Used to use Getright years ago but now there is quite many good and better free alternatives, Orbit for grabing hard to get stuff, Free Download manager for the best and most usefull download manager of all.

And better yet, they don’t cost a penny.

Another fake program from the ‘log. So which kind of virus/spyware/hacktool does this one contain? Wow a download manager, should be lots of stupid people installing this one and having their machine zombied. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THESE FAKE PROGRAMS FROM THIS SITE, THEY CONTAIN NUMEROUS HARMFUL SPYWARE AND VIRUSES. DO NOT DOWNLOAD OFF THE RS LINKS, AS THEY ARE THE WORST FOR SPREADING INFECTED FILES.

If you’re getting your cracked programs from this site, I would suggest you run Counterspy and Bitdefender, or Kaspersky or something, as many programs listed here are NOT REAL and are just hack tools disguised as whatever.

The staff can say what they want about this being aclean site, but THOSE OF US WHO HAVE BEEN USING THIS SITE FOR A LONG TIME KNOW THE TRUTH NOW. Why they continue to post infected ‘programs’ and pass them off as legit if beyond me. Many of you out there have your machine zomied cuz of this site. Get ur shyte together rlslog staff, these programs do not exist or do nothing but install problems.

  22. December 10th, 2007 | 18:02

    @ jfiejflkd

Ok, man what kind of drugs do you smoke?

Why should we post “infected, harmful or so” “dangerous” apps?
What benefit i have from that?!

You downt know what are you talking about. We post scene programs, nothing more. And btw, before posting anything, i check files my self, so if they are not infected i post em.

    So, please STFU!

I have tried most of the file downloaders, especially free ones, and I am ALLWAYS coming back to getright. MOST of them don’t support multi-part downloading, and if they do its usually no where near as configurable or adjustable (I can easily right click and choose the number of streams on a file depending on what other downloads I have going, if any). Getright also pretty much had the more friendlier UI, and used the least resources (Most multi part file managers I found downloaded to seperate files.. so if you downloaded a 2 gig file, you will quickly find windows slugging around when its pasting those 4 files into one when it finishes).

that said…I am a tight wad..getright isn’t one of the type of programs I would buy, esp for $20. That said, I discovered getright partners with a program called TrialPay, essentially you sign up for some kind of service…some cost money…some don’t. I opted for the discover credit card, cost nothing to keep open, just stick it somewhere for emergencies, or cancel it after a few months.

So using trialpay, I picked up a LEGIT KEY for nothing. No need to worry about any more cracks and blacklisted keys.

@Christian, you’re ignorance is forgivable, as you’re fairly new if i’m not mistaken. This is the type of infected crap I’m talking about:

    http://www.rlslog.net/immonitor-msn-spy-20-winall-cracked-nope/

Just one of many many examples of programs that themselves are malware of some sort.

    hi,

thanks for pointing me to “freedownloadmanager”. I used reget 4 for a few yrs now, but it crashes sometimes and uses lots of cpu.

freedownloadmanager doesnt need any noticeable cpu-power :)

And for now it is doing the job fine.

    December 10th, 2007 | 20:09

Its not a good idea to use a commercial download manager! This program connects to Internet and verifies if the serial is legit and after a while the program will stop working! LOL! I know! I learned this the hard way! You will receive a threatening message from the developer along with your IP listed! Use the free ones instead!

right, reget 5 did the same.. stopped working after some time and modified the downloaded files also! reget 4 still works fine.

Its no mystery that numerous progs in the scene have cracks infected with all kinds of malicous softwares so i have to agree that if you believe every file listed at rlslog is clean your deluding yourself. But anyone that downloads these things and doesnt check them for this stuff is a moron asking for trouble.

    @ 28 jkaksdfie

I hardly believe you make pass the spam protection dude. That tool is openly a spy tool you fool. This site has not tried to hide it. It is what it is and was released by a scene group. Many AVs will flag it as spyware because, guess what… IT IS…

    December 10th, 2007 | 20:38

been using a blag version of getright pro for over a year now,
    never had a problem yet

  34. December 10th, 2007 | 21:05

    @ jkaksdfie

    Hm.. “fairly new”?

If you consider being a rlslog staff member 6months as “fairly new”…

Anyway, as i said i ALWAYS check the releases before i post it! I dunno about other staff members, but i have my own rules before posting. I install release, walk through the app, make a few screenies of it (and NFO also), then if I’m completely satisfied i upload it here. And i always look for really useful application to post… There’s around 50-60 0day apps per week, but only 7-8 worth to post! Also if you ever find any keygen as a trojan/virus (or any other crack, patch), then in 99% cases it’s a FALSE POSITIVE. If you have a crappy & crazy AVG antivirus who flag almost every app which contain a word “keygen” as virus, then do yourself a favor and switch to another AV…

Btw, sorry for my crappy english.

freedownloadmanager crashed also now, but it is a bit faster than reget.

    - Reget makes 560 Kbyte/sec on my adsl line
    - freedownloadmanager goes to 620 Kbyte/sec

I wonder why reget is about 10% slower than freedownloadmanager is.

I will continue to use freedownloadmanager though in future. It messes up all everything. I added 15 GB of files (3 DVDR’s), everything got added to the queue, but all files in the queue had the same timestamp then (08:33 pm), and after restarting the programm some files of dvd3 and some of dvd1 where downloaded at the same time.. This sucks. There is no way of sorting the queue intelligently.

why bother? firefox works just fine for DL management…

and unless you are on dial up (kill yourself) who needs resumable DLing? get a torrent instead

Not everyone has broadband I can only get 512k where I am but some are only able to get dialup so a download manager is essential to some.

getright was very useful way back then when the fastest speed you could get/pay for was 56 kbps dial up and you wanted to download Windows 2000.

    December 11th, 2007 | 05:37

GetRight was always my favorite download manager and it USED to be rock-solid. Unfortunately, the 5.x versions started to have problems and the 6.x ones were pretty unstable. I stopped upgrading at 6.1 which was the last version before the author started to include malware, like a “games” button so that people could play little trialware games while downloading.

As for using a pirate registration; Yes, GetRight will phone home to verify the serial used, but it only does this once and then writes a couple flags to the registry to tell it if the code is good or bad. Most serials listed on the net don’t include the necessary changes to the registry, which is why most serials don’t work. It has to pass GetRight’s internal check and have the proper registry keys set so that it thinks it already checked and that the code is good. At least it worked that way up to 6.1. I’ve never used a cracked or patched copy of GetRight.

Ironic though it may be, I can’t get GetRight to work with my premium Rapidshare account. Can someone answer 2 questions:

    1. How do I add multiple URLS at once, like I can do with NetTransport?

    2. How do I set it up to download using my RS username and password for all RS.com links?

    Thanks for any help!

  51. fear
    December 14th, 2007 | 23:25

@ 50, 51: on your RS account settings go set it to direct download when you click on a RS link (premiumzone -> options -> direct downloads) and it should be fine with it

for multiple URLS right click the download on the window and go to mirror manager, then add them there. set it to accelerate, however many you want and if you want a certain section to have a different mirror, right click the download again and select the section and it should give you a list of the mirrors

You can use getright for RS, i fiddled round with it for a while till i figured all i had to do was login on IE so it sets the cookie (i usually use firefox) and it works fine.
