Grand Theft Auto IV MULTI5 PAL READNFO XBOX360-iCON
Yeah, we do not normally inform about console games, but Grand Theft Auto 4 is a game of the the year without any doubts so it deserves at least a short mention. This fresh release from group iCON for XboX 360 has 6.36 GB and is not region free – which means only people in Japan, Asia, Australia and few European countries can play it. As Rockstar doesn’t publish this game until next week, it’s possible they will ban users playing this version of GTA 4 on their XboX, so NFO recommends not going online until the next week. I’m eagerly awaiting the PC version!

The most anticipated game ever, Grand Theft Auto IV will revolutionize gaming. You play as Niko Bellic, an Eastern European immigrant to Liberty City with a murky, violent past. Hoping to start a new life in a new country, Niko arrives on the docks and is met by his cousin, Roman. Roman’s promises of ready wealth and easy women turn out to be exaggerations and Niko must quickly adjust to a hard life. But this is America, and Niko wants his slice of the American dream. With perseverance and hard work, he just might grab it.
Based on several of the boroughs of New York City and parts of New Jersey, Liberty City, familiar to players of previous games in the series, has been entirely redesigned for GTA IV. Players can expect visible detail down to the weeds growing in the cracks in the sidewalk, cars and buildings of visibly different ages and a much greater level if verticality in the buildings and bridges that they are able to explore as Niko moves through the city streets. In addition, pedestrians in GTA IV are much more realistic. No longer simply moving cardboard cutouts, these NPCs are intelligent, modern, human representations that laugh, cry, eat, drink, use cell phones and ATMs, and talking amongst themselves regardless of Niko’s interaction with them.

Only a few more days now and it’ll be out. Have mine ordered on the PS3 and may get it for the 360 too.
The xbox revsion is apparently smaller at first, and then they are releasing downloadable content. The ps3, having blu-ray will probably be alot bigger.

Since my Xbox 360 got banned from Live, i simply download ‘all’ my games off newsgroups. But….. this isn’t just any old game, this is GTA 4 man….
So i went out and picked up a 40gb PS3 off ebay last week for £250, comes with one crappy snooker game and some HDMI cables.
Anyway i pre-ordered the standard version from game.co.uk – who actually guarantee delivery on release day. Sure i’ve gotta wait another 5 days, but hell it’s worth it.
It’s Rockstar guys, these lot actually deserve our hard earned cash. Oh and why did i purchase a PS3? Well online is free for one, and….. i believe the PS3 will probably perform much smoother performance wise.
Still whatever copy you get, i’m sure were all gonna have a great time

All I can say is wow.
This copy gets to the third level, starts the cut scene and crashes everytime, my mate phoned me saying he had it so i went around to check it out and it crashes everytime he gets to that same point so, hahahaha, wait for the real fully working thing guys, also multiplayer won’t work as the Rockstar servers which deal with all the server list traffic are not running yet therfore you can’t find anyone to play online with.
I can’t wait for the ppc version to hit the net, it’s gonna be wickeddd

I live by my topend PC & i’ll die by my topend PC i can run any game smother than your itty bitty consoles ever could lol.Is the game set in liberty if so i don’t see the point in buying into 3 islands that have just got a diffrent story.Even if the PC version is 6 months away i’ll wait coz it gives me something to look forward to in months to come.If its set in liberty city i’ll pass on it totaly regardless of the new story.

the good thing is that we’ll have the real “mafia II” this year
maybe the pc version will be 6 – 8 months away but that just ensures we get the best version with extra content. by the way mouse and keyboard give you way more control than a 360 pad ever will.
So why would this work on japan ntsc-j consoles and not on ntsc-u north american consoles….

If history is anything to go by PC users will be waiting 10 months at least for the release. I will purchase it on PC also as I’ve done with every GTA game.
Waiting 10 months for modding the game is worth it.

Yea it will be A LONG wait for pc sure, but are you high or something because pc versions of the previous GTAs have been way better on pc than consoles… customizable graphics, controls, audio + mods and stuff… don’t see how GTA IV would be any different… only minus on the pc port is the long wait after console releases.

As for the system requirements, only reason it’d be heavy is the engine porting badly. The game looks like crap compared to most of the stuff out there, claiming it’d take a 2000 dollar machine is silly

There is 2 versions floating around, this was leaked from a UK source and is uncensored. It works flawlessly, for all those having issues it because your doing something wrong! Might try buying better media, or dropping your burn speed down a few notches.

I’d be really surprised is it was released for pc this year, more likely to be mid next year. unless the 6 month delay gave them the time to finish the pc version. Either way i’m getting this game in 6 days.
This game is an excellent example of extremely lame game everyone wants to play. Just like The Sims or Solitaire.
Also, Mafia was released soon after GTA3 (what is important is that Mafia’s making started before GTA3 was announced) and it has far better storyline, graphics, AI, more details etc.

The xbox revsion is apparently smaller at first, and then they are releasing downloadable content. The ps3, having blu-ray will probably be alot bigger.

I had the same question too. If Japan runs NTSC as well then why wouldnt this work even though its not region free USA?? I was all eager to download this when I seen it then I took a closer look and seen it wasnt region free USA. I have a few dual layers maybe Ill try it anyway. Ive heard of people being able to play NTSC or PAL with there firmware but yet maybe they were just making it up.

@113 your dvd file specifies the layer break. You can use XDVDmulleter to make a new dvd file with the correct layerbreak. you can also check what region the ISO is and if its xtreme compatible as well.You can also autofix it and insert the stealth file (DMI,PFI) and the secure sector (SS).
you can find various sites that have the stealth files and secure sectors but just make sure the files match your region. It still can be hit or miss because I have burned a few coasters because apparently the stealth or secure sector files didnt match the ISO. It happens. But the newer releases already have all that done. Just download,extract, and burn using the dvd file. I always make a new dvd file to be safe. good luck.

Even Vice City & San Andreas blows Ps2 out of the water, full HD, real cars, any mod you can think of, 16xAA, looks better than most PS3 games. So yeah when this comes out on PC it will kill the sh!t PS3 graphics (that I had on my PC 6 years ago) and the FREE customization will make Xbox’s extra paid content look like crap.

Been playing this game for a couple of hours and overall its a big disapointment. All i heard was about how they were rebuilding the entire game, but its just skinned over game engine with better graphics. even certain glitches like how he jumps out of the way of cars at the wrong time are EXACTLY the same as all other GTAs. play it, and you will see what im saying, it feels exactly like your playing san andreas but a more realistic environment and more features. im glad i didnt waste any money on this repackeged bs.
And I have 360 and pc, and for what its worth pc owns consoles its not even a question.

P.S: to emulate XBOX360 on PC u need approx 12 GB (1GB for windows ;p + 11 GB for emulating ,re emulating, filtering , re-filtering,etec the textures) thats for ram , i got no idea about processor since there is no real tests had taken place yet at 12 Gb ram !

umm, i have a great pc, and all 3 consoles… Your arguements are meaningless to most… The reason consoles will always be better, is that fact that everyone you are playing against is on the SAME HARDWARE, therfor when playing online, it is fair for everyone. Also, both EA games, and Epic games have talked about only doing online betting on consoles games in the future. The next gen systems that are in the making are made to make money from gameing. and im sorry, but useing a mouse and keyboard for console games it ridiculious, all PC’s are good for is MMORPG’s. and for the same reason, you have roughly 65% more people playing shooters on consoles, then you will ever have on pc’s. most “real” tournys, the ones that are sponsered by large companys and have large payments and prizes, are done and finsihed before the game even comes out on PC, lol… halo is a great example. and the numbers dont lie. consoles make more then 60% more sales then PC. For the person saying that xbox will have exclusive downloads, the company for the game gta has accepted money from microsoft for 2 excluseive or 3 if im wrong but im sure its 2, for 30 mil or 40 mil but the ps3 one will have 5 vs 3 the xbox will have..

The PC version will be released later because they want to maximise profit from the next gen consoles. It has nothing to do with Hardware requirements. Same thing can be said for Devil May Cry 4 too.
@pj – I’ll probably say a Dual Core to get it running well. Just about all 360 games run well on a dual core system with a decent graphics card.

what fred said is so true, lol In the year 2010 when you pc fanboys have your GTA IV tourny, console owners will be on to bigger and better things… and if a bunch of junk companys could make better graphixs cards to throw into your console, then PC’s would die. The fact of the matter is this, PC’s are upgraded every single day, where as consoles arent, you get what you paid for. when the 360 came out over 2 years ago, it was on par with current PC performance, its been over 2 years, so if all the thousands of companys that make gidgets and gadgets to make your pc seem good, didnt surpass old tech, then again, the PC would die. but all of you are ignoring price points ! for best bang for your buck, its easy winner, consoles. you can spend the money you would put out on a console just on your PC monitor. and one last point, some people like to drink beer, sit in the living room on leather chairs and play games on large HD tv’s. Yes it’s nice to sit back in a comfy chair and work your thumbs to death, but you’re doing the same thing over and over with the same hardware, Eventually gets boring. Especially how fast PC’s upgrade.
And what’s this about 2000$ PC rigs? If you build your own PC, spending 500-600$ will give you twice the performance of a PS3.

LOL im sitting on my couch typing this on a 52″ LCD, and just got done playing 64 player free for all on COD4, in full 1920×1080hd, on custom maps that look better than the regular maps, custom weapons, surround sound, able to shoot 5 people with my mouse before your anolog stick can even move the cursor across the screen left to right. also, from my couch. Blows away anything any console has to offer.

HELP! Has anyone from New Zealand played this? I downloaded it and burned with Nero but it wont load… It spins and sounds like its going to work then tells me to clean the disc with a soft cloth… I used Imation disc.
Ohh and I am purchasing this on Tuesday when it is released but we in NZ are getting the CUT version that Australia is getting to comply with their laws…I want to play the UNCUT version…

Microsoft and co, are making the most of the 360 in terms of Directx9.0 The PC is already set for next gen games with Directx10.0 with dual board graphic cards on 1 or 2 cards etc..
I own a gaming PC, a 360, and a Wii. They all have their strong points. I built the PC before I bought a 360, but I bought the 360 because most quality titles are coming out on consoles before PC (GTA IV, Mass Effect, Fable 2, etc). Crysis is a fun and good looking game, but it’s the same old shooter sh!t.
It kind of pisses me off that I had to buy a 360 for that reason, but game manufacturers see sales numbers and respond accordingly. It used to be that everything was on PC first and then ported poorly, now everything is on consoles and ported with minor tweaks.
What’s really funny is I use the 360 to play XBLA games now…simple indie games have shown more innovation than any big seller. If the PC had a standard delivery format like PSN or XBL, you might see some people migrate. I was also very shocked at how much I enjoyed XBL over PC game’s lobbies and in game server browsers. The PC needs to start taking f*cking notes and get with the program.
(Before you hate, I’ve been a PC gamer for years. But, the time to move onwards and upwards is nigh.)

gta 4 will b out 4 pc. it came out on pc way b4 consoles were ever thought of. as 4 it being better on consoles, i dont think so. also you dont use wasd keys, use a controller. i can run gta 3 in windows vista with every setting at max and still get outstanding graphics. also consoles games r full of bugs.
is there a way to get this to run on the PC?

Somthink is sRLSy wrong with benq drives running the Icon release. Maybe a patch, new ixtreme firmware or a retail rip will fix it. Same problem. Roads and textures disappearing framedrops etc.
People tried everything to find out what makes a difference. does it matter if you have a HD? NO, to speed up or slow down the benQ drive also didnt really made a difference. People with pioneer burners en verbatim media ALSO have this problem. PLEASE RELEASE RETAIL PAL! The original does run perfect on benq drives. So ive read. SPasiba

I can describe this game as “wow.” Much better quality and much more gameplay than the other ones. I played this for the first time Saturday morning at the movie theatre I work at… I am proud to say I raced around the city, running people over and avoiding the cops for hours on a 35 foot screen
This game owns! Can’t wait for the pc version!
