Gears Of War Proper-Razor1911
RELOADED who previously released Gears of War decided that there release was rubbish and nuked their own release (Nuke: grp.req). This is probably down the fact that the installer is in the wrong language (can be easily fixed) and maybe a bad crack. Dont worry though because Razor1911 are back again for the second time in a few hours to bring us a (fingers crossed) fully working crack for this awesome game. If you in the process of have downloaded any of the older releases all you need is this crack which some nice person in the comments can help you out with. Hopefully Razor have learned from there mistakes and this should be the fully working, 100% working, bona fide, final crack for this game. More info on this game here and here.
Note: You can download the THERMOPYLAE or RELOADED (not recommended though) releases and apply this crack and it will work!

I am sure it should work fine, it should the crack that wasn’t done correct. It’s fine I didn’t even expect GoW to be out the same day.

how come the installer is messed up? I mean, the installer should work fine because it is the same installer for every release out there, just apply the crack (their crack) onto the right folder, overwrite and that’s it. How come the installer could be messed up? really.

*DON’T* dl the Reloaded version and think you are allright by just grabbing the Razor crk… the reloaded install files are FUBAR, you won’t have it installed properly… I don’t think Reloaded requested it to be nuked because of bad crack, but all in all just a non-working release.

Reloaded hasn’t been having a good week, so don’t trust everything they say.
Reloaded’s not got any English language… or so I’ve heard. If that’s the case, it’s pointless… unless you speak any of the languages which IS included (which I don’t know what are).

german, french, italian & spanish (besides english, of course) – if it is a multi5 release, that is.
There is english, it’s just not default installer language, Spanish I think it was, you just need to delete a certain language txt file and you’re fine though..

Big graphics enhancements, but yes you’ve been there and done that too. In 2012, there’ll be a particular iraq war game that changes gaming as we know it but because the iraq war game in 2011 was there and done, you’ll not want to see it.

And just for the record not all FPS’ are the same for example Unreal is completely different to say counter strike not only in setting/GFX but the way they feel and play.
And the COD 4 demo felt and played exactly like COD 2 the only difference I saw was the setting the game is in.

Quick look thru the reloaded iso and it looks like only the ‘ESN’ language files are even in the image. Unless you live in Spain it looks like you need to re-download the whole deal again or learn Spanish.

So, i donwloaded all files provided by bewb, joined them with HJSplit and got a 7.35Gb file named “rzr-gowa” out of it. Now i dont know what to do with this file at all as i tried to add .zip,.rar. and .iso as ending but can’t seem to unpack, mount or burn it. Any hints? Thanks in advance!

I think u need to rename all the files to .rar
For example,
rzr-gowa.001 will be rzr-gowa.r00
rzr-gowa.002 will be rzr-gowa.r01 an so on and then u should unrar the files using winrar..

I have the razor release, same problem its in damn spanish, deleting the lang.txt file does not work. The other file posted does not work either, using that or deleting the file crashes before start. Oh noez helps!

There are different cracks from razor; One with the game, another on here on rapidshare and one on gamecopyworld. Try one of those with razr-gowa release all other releases so far are supposedly nuked. The cracks don’t work in Vista. Xp smokes crack. You can’t change the default settings unless you do them through the wargame configs, because in game you cant save because you need a live profile and the crack bypasses that so the game may crash or freeze.

click f1 create local acount and u CAN’T play coop online. Lan maybe or hamachi server but for any mp u have to have cdkey.. so cross your fingers for a keygen.

Use iso editing software and edit setup.ini
find “EnableLangDlg=N” and change to “EnableLangDlg=Y”
Save Iso and reinstall it will ask for the launguage you wish to install.

Ok guys, help! First of all, no matter what drive I select to install to, it keeps installing to c:\program files….! Second thought, at the end of the install, an error about a missing .dll pop`s up. after i overwrite the crack and i try to enter the game, it crashes, it doesn`t even enter the game

i’ve edited the setup.ini as 324 said and i can now chose any language. installed in eng, but still none of the available cracks is working for me..i can start the game but in the startup-screen all options like play,exit etc. are missing. I believe its because the game uses the SAME refreshrate as in windows, and therefore, when the resolution is set higher, was 1280×960 for me, it uses too high refreshrate ingame, and that causes the monitor to “hipernate”, actually it just turns itself off, to prevent dmg, becuase of the too high refreshrate..
If it is 1024×728 already just drop it down to 960×600

I`ve managed to install (it seems it required the directx version from the dvd) but now, whe I enter the game with the play button from the autorun, after 15-20 seconds it crashes, all I can do it`s make a profile and change the settings! I’ve messed around in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Gears of War\WarGame directory and it’s subs, changing many files with _ESN to ENG and such, but have been unable to change their voices or subtitles in game. Any suggestions?

couple of things that might help dumb fooks like me!
To apply the crack u dont double click it in the razor file!!! you take the file and put it into the installed game directorys… in the binary file… this will copy over a file with the same name in the folder.
Also when you run the game… you double click this new file…. startup.exe in the binary folder rather than clicking run from the disk. This got rid of the constant crash after 20 secs for me…
Also if you downloaded the whole razor proper then this version is in ENGLISH with no editing neede.

I originally had reloadeds rls installed in spanish, it worked fine, and i also downloaded razor1911’s rls which i installed but it crashes.. i now have taken all the ENG files/sound/dialogue from razor’s release, and i am in the process of reinstalling RELOADEDs and after its done, im going to replace all the files/folders/sounds with razors and hope for the best… ill keep u updated

the menu is in english.. as is the VIDEO subtitles.. but then when the game starts everything is spanish again.. noooo haha.

@375, i have the same problem, when i try to open the game from the binaries folder, an error about visual c++ library pop`s up! I think it doesn`t work on vista x64, cuz I haven`t heard anybody saying they`re playing on vista 64 os!
looking around, it looks like there is a TON of ESN files.. going to try and see if I can find them all to rename them..doubt it though

all menues ingame are english after renaming .esn-files to .en.. so are the ingame-tutorial-helps (explanation of the commands and so on).. voices are all still in spanish =\

well i downloaded the razor 1911 version used the razor crack which came with the game, am running windowws ultimate 32bit and it worked brilliant first time and has been for many hours, now all i need to find out is how to save the game??????
Yep im all fully working now… to save game you need to start a profile before you start the game and then it auto saves at the checkpoints…. games auwsome! just stuck at the mo with some burserka that chases u and u need to get him to crash throught the gates for you! hard! any one else done this yet?

For anyone having problems with random crashing. Try unloading windowsblinds before starting up the game, worked for me, no more crashing.
I had created a profile previously with halo 2 for vista. When I had a successful install in v 64 the profile automatically pop’d up at gears menu page. Also the crack with razr 1911 crashed , I had to use one from GCW.
@Blaa, you know whats weird, that you can’t purchase this online and DL it. I would have bought it, I’m not sure the multi has the stuff to warrant to drive a store and purchase.
Installed Fine and I cracked it but it shows the splash screen for 30 seconds shows a black loading screen and crashes to desktop with no error reported. I looked at my screen resolution for the game and made sure its the corrent one. I was getting the live error but I was messing with the wrong file and fixxed that now i stumped on what to do. to save game:
1: If you allready have a live account and it shows up in the login screen, remove it.
2: Make a new one, and only enter a name and don’t select any other options.
3: You now have a offline account and don’t have to enter serial but CAN save Very Happy

To crack it dont startup the crack as windows will not let it run from the razor file…. copy it to the binaries folder in the installed game…
When you run the game u have no desktop starting icon so DONT click play from the disk. This was why mine was crashing!!!
GTake disk out and then start game from the startup.exe in the binaries folder. The one you moved.
This is on my computer running Vista!
Also i stoped ALL other programes i had running before starting game!

Well, i have vista 32, and im using razor1911 proper with razor1911 crack, now i did what you said by replacing startup.exe in binaries, removed burned disk, started it from startup.exe.. the game runs for a bout 2 min. then crashes to desktop, i do not have windowblinds installed and never have.
my specs are;
AMD 4200+ X2
ATi 2900XT 1GB
2.5 GB Corsair XMS
Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit

like some one said then i think you have it all installed right its just now a problem with the game.. If you look at Epics site then its flooded with people with bugs with original copys of the game..
Something i did notice when i was searching forums when i had problems is that if you have an amd chip like yours then there is a patch or file u need to instal… look on the EPIC forums and you will find a link there.. Also make sure your graphics card drivers are totaly upto date.

I’m having the same problem like many others with the razor 9011 release in spanish. The info says delete the lang.txt file, if you do this AFTER installing the game crashes. So, isnt it possible to delete or change in english this file BEFORE installing (in the image file). Then it’ll probably install it in english, or it’ll give you the option to install in what language you prefere.

Dude, if you have the offline account you don’t need to save yourself, the game will do that for you once you get to a checkpoint. The next time you start the game just select Continue Campaign (or something like that), select your difficulty again and your back at where you left of, very easy.

Ya my game doesnt save either, I do however have an offline account that was used for both shadowrun and halo2, gears automatically logged me in at start up and i can go into my LIVE! settings etc, but it dont save.. if i exit the game then start it back up, save games = gone :/

My reloaded release still isnt working in english. Works perfectly in spanish. NO CRASHES. And the game SAVES at checkpoints too. I renamed all .ESN files to .EN and the menus and in game messages ARE in english. Everything is fine now other than the sound and dialouges which are in spanish.
I guess when my RS account is active ill download the CookedPC sounds from razor and copy it into Reoloaded once again and give it a shot.
I’ve edited part of the setup.ini file on the .iso and even though it asks me for English and I choose it, it is still Spanish… maybe if someone posts the setup files from the working Reloaded install files I could test it…
for those who downloaded Reloaded version, its missing english files, that’s why no matter what you do, you can ONLY play it in splanish. you guys have to get the Razor version to play it in english.

and what about the stuttering? the original game stutters no matter what the specs are. is it there in razor version too? should be i guess.

The stuttering is still here but that’s just a bug that I hope will be fixed in a future patch. For now all you can do is play with the video options, I actually made it stop stuttering at one time, I can’t really remember what I did but at least it works. Some people say that having V-sync ON makes the game more fluid, stutter-free.

I downloaded both to attempt to look at them and fix it but inside the folders there are just too many differences. Some basic changes in the subfolders of the Wargame directory, like changing the ESN files to EN will give you menus in English but the dialogue and subtitles will still be in Spanish… I suppose you could just play in Spanish until you download the Razor one…
The Razor1911 release crashes to the desktop for me..with no prompt or error message. I’m pretty sure its not my system. I can run he game fine for a few minutes before it crashes. I have latest drivers for my card. Anyone know how to fix it?

Is the solution i think. Because there are still references to the spanish language. Also if you open up PCTOC you see all the references to all the possible languages but not the english one! Maybe if someone could upload these files from the ENGLISH RAZOR1911 version this might work.

just to make sure:
the razor1911 works FINE in english and you do NOT have to download a crack for the razor version, the one on the cd is working great as well.
the game doesn’t crash at ANY part of the game, the razor 1911 release is just great.

Jack, thanks for the idea about rapidshare. Personally I’ve never used Rapidshare before, but if I can get this in 8 hours versus 1 – 2 days it’s worth 5 bucks I guess.
Can’t believe 2 of the best releases this year (IMHO) have the lowest amount of seeds I’ve ever seen. At this rate I’m guessing Crysis will be seeded by only 1 person.
I see that alot of people seem to have the razor1911 release so could someone please do the effort to upload the files i need. Its only a few kilobytes. For example metatron you could help me out. So i can get my reloaded release working. Downloading the razor release again is not an option way to big.

I think the name should be PCTOC_ENG(lish).txt but im not sure.Are you sure the lang.txt file is the english version ? Because i doubt that too. The PCTOC file seems to be the same as the one i have so thats good. Also my PCTOC_ESN (the spanish version) has alot more info in it.

Saving only works with a local profile if you disable your internet connection before you play because if you don’t it will phone home and try to download an update or some such thing from what I’ve noticed. It even bypassed my firewall somehow but I have yet to figure it out. It seems to be doing it very covertly. So if you can’t save …reinstall it and before you go to play make sure your connection is completely disabled not firewall blocked
ok after investigating a bit more it seems it may not be phoning home but when it detects an internet connection it will switch from your local profile to an online profile. So it will save correctly only when you have your connection disabled. So no need to reinstall just disable connection and play and all checkpoints should be saved correctly.
Alright I found out how you can play even when the game crash after couple of minutes and show you error about Wargame-G4WLive.exe just click alt+tab and get back to your game…about the game save play offline and the game will save you on checkpoints…

The turning off WindowsBlind worked for me.
My game would alwasy crash after 30 seconds or so. After unloading WindowsBlind it works fine. For those of you not using WinBlind, maybe its some other app running causing your problem.
The crashes are caused by windowsblind. I just Confirmed it. Lets wait for a patch

I have the latest nVidia drivers for my 7950GT..I have no problems playing other games like Bioshock and COD4 for example..Has anyone actually had this happen to them and found a solution??
Previously i had the crash problem with an error dialog, but after installing the latest nvidia drivers (163.75) and unloading windowsblind, the problem seems to be resolved. Windows xp btw

so even if you try to install it on another drive, say D:, it tells you that you need to free up space on C: ? That is weird..are you using vista or Xp? how much space do you have left on C: anyway? It will install some necessary files in C: if not the whole game. I say make sure you have atleast 500-700mb there, in any case.
I’ve downloaded the THERMOPYLAE version and the RELOADED version. THERMOPYLAE was Spanish on the install, RELOADED was English install, English start then asks for the DVD. I used the Razor exe crack and now it’s in spanish. WTF? What’s my best option here?

To all those having problems with the install forced to C: this MAY do the trick. I remember having the same problems with the remake of Pool of Radiance years ago and this worked.
Backup your registry before attempting this and ASSURE YOU KNOW HOW TO RESTORE your registry just in case it doesn’t work for you. Need help with the checkpoints.
I had been playing the reloaded version for on spanish with english menus for quite some time.
I got past ACT 2 and the game worked perfectly.
I would shut down my pc come back and play form the last checkpoint i left off from.
Until today, when I had been playing COD4 for 2-3 days…I switched back to Gears and it said NO checkpoint have been saved on my profile.
Where did they go? everything was running fine. I didnt change any file. Help please!

Some antivirus programs detect the WarGame-G4WLive file as malware, and thus the game crashes since the antivirus program is probably not letting this file run.
After disabling or pausing protection of my Kaspersky, I am able to begin an actual game without crashing.

ok, so first off id like to say that your probably best off just getting the razor version. but idk if anyone else has noticed this but if you run the WarGame-G4WLive.exe(instead if the startup thing) with the lang.txt file deleted it starts up in English perfectly fine it just wont play the actual game. so obviously at least the English menu files and stuff are there. just need to figure out how to reference them. =/

i have vista x64 and thermoplaye version. when i dl and overwrited the files, it worked and works, doesnt crashes, everything is in english, including menus, subtitles and voices so try and see for urself.

Someone uploaded, but it didnt work. This time..i had ALREADY changed all the ESN files to EN. Maybe thats necessary for it to work. So i copied ur files and it worked.
Another thing…im afraid ill lose the checkpoints if I dontplay the game for some time. Previously, I took a break from this game (was playing COD4) and when i played it again after 2-3 days, all the checkpoints were gone. I had to start form the beginning. Any fix on this?

The way I do it, I keep FlashGet as my default download manager. And under the options in ur RS account, “check” direct download option. And if you change some option in Flashget, it wont ask you for the confirmation, so I can download a RS link just with one click.

1: Join/Create a hamachi group and have your opponents and teammates join the group.
2: disable network adapter for internet, and lan leaving hamachi as the only active one left.
3: start Gears of War, press enter to get into the main menu. the game is now using hamachi.
4: swap into windows, enable all adapters again, swap back into GoW and join or host lan game

I got the reloaded version.i installed the game,replace the exe with reloaded exe.game starts in spanish.i create an ofline account.my saves are stored.
i try to rename .esn to .en.i got menus in english.

Sometimes yes. Find folder XLIVE in documents. I can’t say how becouse i havent english windows:) and remove your save in this folder. Creat new(game>f1), finish one checkpoint, reboot computer and try “continue game”. I hope you understant me.

I’ve been playing it for about 3 days now and i haven’t had any checkpoint problems, i’ve reboot’d a few times too. Maybe try finding were the checkpoint files r saved and back them up? I think they are saved in my documents/my games/. Hope that helps

@567: I finished atleast half of the game. Had NO checkpoint problems whatsoever. But then I startred Cod4. And after a couple of days…the checkpoints in Gears were gone. I might have restarted my comp..but thats not the problem in ur case so i doubt it that its gonna help. I know where the checpoints folder is. Ill try to back up this time. Letss see. I downloaded the game few weeks ago but cannot get it to start.
When i start it i get a window with Gears of Opening and then it doesn’t go anywhere. My ZoneAlarm says that the game tries to get online, then it stops saying it and the window just stays open and nothing happens.

I’m not sure what your problem is, have you applied the fix before you run the game? There are two files you need to replace/overwrite before launch the game.
After unzip/unrar files, put these files in the following directories. (overwrite files when it prompt)
1) WarGame-G4WLive.exe “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Gears of War\Binaries\WarGame-G4WLive.exe”
2) WarEngine.ini “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Gears of War\WarGame\Config\WarEngine.ini”
3) Start game from “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Gears of War\Binaries\Startup.exe”
This fix worked for me. I hope it does same for you.
Yes I applied the fix but when I start Startup.exe I get a window opening and nothing happens after that. The window just stays.

Did you apply the Razor1911 crack to overwrite/replace Startup.exe? If you did, what is your computer spec?
Maybe your computer don’t meet the minimum requirement. Try to update graphic/sound drivers.

I assume you running vista ultimate 64 bit? I’ve heard there are a lot problems running this game under vista 64bit but I could be wrong. There is another temporary fix but you wont be able to save.
A fix that worked for a few of us so far for the crash can easily be done, go into the Binaries folder and open WarGame-G4WLive.exe.cfg with notepad.

You will then be able to play the game without crash (if you had the same problem as us) BUT BUT BUT
Since Live is removed (which is what caused the game to crash) you WON’T BE ABLE TO SAVE.
Sorry, but the game require you to connect to live to save your progress and edit video/audio options. Live would make the bug crash, this let you play as long as you want without crashes, but game won’t save, even if it did before, since it doesnt save on your PC.

No matter what I do the game crashes before entering a campain, or sometimes at startup, the epic forums are full of complaints about similar problem from hundrets of ppl, game needs a patch badly

Looks like you have windowblind or iconpackger installed in your system. I’ve heard some people fixed the crashing problems by uninstalling the programs described above. But you may have tried that already.
I really have iconpackager installed. And I really dont want to uninstall it since I have an Apogee Icon Premium Suite.
Maybe I should wait until the patch comes out for this game.
I hope all the problems will be fixed by the patch.

Hey for all those that wanna play but it ask for a serial just disconnect your internet connection allowing you to make an offline profile your game saves will remain and when you log back in or play the game at a later time it will start you at he last checkpoint. Just make sure you with your internet connection disabled.

hmm as for the game crashing on startup all i did was minimise the WINDOWS report to a corner and then lt+tab to run the game . .worked smoothly .. . cheers!!!

I need some help guys…
I was using Vista and I downgraded to XP. Before doing that…i saved my XLive folder..which had every save checkpoint file etc etc. I thought just copy pasting it again when I installed Gears of War on XP would let me play the game where I left it. But it doesnt work. It did recognize my profile but it simply said that ‘no checkpoints have been saved.’ Im on ACT 5..and dont wana play it all over again unless theres no other option. Any suggestions?

Yo ppz, Razor1911 version seems to work fine, but I keep getting a HUGE system error after starting campaign mode (not back 2 windows, but blue complete crash screen). Tried running it under default video settings and with antivirus (avg) turned off, same thing. Probably a hardware issue? (nvidia gforce 7300 LE) Havent had any probs with other high end games (witcher, bioshock, u name it)
Any suggestions?

depends on the laptop. its probably not powerfull enought but theres a chance it will be.
Use winrar to extract the .iso then mount the .iso using a program like daemon tools or power iso. Or burn it to a dvd.
It will install like normal, once its done (takes a really long time) open the disc and there is a folder called razor1911 with a file in it, copy the file to your GoW/binaries folder and your ready to go. Assuming the game works at all. Its a POS apparently, I cant play it for more than 2 minutes, it crashes back to the desktop.
There is a patch but no crack for the patch yet. Wait for that.

If this is laptop youre getting…then dont bother downloading this game or any other recent game. the download is 1/4th of ur hard disk capacity. and its gonna run terribly slow or not at all.

i have the rzr-gowa files and i used a file joiner to join them all. i also have some kind of rzr-gowa system information file? that wheni try to open it says it is bad or something. and then a rzr-gowa.sfv file. after joinin gall the split parts together, what do i do? i tried opening that now joined file and it says it is missing rzr-gowa.00 (part 0…? is there such thing as part 0). and ic an’t do it. i am tryign to open it with winrar, what program should i use instead if it is the program that is an issue?

BTW…. you guys are all crazy don’t try to do the rapidshare n stuff, that will take WEEKS. instead get a torrent and download a torrent file you clowns. lol its a lot easier trust me. once it starts downloading, u can just leave your internet and computer on and it wil finish in 24 hours around and you can jst let it download int he background and go to sleep n stuff. lot smarter then having to download 500 different parts

Everything installed perfectly and the game runs, but i cant create a profile. I hit the button and nothing happens. I also get stuck in menus, like if i go into options the escape key doesnt work and i have to ctrl alt delete the game closed. I can play the game fine, but without being able to create a profile and save its pointless… Any Ideas?

Hello everyone. I have a weird bug. When I start the game, the player keeps turning/spinning to the left infinitly. First I thought there’s a problem with my controls so I changed both my mouse and keyboard, same result. I even disconnected both and the player kept spinning on and on. Did anyone have anything similar maybe? Appreicate any help
alright i know this is kind of old and people have said how to fix it but it never works for me
i have just recently dled the razor crack for the game(the full thin w/ all the parts) used win rar to extract the iso file from them and then in stalled it on my computer . all of this worked fine (i think)but then when i copy the crack from the razor911 or watever folder in to my binaries folder, and then when i double click it to start the game, it opens a window asking if i would like to participate in some think and i click play, and then it says the gw4live file (i dont rember wat its called) has encounters a problem and has to clode. it neverworks for me no matter wat i do i have reinstalled it a bunch but all ways get the same problem

I solved my problem finally by removing the joystick. That was the problem. so if any one had the same problem, it might be because of some USB device or something

I solved that same problem installing the 3rd patch from microsoft and the cracking again with the vitality crack.
How To:
1-Install game
2-Use Patch 1 from .\1\Update\update.exe
3-Use Patch 2 from .\2\GearsTU.exe
4-Use Patch 3 from .\3\835_gearspc_tu3_microsoft
5-Copy the Startup.exe from .\2\ViTALiTY\Startup.exe to install directory
READ: Could work by just installing the 3rd patch and cracking but I didnt test that posibility.

hello, im having a problem, im running windows 7 32bits build7100, i've installed it in English, but i do not, and i mean it, i DO NOT want to hear those voices in spanish when im playing Gears of War, but some how even i if put the agreement in English the game intsalls in spanish anyway.
P.S: i've already changed the "Lang.txt" file from 0c0a to 0409 but if i save that change and run the games ti crashes every tiem. HALP!

I have the same problem on how to make the GoW 2 working. Here's the fixed that i do and luckily it worked. just download the file and read the REAM_ME.txt. hope this might help.
