Ghostface Killah – The Big Doe Rehab
So first of all I just have to comment on the lameass cover of this CD. Is anyone else tired of the whole “Bitches, Bling and Cash” (oh and lets not forget some fatass Rims) attitude in mainstream Hip-Hop?! It seems so simple minded to me, and don’t get me wrong: I LOVE a lot of Hip-Hop. On the other hand Ghostface is a great MC and respected lyricist. I usually tell people to support their favourite artists but judging by the cover of his CD Ghostface dosen’t seem to need anymore money.
The Big Doe Rehab is the upcoming seventh album by American rapper and Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah. Ghostface announced the release on a video on his MySpace page on October 9, 2007.
The album will be released on December 4, 2007. This initially conflicted with the release date of Wu-Tang Clan’s fifth group album 8 Diagrams, a fact Ghostface was reported to be unhappy with, according to an interview with MTV.com. In response to this, RZA subsequently announced the delay of 8 Diagrams by a further week so as not to clash with the release of The Big Doe Rehab.
The album will feature guest appearances from fellow Wu-Tang members Raekwon, Method Man, U-God as well as from Kid Capri, Cappadonna and members of Ghostface’s Theodore Unit crew.

@4: First of all… I’m ReeGed, not Martin. Second of all, mainstream Hip-Hop artists like Ghostface Killah DO make ridiculous amounts of money, this is nothing I need to speculate about.

Theres no talent in RAP music. Just a mic. electric keyboard, and luck. Anybody can rap as long as they have a decent amount of brain cells left and a nearby WALMART Electronics Center. Thats just my opinion when based in comparison with rock,classical,ect…Something to think about.

There is no “selling out” in artists. The all sell out – all the image you get from the artists are from sold products, let it be album, magazine or a web page. Someone makes money for it, its just how it goes. So stating that you would originally know what others intentions were and then tell them to be “sell outs”, you are making a fool of yourself.
Also, ReeGed – whats wrong with the cover ? I think its awesome. Just think about it. Would it really matter, if the cover would be some emo picture with some artistic vibe. This cover is more real than dozens of other bands – they are just for the music and money, in this case for the latter one. Or what do i know.. Thats the thing with intentions.
The only notable track after first listening is Track 13 Shakey Dog, which is a remix of El Michels Affair’s Musings to myself from the 2006 album – sounding out the city.

I think anybody who knows hip hop knows it’s all about clout, swagger, and persona. The “Ghostface/Tony Starks” story is a continuing narrative. Most of his albums’ narratives intersect at some point (Shakey Dog on Fishscale and on Rehab) each one is a development of this Ghostface character/persona. It has nothing to do with reality, it’s a persona folks (his real name is Dennis Coles). It’s entertainment…like Hannah Montana
If you buy into the image as if it represents the real world, then you are dumber than 10 year old girls fighting over Hannah Montana tickets.
