Google getting even richer: new jet
Google is reportedly expanding the fleet of private jets that has privileges to take off from a small, Nasa-operated airfield near the company’s headquarters in Mountain View, California. As part of an agreement with the space agency, the company’s top executives can already drive the mere four miles up the road to Moffett Field, which is generally closed to private aircraft, and board any of the three jets that they keep there. Now Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Google’s billionaire founders, are adding a fourth aircraft to the fleet which, for $1.3 million a year, they park at the airfield in return for assisting Nasa with its information-gathering activities.

The plane that will join the Boeing 767-200 and two Gulfstream Vs already in Google’s hangar is, according to the New York Times, a Boeing 757, which is large by corporate jet standards. Google, whose offices are a seven-minute drive from the airfield, already has a broad research agreement with Nasa, and in August, the agency’s scientists used one of the company’s planes to observe a meteor shower. Local residents expressed opposition to the idea that Nasa open up its runways as a means of helping pay for facilities. “The Google flights represent the possibility that the camel’s nose is under the tent,” one was quoted as saying when news of the agreement broke last month. Damn, I would so use a private jet too!

Damn google is doing well, i hope they spend there money on improving the google service for users.
They are both extremely rich but also hypocrites in the mean time. They lie reporters they care about global warming yet put more jets in the air.
Proof that when you take care of the needs of the big bad guys by doing away with the rights of the little everyday guys your rewards will be plenty.
Good for them! What’s wrong with getting, what is a minor perk, in return for what is going to be a successful partnership.
If they need a pilot I am more then willing to fly one of the Gulfs. 757/767 not a problem either, if they’d provide the type rating lol. The picture shown btw shows us an Airbus A32x. I also heard the spicegirls got their own 757 Spice Force One (:D) which our Johnny Travolta (owner of a private Gulf and 707 who lives at the Jumbolair airstrip) has offered to operate. This world can’t get any crazier.
Google is getting dangerously big. They may already have grown out of their shoes, a dangerous thing to do. Beware of the new Microsoft: GOOGLE!!!
I told you people i told you !!!!
They are taking over !!!! Now they have a small fleet of Jets and the next step will be an Air Force with B52 stealth bombers !!! Google is totalitarian and all they want is more and more power.
Fight them with everything you got !
Stay firm and alert !!
Google was created by a pair of Russian nerds, socialist Stalin is turning in his grave.
What would you guys do, if you were as rich as Google? buy a barbie doll?
I guess I would rather buy a NASA jet..
At least Google isn’t involved with stupid IP claims.
I don’t mind big companies, I do mind companies that use their market share and money to kill all competition (Microsoft and Friends).
I disagree, google not an evil company. They just keep doing more extreme things since they have so much money.
Google used to be the best search engine, but now it has been bought buy Corp America so when you search the first page of searchs has some kind of site dealing with the purchase of the item. All the commerical sites pay big bucks to be on that page.
You all should use ask.com its better at finding what you are looking for. But I still buy GOOG on the NYSE its very profitable!!
