Funny Games U S LIMITED DVDSCR XviD-SAPHiRE

Another nice new movie has been released by the scene today this time being horror/thriller “Funny Games”. This movie stars well known British actress Naomi Watts as Ann. This is a very interesting horror movie that I first heard about on Jay Leno and it seemed like a scary disturbing movie. Don’t be fooled by the low video bitrate of 676 kbps as this movie doesn’t have a lot of high motion scenes, audio is quite good coming in at 154 kbps vbr. NOt sure if there are any B/W scenes or watermarks since I haven’t got this yet, so if you no post in the comments. If you’re into these types of films you’ll certainly enjoy this. Download and enjoy :)

(P.S. As you can tell from the name of this release it’s the US version of this movie)

Edit: There is a large blur at the top of the screen

In this provocative and brutal thriller from director Michael Haneke, a vacationing family gets an unexpected visit from two deeply disturbed young men. Their idyllic holiday turns nightmarish as they are subjected to unimaginable terrors and struggle to stay alive.

NZB files are for people w/ usenet (Newsgroup) access. Makes it easier to pull exactly what you want instead of loading headers for a given group and manually tagging what to download.

You need to have access to a server to use them though….and then a program like grabit….

Hey #51, NZB files are great, the make downloading through newsgroups EASY. Just get a program like grabit or hellanzb, install it and double click your nzb file and your app will start downloading. Your news server offers the files you just need the app to download. For a news server address just put in whatever your ISP is (news.rr.com,news.earthlink.net),google a tutorial on it, its simple.

Naomi Watts was born in Shoreham, England on September 28, 1968 to Peter and Miv Watts. Peter Watts, the sound engineer to Pink Floyd, died when Naomi was seven and she began to follow her mother and her brother around England until they settled in Australia when she was fourteen.

    @ 54 Canterbury’s Law

They look at the camera and do the whole rewind thing because the director is making a point about how the audience is complicit in the violence. I bet all of us were happy when the kid blows away one of the killers yet when the other ‘rewinds’ the scene and turns the tables on the kid we are left annoyed and disappointed.

A lot of people wont get this film. It wont be like SAW or Hostel, violence to the max I suppose, as mainstream as it is, god knows there are underground flicks that are truly violent and even too disgusting for me.

This movie aims for the core of your person in all respects. I think its better than the original in terms of acting. Pitt is seriously disturbing, and the last scene when the music kicks in is something that will stick with you forever. I would say that overall the dialog between the two killers in the original is better. While its often the same, it is subtly different.

@ 93……Absolutely right, “remake” was complete waste of time…exact same frame for frame, even used the same camera angles!!!! Pointless………and they say movie studios are running out of ideas!

Pointless? Why? The point of the movie is to point out the sickness in enjoying violence by showing it exactly how it happens in reality. Much of the criticism is against the american market, but the original of course didn’t reach too many americans. That’s why he made an exact copy scene by scene so that it would better reach it’s intended audience.

While we’re at it, no need to be vulgar accusing some random dude.

YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!! I’ve been quietly anticipating the release of this and I did have a sneaky suspicion that this would appear in DVDScreener format :p
Nice quality altough that watermark is annoying. They shouldn’t have blurred it out as it goes across the left hand side of the screen. GRRRR! But still, N-I-C-E release. Thanks RLSLOG

    [edit] Early life
Watts was born in Shoreham, Kent, England, the daughter of Myfannwy “Miv” (née Roberts), an antiques dealer and costume and set designer, and Peter Watts, a road manager and sound engineer who worked with Pink Floyd (her father’s manic laugh and mother’s comment about “cruisin’ for a bruisin’” are featured in Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon).[1][2][3] Watts is pictured, in her mother’s arms, with her father, brother, Pink Floyd, and other crew members, in the hardback edition of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason’ autobiography of the band Inside Out.[4]

Watts has one brother, Ben Watts, a year older and now a photographer in the United States (she confessed that they fought like cats and dogs as children).

Watts’ parents separated when she was four years old, and when she was seven, her father died. Following her father’s death, her mother relocated the family to Llanfawr Farm, on the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales, where they lived with Watts’ maternal grandparents, Nikki and Hugh Roberts.[5]

Watts described her mother as a hippie “with passive-aggressive tendencies” and no money, who used to threaten to send her and her brother to foster care in order to get her parents to provide for them. Although her mother occasionally moved the family around Wales and England, usually to follow boyfriends, she always ended up returning to Llangefni. Watts lived there until she was 14. The family moved to Sydney in 1982. Her grandmother was Australian, which made it easier to obtain the documentation necessary, since Naomi and her family were entitled to Australian citizenship. Of her nationality, she has said, “I consider myself British and have very happy memories of the UK. I spent the first 14 years of my life in England and Wales and never wanted to leave. When I was in Australia I went back to England a lot”.[6]

In Sydney, Watts attended several acting schools, including North Sydney Girls High School, where her classmates included Nicole Kidman, with whom she is still close. In 1986 she took a break from acting and went to Japan to work as a model, but the experience, which lasted for about four months, was fruitless as Watts did not have the physical requirements for a professional runway model and could only hope to be working in promotions, which did not excite her. Watts describes it as one of the worst periods of her life. Upon returning to Australia, she went to work for a local department store and from there she went to work as assistant fashion editor with an Australian fashion magazine. A casual invitation to participate in a drama workshop rekindled her passion for acting, and prompted her to quit her job and dedicate herself to succeeding as an actress
