    Simply put, Garfield sucks. It is an abomination, a complete waste of ink and paper. It never makes me laugh. I don’t think it ever makes anyone laugh. If I ever walk up to you on the street and say “Man, did you read Garfield today? It sure was funny,” shoot me. If I tell you “Family Circus” was funny, shoot me twice. The alien would be in complete control by that point.

    I vaguely recalled that Garfield was funny, once — long ago. There was an avalanche of Garfield watches, coffee mugs, notebooks and other assorted merchandise that flooded the market in the mid-eighties. There had to be something behind the hype, right? It all culminated in the stupid Garfield doll with suction cups on its paws that you could stick in the rear window of your car. I wonder how many people Garfield helped kill due to obstructed vision? I bet no one even kept track.

    Garfield rules!!!!! I’m sure this movie will be regarded as the best movie ever made and outscore ‘The Dark Knight’ on IMDB before the month is out.

    Youre an idiot. This is for kids. Your comment means your a 30-40 year old commenting on a movie meant for kids. Get a life.

    This is meant ONLY for KIDS. Nothing even remotely interesting for people over 10- years old. Triedd watching it, just couldn’t.
    As another poster in a forum said- he stopped watching the movie when he found himself looking for a feeding bottle.

    @8, kazam-

    I always thought opinions are like turds… everybody’s got to let theirs out at some point.

    This actually looks good, judging by the animation style.

    I love Garfield. Ever since I was a kid I’ve loved this cat. I enjoyed the cartoon show moreso though. It was sad when the guy that did the voice of the cartoon show Garfield passed away. Although Bill Murray was an ok choice, the original was much better.

    Anyone have any RS or Megashare links?

    i’m a long time Garfield fan. Only SOME of it is funny. It was mostly in the earlier strips, and only certain jokes. Mostly was entirely deadpan for me, very few laughs. But occasionally it would hit a nerve with me.

    I HATED the live action films because they entirely deviated from the set story of Garfield. Not to mention lame John getting laid?? Never happened in the books.

    So you say this isn’t as good? That’s sad to hear - I will check it out though.

    As for kids, I saw the live 1st movie at the cinema and this girl the whole time kept asking her dad questions like - ‘why does he eat lasagna?’ oh my god so lame and laughing at stupid bits. I shushed her towards the end, I couldn’t hear the dialogue. Stupid parenting. At the end, she looked scared as the walked away, he quickly scurried off, I kind of felt a single piece of popcorn land on my shoulder as they left.. omg payback for shushing

    Garfield and Friends will forever entertain children whether you like it or not.

    Garfield is right up there with The Far Side (just in a different way), don’t even mention Family Circus…blah, so not funny. Dysfunctional Family Circus FTW!

    Garfield was funny for about the first three years, until Davis presumably ran out of ideas and stopped caring.

    the movie has it’s moments. Obviously the flick is geard towards children. It’s a tad mellow in timing. Not bad. Light humor.
