Green Day – Transmissions (2007)

Another great music scene group KzT makes dreams come true for many fans of Green Day. Authors of numerous anti-Bush hits strike back with their new album Transimissions, which isn’t actually that new: it features some old tracks from beginning of this band, mainly from Woodstock 1992 and 1994. If you want to listen a real punk rock, this is a must have – you can’t really blame them for being too commercial in that time…

GREEN DAY Transmissions (2007 UK 22-track enhanced CD album featuring 13-track from a WFMU radio broadcast recorded during 1992, plus 5 bonus tracks recorded live at Woodstock ‘94, also includes CD-Rom footage of the band performing ‘WhenI Come Around, ‘Geek Stink Breath’, ‘2,000 Light Years Away’ & ‘Welcome To Paradise’, the CD comes housed in a hardback book style sleeve complete with in-depth track-by-track analysis of every Green Day studio album).

Green Day is an American rock band formed in 1989 comprising three core members: Billie Joe Armstrong (guitar, lead vocals), Mike Dirnt (bass) and Tré Cool (drums). Green Day was originally part of the punk rock scene at 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, California. Its early releases for independent label Lookout! Records earned them a grassroots fanbase, some of whom felt alienated when the band signed to a major label. Nevertheless, its major label debut Dookie became a breakout success in 1994 and eventually sold over 10 million copies in the U.S. alone. As a result, Green Day was widely credited, along with fellow California punk bands The Offspring and Rancid, with reviving mainstream interest in and popularizing punk rock in the United States. Green Day’s immediate follow-up albums did not achieve the massive success of Dookie, but they were still relatively successful. Its 2004 rock opera American Idiot reignited the band’s popularity with a younger generation, selling 5 million copies in the U.S.

“If you want to listen a real punk rock, this is a must have”

Rofl, Green Day isn’t punk, not even close. You shouldn’t write stuff like that if you don’t know much/anything about punk. Real punk = Sex Pistols, Minor Threat, AFI, Anti-Flag, Ramones, NOFX etc

If they’re not a punk band now then they never were.

Green Day is as much as punk as AFI is lmfao.

  5. J-ames
    July 24th, 2007 | 00:19

AFI, real punk? no. And Minor Threat, more hardcore than punk…
If you are going to start talking about what real [insert genre of music here] you need some original bands from the genre , sex pistols, were not. Johnny Rotten said he never wore safety clips cos safety clips weren’t punk. Johnny Rotten Wore safety pins. So therefore he isn’t punk under his own theory.
They were just losers from a sex shop who cashed in on ripped clothing and being dicks.

    @John

Yeah, once they made Sing the Sorrow they turned into corporate shit but I still love their older stuff. Hypocrisy ftw.

Old Green Day sounds very similar to ‘real punk’ like NOFX… so I’m calling them punk, no matter how commercially successful they are.

Punk is dead, as are the real fans.

People who whine about “real *fill in any music style*”, I’m sorry for you! It must be hard listening to the same 3 stale albums over and over again, mumbling in your rocking chair about the ‘kids today and that noise their listening to’.

Green Day = average band who had a couple of nice tunes over the last years. Let’s leave it at that.

lol.. look at these fools! still remember seeing these guys for the first time back in 93′ or so.. think it was Green Day, Fifteen, Samiam at the Berkeley Square. these fucks used to have long ‘rocker hair’, funny to see how they’ve morphed into their ‘punk’ look throughout the years.. :D

    All you haters are pathetic.
If you hate Green Day so much why do you bother opening this page and wasting time writing about them. Dont you have anything better to do.
Just because they’re successfull does not mean they’re not punk. Since when is there a “rule” about being punk.
punk is about not following rules and sticking to what you believe is right.
They’re grown ups, There was a war going on and they sang about what they believe in, why shouldnt they. They have the power to make their voices heard and they did.
American Idiot was a “punk rock opera” nobody said it was pure punk. Singing about war does not mean they’re not punk. Hell The Clash sang songs about war. Does that mean they’re not punk ? no! so why do Green Day have to be labled that way.

I’m disgusted reading some of the comments by some of you assclowns.

EMO FAGS? How the fuck are they emo fags? PLEASE, everytime someone makes that statement, I call them out on it and they can NEVER EVER defend their statement.

If it wasn’t for American Idiot, there probably wouldn’t be a Green Day right now. Back in 2002 they were on the verge of splitting due to the unsuccessful album sales.

Now that they decided to take THEIR punk in a new direction, all of a sudden their emo?

The Used is emo. Take a look at their lyrics. Hell, I don’t even think half of you know the true meaning of an emo band.

Green Day is NOT emo, all you fuckers are just mad because they finally make a successful album like “Dookie”, and just because it’s about war, (like many of their punk influences), now THEY’RE selling out.

    You people are dumbfucks. Honestly.

And I am BEGGING for someone to debate with me on this subject.

  24. cooper
    July 24th, 2007 | 13:05

And before any of you say they’re music sounds different than before, they’ve sold out.

Let me just name a few bands where if you listen to their first album, then their current album, you’d go “what the fuck???”

Blink-182, New Found Glory, The Offspring, Sum 41, Yellowcard etc.

And if it wasn’t for the sound changes, All you bitches who complain 24/7 would start complaining that all their CD’s sound the same. IE. ANGELS AND AIRWAVES.

  25. cooper
    July 24th, 2007 | 13:10

And now let’s talk about Make-up.

How many rockers back in the day of the “hair bands” wore makeup? A whole lot, so I’m just assuming a majority of you fags bashing Green Day are no older than 19.

Fuck, look at Ozzy Osbourne, he where’s more eyeliner than Billy Joe or Tre Cool, yet nobody bashes him.

Face it, you fucktards just wanna bash Green Day because that’s what the stereotype of the band loves to do. You can’t just admit, “hey, this is a fucking amazing album”.

And I’ll tell you why you can’t, your not even in the music industry. Almost EVERY artist in the music industry, whether it be rock bands or even rap artist, they respect Green Day for their success in the music industry and their ability to make an album like “American Idiot”.

Green Day fucking kicks ass. So what if they sold out on the old scene of punk and went commercial. The truth of the matter is that they are a bad ass band and their music is truly aesthetically pleasing to the human ear. They can be whatever type of music they want. I hope they never stop putting out good albums. Fuck the nay-sayers. Green Day is the best in my book.

we don’t think it is reasonable to spend hundreds thousands dollars to buy a decorating watch. you can use those money to invest in other industry which will return you good profit.
here you just need to spend 100-200 dollars to buy a replica rolex watches.
Bvlgari replica watches are made by the rating 1:1 according to the original watches, and you can’t distinguish the original and the fake watches when you look at the surface of the watches.
