GDC 2007: Microsoft Announces 512MB Memory Unit for Xbox 360
Just a few hours ago, Microsoft announced that on April 3rd, they will release a new Memory Unit for the XBOX360 with 512 Mbytes. The unit will cost $49.99. With this release, smaller units, like 64 Mbytes, will gett cheaper, $29.99 instead of $39.99.
In the same announcement, Microsoft also revealed that the size limit for XBL Arcade games has increased from 50 to 150 MB. Microsoft promises increased flexibility and creative options for developers as a result of the change.
Microsoft had previously announced that as of March 10, 2006, 3 million downloads of Xbox Live Arcade games had been made, at least 600,000 of which had been purchased. Also, over 60% of gamers connected to Xbox Live on the Xbox 360 had downloaded a trial version of an Xbox Live Arcade title. In terms of sales, the best selling Xbox 360 titles were Uno, followed by Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved, Gauntlet, Smash TV, Bejeweled II, and Zuma, in that order.

gosh, 64 MB for 30 bucks, they must be kidding
Yeah yeah, beginner mistakes!
Thanks for mentioning.
This is ridiculous… You could go out and buy a USB memory device for $15.
And then you’ll get twice the storage capacity.
(Sorry about the double post.)

hum if the xbox hard drive is 100 $ whats the point in these usbs
To make money from the mugs stupid enough to pay $50 for 512Mb of storage space.
“hum if the xbox hard drive is 100 $ whats the point in these usbs
”
It’s really only an excuse to be able to increase the size of Live games, at least now they can say that those who own a 360 without the hard-drive have the option to easily upgrade.
How lame is M$? This continues my theory that the this console should have been labelled the “XBOX 3.6″ instead of the 360. They couldn’t get any lamer.
