The crack was taken from the Razor release… First NOD32, and now Kaspersky says trojan, too, but I doubt it’s actually harmful. Why would Razor release a trojan?
This might’ve just been flagged by the trojan databases for some technical reason.

I doubt they released a trojan, but if you really want to be safe, wait for someone more official than me to confirm it.

When rapidshare changed their policy (from 10 Go a day to 2,something a day), i thought that it was due to the fact that they were fighting against piracy (it will become harder to take a 10 Go release in more than 3 days, because most of the links will be deleted, and in a way, that may be the point, because i heard that they had a legal issue in deutschland because they were supposed to help piracy).

Maybe it’s the truth. There’s still some hypocrisy from rapidshare.

For those who are having prb with the restrictions. Create a notepad file and copy this into it -nomemrestrict -norestrictions -novblank -percentvidmem 100 /high then save and name it commandline.txt

oh btw put the commandline file in the C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV

this should work if not then delete all the shortcuts you have made for the restrictions thing then it will work

right i just went thru every1 of these links n they are all fake containing trojans n im not freaking out bout the file flagging up on the antivirus i actually tested them out on a system n iive had to reinstall the system 10 times today to find out none of these work. pls ppl dont try any of these links on these sites. come on razor1911 pls release a real crack. ul know wen its real coz it will be on mininova. other than that ul need to use the advance version of daemon tools with YASU but i cant find a working torrent of daemon tools advance that works. i tried the lite version but no joy. i just keep getting “Please insert original disc instead of backup”

some setting I put there are ignored and others are set (but they do not appear in the graphics setting inside the game).

I did delete the infected launchgtaiv.exe before running anything and I am still using the very first account I created after I nuked my pc the last time.
The problem is, there just seem to be no family safety settings on XP and neither in Live.

tiny screen ? I have 19″ wide monitor. It’s not tiny for me. I do not have an LCD TV, just my 19″ LCD monitor.

mono sound ? this game (and lots of others) have Dolby 5.1 sound.
I also have a Sound Blaster Augidy 2 ZS 7.1 soundcard with 7.1 speakers.

Consoles are way to expensive and so are their games… 300 bucks for an original game where PC games are like 90 bucks. Consoles ? NO THANK YOU.

This game could be 3 years old… it’s new on PC!!!

razor’s crack seems to work just fine with the “GTA PC VERSION” download here a while back. However, after start, getting a almost all the textures missing. Came here to read few decent comments about changes and few other things including commandline commands.
All I got is “Releaselog sucks”, “this is fake”, “it contains virus”. I mean, if Rlslog sucks then why on earth are you still here?
Really, people are funny.
Anyways, viruses? I don’t think so. Yes if you do download crap what others post here then most likely 98% of these are fake. Use only original link provided by RLSLOG or if by any reason staff member posts it here ( they’ve got “Staff” tag in front of their name so you really can’t mess it up ).
However avoid downloading whatever others claim to be clean and working or w/e. You might as well throw out your PC right away. Really, people do you think that #269 “sam” is a staff member or someone to trust? I doubt, I’m not even going to find out. Why on earth would you repost rapidshare link when it’s in official article? So, for me it’s obviously fake. Also, do you see “staff” tag in front of his name, no. Meaning, he’s just like me – unknown person. So really, stop believing every last random member who jumps by.

So, yea.
It work just fine, I have CloneDVD’s version with older crack which worked fine as well. Downloaded this one and all I did was overwrite. That’s absolutely everything I did and opened up, worked like it did before. No performance improvement or anything. Everything’s still the same. It’s kinda much the same like two older releases, but most likely it defeats secureRom more completely.

Personally I think RLSLog does not need reply function. It requires heavy attention and constant clean up to make it effective and well I simply don’t see it happening here.
Since most releases are done by trusted members you can most likely trust them all. So, comments at this point are unnecessary.

I really can’t imagine what’s going to happen once patch is out and new crack is needed .

Well, I’m not really surprised that such a high profile game would attract a lot of a-holes disguising viruses as cracks.
That said, I think I’ll just wait for the patch and subsequent crack before attempting to play this game. In my experiance, a little patience pays off big time. I learned my lesson after trying to jump into Stalker Clear Sky right away!

You do need to do the release date check to install the fedor crack properly. If there is no way to do that, ask ur friends to send u their exe files which were altered after they have done the release check.

It works!

I,ve downloaded that release and this Razor crack and everything works fine.

Well, except for the game bugs that Rockstar will eventually fix with a patch that probably will require a new crack…

But I played the game for something about 3-4 hours and didn’t have big issues. The savegame works, the camera don’t get crazy. The worst things I’ve noticed was textures loading every time I change the point of view, for example, I’m looking to a building, then I look back and look againg to were that building, was? Yes, the game have to load the building again; Samething happens to textures in the walls.

Well, its minor issues. But looks like the game was poorly coded for PC. Mercenaries 2 runs very smoother on my PC and have very pretty graphics.

Well, I gues this can be fixed with a game patch and some new drivers for the video card…

I think Rockstar did this to prevent people to put the settings higher than the PC could support. The problem is that this system underestimate the computer and even with a very decent rig, the setting are set lower than we would like to. So, to unlock the graphics option, do the following:

1- Enter the game install folder
2- Create a new notepad file there with the name: commandline
3- Open the file you just created and put in there:
-norestrictions
Save the file and open the game. Now the options will be unlocked.

You can add some more parameters at your own in the commandline file to change something else. See the list of available parameters in:

We are working on making a patch available in the next few days. Since Grand Theft Auto IV is a Games For Windows – Live game the patch must be certified by Microsoft before release. The patch is already at Microsoft and we expect a speedy approval. The patch contains a variety of fixes including:

• A fix to the crash after legal screen that some German customers were reporting.
• Numerous improvements to the video editor: Smarter naming of videos, improved rendering quality, better fx during replays
• Fix to bowling while using certain sensitive mice
• Fix for ATI 1900 shadows
• Overall savings to memory
• Graphic improvements to particle systems and mirrors
• Multiplayer character settings are preserved
• Support for DirectInput controllers. Note: The current hack way of supporting these controllers may not work with the improved functionality. So we recommend you remove the hack before upgrading to the patch.

Issues with power management software have also been fixed (slow speed, double speed issues). Even after the patch comes out setting power management software to maximum performance is recommended. We’ve seen cases where power management software does not detect the game is running and puts the CPU in green mode.

Besides the patch we’ve also improved the way the Social Club handles data this should have greatly reduced or eliminated the Mma10 error. If you are still receiving this error after logging in and out of Social Club we would like to know as much info as you can about it

and by the way u don’t need sp3.
The only things to make this work at u’r current pc are:

1st way:
right click on gtaIV.exe and Launchgtaiv.exe and at COMPATIBILITY make it compatible with windows 2000

2nd way: simple edit registry with:

please someone tell me there is a new crack out since this posting. I’ve been using it but it no longer works, the game just never shows up after cycling through the characters on loading, and the gameplay slows down after a while, and i can’t exit the game without doing a manual reset of my entire system. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

Just being playing this for 3 hrs on my 2 and half year system: Core2duo 6400, 2gb RAM, XP SP3, Geforce 7900GT 256 mb.

Yeah old video card particularly with low texture RAM really limits what you can do. At 1024 x 768 with options on 2 and medium render I had weird graphic corruption; black sky, no text etc. but game itself was quite smooth.

I switched everything to 1 and render of low and the game looks normal more or less, though get weird dots occasionally and that weird dithered wobbly texture effect when objects are further away but the game plays pretty smooth and still looks better than the other GTA’s on PC, though of course poor compared to what a good video card could do. With more optimisation I’m sure even a 7900 GT could put things up a notch or two.

Just posted this for anyone who is wondering if it can run on an old machine. BTW, the Razor release seems perfect. Follow directions and no problem at all.

i tried ramping everything up past what it should be and drove thru an invisible ghost town! If you have 256mb graphics memory like me you have to play on low res low textures

@372 nike first download the fedor crack from the “ADMIN” link at the top of this page dont download from othere links or you will get a virus or trojan then replace the LaunchGTAIV.exe with the provided launcher in the feder folder put it in c:\program files\rockstar games\Grand Theft Auto IV folder. Then Run GTA IV from Rockstar Games Social Club witch is in C:\Program files\RockStar Games\Rockstar Games Social Club\1_1_1_0 and start the game with this icon “RGSC.exe” then make a offline profile by pressing “Home” on your keybord and go to create new profile.

You dont have to sign in or anything. Its a bit tricky but dont worrk about it and just dont sign in and try to work offline.

BTW when it asks you to make a Live! profile, you can make a offline one which allows you to save.

Hello all, me and my friend have a problem with Grand Theft Auto IV. We have totally different PC (and drivers too, of course), but we have the same thing: after a few minutes, maximum 20-30 minutes the game starts “jamming”, but before that, everything is ok. I’ve tried several video, chipset and sound card drivers, closed every background task, bot none of them help. Anyone knows what’s the problem? If not, I hope R* will solve this too in the upcoming patch.

To all you guys who are having problems with the game crashing right after launch or after a few hours, try to turn off FRAPS, Xfire Client and all unessential apps, I find GTA:4 will crash with those 2 apps in particular. Hope this helps.

I have played the game with the Razor1911 crack, WORKED PERFECTLY, as I completed the main story without any problems. I have a Quad core Q6600 CPU, Club 3D 8800 GT 512, 4Gb RAM with Windows Vista Business 64-bit. With this setup I had the medium textures, best render, 30, 30, 40 and the shadows were at 8. I had a good fps, all good. I heard from a friend that he got the Razor1911 version working on LAN with an offline account trough Hamachi, you guys might wanna try that. tho I have NOT heard of any succesfull online gameplay, other than with the real version.. What a shocker. And because of that, I decided to go and buy the game. Now I have it, all works great. Online game is freaking awesome! It really was worth it.

when starting trough social club it keeps asking for a serial and unlock code, and the one given on the internet for the clonedvd version does not work.

is the razor version supposed to ask for activation with serial?

I have been usin the Fedor crack without any of the problems mentioned above.
My rig is not very new or powerful (q6600/2GB 1066/ 8800GTX 758/ and it sets as default at high/high (I set it high/very high, World distance 10, visual distance 60, shadows 12 and cars 26) and it plays around 30-40 fps at 1680×1050 screen.
I am stuck in the Old Hospital mission where you have to kill the latinos and the pigs.
I dunno what to do. They are coming at me like from everywhere. Sheet!

Oh, yeah I am using XPSP3 and I have my page file set to 2+2 Gigs (4Gigs) min=max and I notice in the performance menu in task manager the peak record is almost 4 Gigs.
Maybe the people who have probs with the game slowin down after awhile need to give the page file some more slack.
Just my 2c anyways.

I give up. I've tried installing this game over and over again, about 5 times now, but I always get the same problem. It won't connect to the online release date check. I think that error is from not applying the patch after using the crack. copy the crack files over making backups of originals before and then apply the newest patch and it should work fine for ya.

That is the same old razor crack. It is NOT working with new patch 1.0.2.0. The game starts but you can't complete missions where you need to use internet caffee computer. If you press "E" nothing happens. There is NO fully working crack for the updated version of the game.

Hey guys…i tried the razor fix…the game did work…but after a few missions the game suddenly hanged,n then when i tried to close it n try running the game again..i got an error msg… "GTA IV FATAL ERROR :VDS 20 Invalid Resource detected-Please reinstall the game"…wat the..?

i got the game to work with the razor crack(link in Grat's comments 14 Dec) without drunken cam and can also save but now the game crashes after like 5 mins of play. the sound stutters and the screen goes blank and returns to desktop. i have a AMD 4600+,2 GB ram 8600GT 512mb. any solutions?. BTW for the record the crack works. i updated to GTA4_Patch_V2. think its gotta do with the patch. any other patch i can try?

Crack from #510 works for me.
No drunken cam anymore. I played about 2 hours from beginning. you have to start the game with the launcher, and not with the gtaIV.exe.
the game starts with the GTAIV.exe, too, but drunken cam appears after a few minutes.

At least: with this crack you don´t need to start crap like Gfwl or social club.
