I really like this! The History Channel name is just marketing hype. The game is actually based on Legion Arena. I love the Total War series but also enjoy the more realistic hands off approach of Slitherine Software games. The graphics may be crustier than RTW, but the way battles are resolved by setting up units and giving general orders before the battle with only limited input from you during the battle is more realistic than RTW. Pre battle strategy and commander influence were much more important in Ancient battles rather than tactical changes during the fighting and the games in this series do a great job simulating this. Great stuff!

their nfo’s are always SO great. I usually never download their releases, (just cuz i don’t like the game) but I always read thier NFOs. The declaration of war against IRAN was the best IMHO.
