Green Day fucking kicks ass. So what if they sold out on the old scene of punk and went commercial. The truth of the matter is that they are a bad ass band and their music is truly aesthetically pleasing to the human ear. They can be whatever type of music they want. I hope they never stop putting out good albums. Fuck the nay-sayers. Green Day is the best in my book.

How many rockers back in the day of the “hair bands” wore makeup? A whole lot, so I’m just assuming a majority of you fags bashing Green Day are no older than 19.

Fuck, look at Ozzy Osbourne, he where’s more eyeliner than Billy Joe or Tre Cool, yet nobody bashes him.

Let me just name a few bands where if you listen to their first album, then their current album, you’d go “what the fuck???”

Blink-182, New Found Glory, The Offspring, Sum 41, Yellowcard etc.

And if it wasn’t for the sound changes, All you bitches who complain 24/7 would start complaining that all their CD’s sound the same. IE. ANGELS AND AIRWAVES.

I’m disgusted reading some of the comments by some of you assclowns.

EMO FAGS? How the fuck are they emo fags? PLEASE, everytime someone makes that statement, I call them out on it and they can NEVER EVER defend their statement.

If it wasn’t for American Idiot, there probably wouldn’t be a Green Day right now. Back in 2002 they were on the verge of splitting due to the unsuccessful album sales.

Now that they decided to take THEIR punk in a new direction, all of a sudden their emo?

The Used is emo. Take a look at their lyrics. Hell, I don’t even think half of you know the true meaning of an emo band.

Green Day is NOT emo, all you fuckers are just mad because they finally make a successful album like “Dookie”, and just because it’s about war, (like many of their punk influences), now THEY’RE selling out.

You people are dumbfucks. Honestly.

If you hate Green Day so much why do you bother opening this page and wasting time writing about them. Dont you have anything better to do.
Just because they’re successfull does not mean they’re not punk. Since when is there a “rule” about being punk.
punk is about not following rules and sticking to what you believe is right.
They’re grown ups, There was a war going on and they sang about what they believe in, why shouldnt they. They have the power to make their voices heard and they did.
American Idiot was a “punk rock opera” nobody said it was pure punk. Singing about war does not mean they’re not punk. Hell The Clash sang songs about war. Does that mean they’re not punk ? no! so why do Green Day have to be labled that way.
