completely mainstream. I’ve been into the indie scene forever now, and have watched some of my favorite bands hit it big even after I knew them years before anybody. Instead of acting like you are some kind of music critic, why not just enjoy music for being music-not hating it for not being underground.

Mike, why don’t you use P2P or maybe even a site like albumbase.com, which I highly recommend. I have never ever under stood why people use torrents for music, the speeds do not compare for share sites, or even a good P2P like soulseek.
Also, I greatly dislike GCH, maybe the is because hip hop is vile music to my ears.

personally, i love this band, being from their hometown and growing up just around the corner from the lead singer.

and to call them “hip-hop” is kind of biased, theyre almost un-label-able. they do it all.

    @ 5 & 7
Listen guys, maybe i was a bit unclear. You may think i’m an idiot for not liking this stuff, but i certainly don’t think you’re idiots for liking it. I don’t hate Gym Class Heroes, and i don’t hate music for “not being underground”. Did i say i only like non-mainstream groups? Did i say mainstream groups suck? No and no, i didn’t. I didn’t know you were only allowed to comment stuff you like!? I was only sharing my opinion, just like A.J. and everybody else here. If you wanna call me an idiot for doing that… then i guess we’re all idiots. ;)

albumbase.com blows!! Ya once you sign up you can download free albums but at like 30kb/s?! I get MUCH faster on torrent files? Also they try and make you sign up for some lame text message service, fuck that… Wow its going to take me an hour to download an album.. SUPER

Technically, this isn’t a discussion board. It’s for comments and if you really wanna discuss something more deeply go somewhere else. We don’t (or atleast I don’t) need any unnecessary flooding.

this band is horrible. the melody takes little thought and are the lead singers style becomes very annoying. seeing pictures of the band makes me wonder why the staff at their group home let them dress themselves (for those uninformed about the cognitively disabled i am calling them retarded). and the lyrics sound like they were written by a horny 10 year old.
