Well there have been a crap load of problems with the R5 of this movie, as no line audio was available and the theatrical version was shorter than the unrated R5 :( The audio was actually taken off of a preview DVD so its not line, but they labeled it that way anyway :D

Quality: The audio is great, you can hear everything clearly and its comparable to studio AC3 :) The video is great too, it does tend to be a little blurry at times imo, but its still great as the retail won’t be out until September.

Struggling musician Peter Bretter (Jason Segel) has spent six years idolizing his girlfriend, television star Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell). He’s the guy left holding her purse in paparazzi photos and accidentally omitted from acceptance award speeches. But his world is rocked when she dumps him and Peter finds himself alone. After an unsuccessful bout of womanizing and an on-the-job nervous breakdown, he sees that not having Sarah may just ruin his life. To clear his head, Peter takes an impulsive trip to Oahu, where he is confronted by his worst nightmare: his ex and her tragically hip new British-rocker boyfriend, Aldous (Russell Brand), are sharing his hotel. But as he torments himself with the reality of Sarah’s new life, he finds relief in a flirtation with Rachel (Mila Kunis), a beautiful resort employee whose laid-back approach tempts him to rejoin the world. He also finds relief in several hundred embarrassing, fruity cocktails.

    If you invert one of the stereo channels the audio sounds a lot more normal… I don’t know if anybody else noticed that.

    This movie has been nothing but stress and a headache.
    Also, when I saw the crappy version, maybe it was the quality and the bad sound, but I just don’t get why it has such a high rating from so many people.
    It seemed mediocre to me. Nothing special.
    But I am willing to try again, but wait….
    Again with the issues with sound, etc.
    This movie has a Alsatian Nad Cruncher Bad Mojo curse on it!
    It will shrink your wee-wee the size of a peanut!

    yup, just downloaded and skimmed through, waste of bandwidth. audio is pretty bad, sounds like mono sound, never heard of a dvdscreener with sound like this?? video is crappy too, very blurry. i’d rather have the scr with the giant universal watermark.

    Adobe Audition, but almost all audio software can do it. And adding more bass makes it even more better :)

    no i can’t…

    If you want to do this yourself using Audition, just invert one of the stereo channels. After that, copy the audio file. Past in new file. Effects–>Amplitude & Compression –> Multiband Compressor

    And than set the blue one on Solo, and increase the volume. You can do this a few times until you think the bass is loud enough. Make sure the blue “soundwaves” stop around 100 Hz by sliding the wite lines.
    Then add the normal (inverted) audio in Multitrack together with the one that only has bass. Then merge into a new file and add the audio with VirtualDub. Done.

    for me there is no bass content on the sample, if you select mono in vlc player there is significant improvements but the audio has a lot of audio artifacts like its 32kps mp3 files, very “splashy”
    i wont be downloading, just thought i d share

    If you use VLC change the audio device to Mono instead of stereo, sounds absolutely normal. :)

    yes i did. Open the avi with Virtualdub. File -> Save WAV…
    Easy as that.

    @YAYAH

    oh ok. But make sure you use the Full processing mode because when I just save the WAV without setting in Full processing mode I lose audio on the end of the file (I believe this is because it is VBR, it also gives you that warning when opening the file).

    Maybe you could download Audition ;)

    Audio quality doesn’t bother me. It’s the fact that 3 minutes in, the audio blanks out for a few seconds 3 times

    Audio quality is fine, but after only watching three minutes of the movie, the audio has gone out four times already.

    It’s only for a second or two, but it’s kind of a nuisance

    Update your browser. Its probably that you just dont see the scroll bar that appears for the rest of us on longer posts.
    Had this too and its fixed after updating my browser
