…just curious–what kind?
(other than typical “my dad bought me this dell and i spilled my starbucks on it, and now it doesn’t work)

so they’ll be cheaper and have more demand for

on my work I have experience with lots of brands,
for DELL (inspiron + lattitude) I can say we had lot’s of problems with keyboards,
for lenovo (T61) there are loads of problems with drivers for XP
and for fujisu (E4010) we have lots of problems with laptops not wanting to boot

probably these problems can not only by brand specific, but also type specific, so I’m not saying that all these brands have big issues, but some types surely have

this toshiba laptop i have has fujitsu’s best thing on the market (200gb 2.5inch 7200rpm). its the best laptop HDD i’ve ever had, so i have no doubt the 320 will rock socks too.

Lenovo Y710 Laptop comes with 500GB, but you can swap out these two smaller 250GB hard drives, being how it comes with two hard drives and insert either the Hitachi or Samsung 500GiB HDD’s so you end up with 1TiB of memory storage.

Another nice feature of Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 is that you can boot via USB since the BIOS does support this directly. And it offers Boot Menu, so you can dual boot Vista (if you need it) and or XP without having to use a Vista MBR. Swapping HDD made simple…

Even the Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 is very nice, as it’s only $600 (TigerDirect) and Lenovo provides XP hardware drivers online. The VeriFace (face recognition) software works in XP too!

i just bought a 320 gb samsund hd, which is reported to be faster than its 7200rpm 250gb counterparts. so this fujitsu hd isn’t really special.

btw samsung is also the first one to sell a 500gb 2.5 inch hd with standard height, something the others are not able to produce.

Samsung FTW as far as 2.5 inch hds are concerned…

3 out of 3 fujistu laptops I had, died after one or two years of use. that brand really sucks.
I’m on a samsung right now.

Yes there are already 320gb lappy hdds out but only at 5400rmp (spin speed) (they operare slower)
This is talking about the higher performance 7200rmp drives

nice for laptop users hopefully prices would drop soon enough. though when it comes to hard disks, its always been fujitsu and hitachi when it comes to “firsts” e.g. first 1TB HDD, etc. but I am a Seagate and Western Digital fanboy eversince
