@23: no. it is not. the genre is labled comedy drama..and it isnt anything like that. neither are there dramatic scenes: adam sandler hears he doesnt die and has the mimic quality of a ben stiller.
Nor is it a comedy or ANY fun to watch: there are practically no jokes but the standup crap they talk about and try out.

some mostlikely paid imdb critics dare to write: "Funny People is an in-depth look at the life of stand-up comedians." Sure it isn't, all reach their goals within 2.20hrs…. but it shows what crap satisfies the american market. the world is so complex to them with all the enemies around them, that a movie for kids is good for them. or explain why g.i. joe is number one at the box office?
