Global Metal 2008 LiMiTED DVDRIP XVID-iGNiTE

Global Metal is a 2008 documentary directed by Canadian anthropologist Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen. Global Metal aims to show the impact of globalisation on the heavy metal underground as well as how different people from different cultures are transforming heavy metal music.

In GLOBAL METAL, directors Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn set out to discover how the West’s most maligned musical genre – heavy metal – has impacted the world’s cultures beyond Europe and North America. The film follows metal fan and anthropologist Sam Dunn on a whirlwind journey through Asia, South America and the Middle East as he explores the underbelly of the world’s emerging extreme music scenes; from Indonesian death metal to Chinese black metal to Iranian thrash metal. GLOBAL METAL reveals a worldwide community of metalheads who aren’t just absorbing metal from the West – they’re transforming it – creating a new form of cultural expression in societies dominated by conflict, corruption and mass-consumerism.

I hope this one will be as good as A Headbanger’s Journey. But after reading a few comments on imdb, it seems this one is even better.

pffft at all the ignorant people talking bad on metal. Its too bad because their idea of metal is probably derived from Powerman 5000 or some trashy nu-metal band. Theres a lot of crap out there, thats true, but this doc. looks promising, touching on the socio-political aspect of metal and so-called 3rd world countries. If anyone here has traveled any bit, they realize that the sub-genre’s of metal carry some good people, mainly the crowd that I speak of is crust, grind, doom, etc. There is a good community aspect, a DIY spirit that comes from anarchist teachings (and are being put to work in real-world models- and guess what, they work!)
…so ill check this out, for sure.

Metal is anger management for those that love it.
This documentary is as good or even a little better than “A Headbangers Journey”. Really interesting to see that all us metal heads are very much brother and sisters in metal.

    Metal rules the globe!

Excellent Documentary. If you love metal or rock you should watch it. The message is basically, “we like metal so F-ck you if you’re a hater. The world doesn’t have time for closed minded people.”
I love how uncomfortable Lars became with the questions.
