Google search history as the evidence
I mentioned it few days ago in the post about the change of Google’s logs and there’s already a good proof of real value of these datas. A common sense leads you to use the internet for solving almost every problem nowadays, and that’s exactly what a certain young lady did. A New Jersey woman on trial for murdering her husband in April 2004 did a Google search on the phrase “How to commit murder,” exactly 10 days before she allegedly shot him to death, according to a digital technology expert, who worked for the New Jersey State Police.
Melanie McGuire, 33, also did searches on Google and MSN for “undetectable poisons,” “fatal digoxin levels,” “instant poisons,” “toxic insulin levels,” “how to purchase guns illegally,” how to find chloroform,” “fatal insulin doses,” “poisoning deaths,” “where to purchase guns illegally,” “gun laws in PA,” “how to purchase guns in PA,” and “where to purchase guns without a permit,” according to Seymour’s court testimony. According to prosecutors, in May 2004 William McGuire’s severed remains were found in three suitcases off the Virginia coast. His wife faces 30 years to life in prison if convicted. Do you already see the real power of these 2 years old logs?

Scary shit…
Surely if she couldn’t work out how to do it she could just watch Columbo and pick up where they went wrong.
damn :/
i hope my missus don’t get my pc checked , she will see i been looking at porn for 3 years
LOL, she had to Google to come up with “shoot him”
Yeah… this is scary on multiple levels. People search for all kinds of things, I sure hope there’s some strict control over for what that information is released.
and of course… who the hell googles “How to commit murder”? That part of the story sounds like a joke, a bad one at that.
Its not that the information is there, its what you do with it.
You either can use it for self means (murder, etc) or do good with it (history logs of searches to convict).
The real question one should ask is, what was the root cause that triggered her to murder her husband?
So I walk in to a bar the other night and I see the most gorgeous girl sitting there. I walk over to her and notice she has a shiner, a black eye. I walk away and think to myself, “damn, she doesnt listen”
oh come on… root cause to murdering her husband?!
hehehe. infact now im a little worried, cause the other day, just for fun i ran a search on “child pron”, yes PRON not porn, and see what the results are — google advises u saying “did you mean child porn”
:D:D:D and now someone 3 years from now might think im a fuckin pedo!! this is scary shit man.
hahaha lols the fat dumb bitch
“according to a digital technology expert, who worked for the New Jersey State Police.”
i’m a little confused. how did a new jersey “technology expert” get a hold of Google logs? oh, they didn’t. they looked on *her* machine. she didn’t bother to clear the browse history.
probably a windows machine anyway. good luck proving it was just her on that computer.
This is fucked up shit. Better not to make any search for explosive formulas and stuff like that… coz next day you can have FBI knocking on your door and arresting you for being potentional terrorist
the land of the free.
thats why its always a good idea to have a big magnet within arms reach of your computer.
yeh my pc has a button on the front that says “implode”…just in case.
