    It makes me laugh all these Americans that think they were first with games shows…. Gladiators were up and running in the UK long before the US. But yet again the Americans think that they are the first at everything…………..

    Actually to be fair the yanks were first to produce Gladiators:

    "The initial concept for the show by Dan Carr and John C. Ferraro was held in Erie, Pennsylvania, in the USA before being sold to Samuel Goldwyn Productions/MGM where the format was adapted and televised as American Gladiators with the first series airing over 1989-1990. As the show progressed, new events were introduced along with new Gladiators, sometimes retiring previous Gladiators.

    Following the success of American Gladiators, other countries began to produce their own versions of the show with the UK and Finland starting production in 1992"

    That doesn't stop it being crappier than the UK version though, or the early UK series that is…
