Awesome… I was jonesing for some more Gladiators after American Gladiators ran through its season and was happy to see UK and Australian versions. Now Season 2 is starting up. 10 PRINT "BIG GRIN"
They need to sign the American Gladiators "Crush" and "Wolf" now that version has been cancelled.

Umm, well I've been wrong before, but I think the US is responsible for this particular hellspawn. I know Hollywood has never met someone else's idea that they couldn't ruin, but this was first in the US around '89 and I think the first UK version was 93 or so. Not that it matter because it's similar to other, better Japanese shows anyway. Oh yeah, and it's stupid. Some of the events are OK, but it's about 35 seconds of interesting material and 58 minutes of fluff, posturing and commercials. I will never be able to actually watch live TV with the commercials again. The only true modern convenience that is worthwhile.

What's up with all the shows from the UK. They suck and take up space. Get rid of them.
I don't know about who invented it first, but I used to watch the series as a kid back in the 80's. When they brought it out last year and had Hulk Hogan hosting it, I really thought the new events were much harder, and the last event, where each contestant races against the other was absolutely grueling. The last event in the race was this ramp with treadmills going in reverse, and I can rememember so many of the finalists literally going up that ramp 10+ times before they made it to the top to swing thru a wall and win the event. Many times it didn't matter how far ahead in terms of time the first contestant would start, by the time they made it to that ramp they were dead even.
