Freeway – Free At Last (2007)
An American rapper Freeway who worked with such giants of this genre as Jay-Z or Kanye West released a new album Free At Last and you can get it now thanks to group WHOA.
This Philly rapper and Sunni Muslim debuted in 2003 with Philadelphia Freeway, which showed off his raspy flow and gift for sharp-eyed rhymes about violence and poverty. Then, for reasons that aren’t clear, Freeway all but disappeared for four years, although he apparently maintained some industry connections: Free at Last is executive-produced by Jay-Z and 50 Cent, and has cameos from Scarface and Busta Rhymes.
Still, Freeway’s impressive rhymes dominate the mix: On tracks such as “Reppin’ the Streets,” the ex-dealer raps about street life with heartsickness and thick details, evoking a lesser Ghostface or Jeezy with a quicker tongue and more feeling. The production is state-of-the-art soul-hop — sample-specked funk that stays hooky and relatively lean. Over the flutes and soul-diva coos of “When They Remember,” Free delivers an anguished but nimble sermon about his own struggles as a rapper; more than any other, the track shows off the mix of grit and pleasure that defines Free at Last.
Leslie Pridgen (born July 8, 1979 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) better known as Freeway is an American rapper signed to Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella imprint under Def Jam Recordings. He is notable for rhymes which are checkered throughout his verses, and for the long beard he keeps due to his Muslim faith. He got his name from the infamous drug trafficker “Freeway” Ricky Ross, similar to another rapper called Rick Ross. He was a member of the rap group State Property.

Whenever rap/hiphop etc is released there are only positive comments posted. Whenever metal is posted there is a barrage of anti-metal comments, what gives here? I personally despise rap, but I don’t feel the need to say “LOLZ RAP SUX AND IS DEAD LOLZ! METAL 4EVA!” as can be seen from Metal music posts. Also when was the last time that metal was posted? There has been several other genres posted but god knows when the last metal one was, come on moderators there are new metal albums out every week doesn’t anyone release torrents of these? I know that RLSLOG is for information, and granted I do search for torrents elsewhere but I strive for the comments about the new releases so that I don’t waste bandwidth on something, or otherwise try something that I wouldn’t have heard of without RLSLOG.
