Sure they were no good during WWII and no good now. Slap it up them.

The subject is the french scene, and I guess French teams are not useless for example the Team CarNaGe was the first team to release a CAM the day of the launching of the last Indiana Jones. So they have provide to the us scene some video!! I mean some of the Canadian and french teams have more balls than in the US scene !

PS: Anyway the picture of your article is so funny

all those people saying bad things about France and/or the French are either jealous or incults.because they have a better way of life/food/country/people,etc...doesn't mean they are cowards or anything.they are trying to protect what they have and are renowned for.
reading such inepties remind me of the nazis talking about the jews in the same way.
maybe the british ARE nazis in disguise ( a bad one though ).
long live France and the French and don't give up the fight against idiots and ignorance.
the French have saved the americans from the english...the scots from the english ( the english again? )...and the english from the germans ( thanks to the resistance ) and still the english ( not all of them, thank god some are more intelligent ) have the cheek to say they have saved the french from the germans?
if it wasn't for france and it's involvement through it's resistance the whole europe would be speaking german by now.i'm not saying the english were incapable or anything ( far from me saying that )with all my respects going to the soldiers who fought and gave their lives so bravely to help freeing france from their invaders.it's just that some people don't know what they are talking about and they give a wrong image of this country's population.
sorry for being so long but my heart is so sad when i read all these racists comments ( because that's what they are, let's be honnest).
peace to all and get rid of the incults who don't have a clue of what they are talking about and make a bad reputation of honorable people.
a bientot mes amis...

"Of course it’s sold for leech, but this is something that’s never talked about."

It has been that way for a very long time. More than 20 years ago, I and a couple of friends, for a small amount received every week a large box filled with floppy disks with all the Amiga warez releases that were uploaded to one of the major Amiga/PC Warez BBSes (and the WHQ/EHQ of quite some famous groups from those days. e.g. Fairlight, Paradox, Quartex, Razor 1911).

In the days of 14k4/21k6 modems this was however the only way to get that amount of warez without leaving your house or using CCs or 'public' university dial-outs ;-)

IT'S A CONSPIRACY!

The product is "released". We want it! The scenes then turn around and give out sources of random people to intice some cash out of Anti-Piracy Companies then the Anti-Piracy Companies prosecute random people. When they are fired or don't want to work for them anymore they quit or get "busted".

"they" backed down? The french (obviously) had a larger civilian resistance than the uk. The uk government went to war against iraq - that doesn't mean the majority of the populace agree with it. At least the french public fought back and formed a resistance... unlike the british idea of revolution which is to stand around waving placards around (at least until they are told not to - in which case they do as the filth tell them and run off home. obviously there are some decent activists out there, but they are in very short supply sadly :/ ).

As for unhelpful to the english - most ENGLISH people are unhelpful to other english people. There have been very few countries I've been to (including england) where people seem to like the english. :> I'm just glad I can pretend to be from another country when abroad. =]

The existence of a thing called a "scene" (how wanky) and its silly and ever-so-self-righteous "rules" is actually a *major vulnerability* of "our" side in the IP wars. In its way, "the scene" is as serious a detriment to free culture as the RIAA is, for two reasons: (1) RTFA - idiots playing out idiot drama, which was not created in a vacuum, it arose in an atmosphere where A and B both think "this is how things ought to be", but differ, and at least one thinks "the other ought to do things my way"; (2) the existence of "groups" in a "scene" gives rise to an expectation that *they*, and therefore not *we*, are responsible for creating and releasing video files, and therefore *we* will not do it because *they* will.

The solution is really, really simple. Filesharing must become something that *everybody* does. Just buy or trade or rent DVDs, VCR cassettes, whatever. Record TV shows, VCR cassettes, etc to DVD. Then just rip the DVDs, including those TV shows, to some sensible and easily-watched format like AVI. (Or record directly to a file, if you have a device that will do so; there are many available.) *Actually watch* the resultant file to make sure that its graphics and sound *actually work*. Then name it in some sensible manner (and preferably not with dots in the filename!). The ideal name is "TV Show Name S00E00.avi" or "Movie Name.avi". DO NOT attach hero tags, your name, shout-outs to your grandma, and various other wankiness, identifiers of you, and vulnerabilities, to the name. If you want to do that sort of thing, create a text file called "TV Show Name S00E00.nfo" or "Movie Name.nfo" and put all that stuff in there where those of us who do not give a damn--or wish to protect you from the danger your ego is putting you in--may delete it. Indicators of what it is, such as "DVDRip" or "HDTV", or when it aired, what network it was on, what year it was released, what actors are in it, its IMDB URL, etc are all useful. Indicators to *you* are detrimental.

Remember, *nobody cares that it was you*. Nobody *wants* to care that it was you. You, if you have any rationality in you, do not want others to care that it was you. "Credit" cannot possibly help you in any way. Stop thinking of it as "credit" and start thinking of it as "evidence against me". *It's just a file.* Where'd it come from? Who knows? Isn't it nice that *we all*, not as "warriors on the anti-IP side", but rather as sharing human beings, create and share these files for each other, from the TV shows (and books and comics and radio and CDs) we like, rather than relying on clubs of fractious wankers to do it for kudos in the fractious wanker club?

As any reader of cyberpunk will tell you, the most insecure part of any system is the human operator, the "meatsack". Unlike data, you cannot be copied, you cannot instantly flash from place to place. *You*, the piece with a body, are *vulnerable*. When it becomes computationally more difficult to stop people from sharing IP through computer-related means (let's face it, from an IT systems point of view the whole kerfuffle is stupid, because "copyright" is not a computable property of data), they will switch to legal and social means, because *that* is where the meatsacks can be reached by their claws. They have done so more and more over the last ten years; this is no coincidence. The only way to protect yourself, and each other, is to remove vulnerabilities. If you love it, set it free: do not let it come back, because it is not yours.

Then upload the file somewhere (not *your* file, *the* file, you own no files - that's *the whole point* of this, to defeat the concept of file ownership) and create a .torrent file to point to it. Share it until there are at least 10 seeders. Or otherwise anonymously distribute it, like through this new Owner-Free File System thing. Or hand it around on sneakernet with USB drives. Then move on. Rip and share another thing.

51 - im high. "people making money off the scene huh
hmmm wonder how much martin makes everytime one of those full page ads pops up. 200,000 uniques a day……"

Typically, a site with this kind of traffic and a reasonable click thru rate should be generating between GBP 450 and GBP 750 per day in advertising.

That's why the "authorities" go after the site owners........

I've been to france, and they are very un-helpful to the the english.
They also backed down in ww2 to let the germans through france to get to britain.
But to be fair they are quite liberal, and do make nice bread.

"
Scene members and groups used to get scene banned if they got found out selling releases for money…
"

kekeke, the "scene" has always been about selling releases - wether that was vcd/psx games to asia so they could be silvered (back when groups had decent suppliers, unlike now when most suppliers are kids BUYING silvs) or if it is a group selling leech on sites/letting people "donate" hardware for leech.

Or what about calling cards? plenty of groups got in on that money making opportunity - just ask max/pdx. ;p

That's been going on for 20years, and there is even more money to be made now.

Any group that doesn't wind itself down after it's been narqed is seriously stupid.
