True, it still looks amazing, but 1080p rips look that much better on larger sets. LOL whining because you can only afford 720p sets.

We don’t burn it, we hook our PC up to our HDTV.
8800 nvidia gts oc hooked up to my 42″ 1080p Toshiba here. I have to sit about 1 foot in front of my tv to notice the difference between my retail blu-rays and these 720p rips, the biggest difference really isn’t about pixels its in subtle color changes like when something fills the screen with a solid colored object with shadows and shades.
Sorry to repeat but I’ve always wondered if it’s worth the time and effort:

@ Neesh: This movie is already at 6.55 gigabytes and that is a compression of the original blu ray that was somewhere between 20 and 50 or so gigabytes, so the answer is that the more you compress it (less gigabytes), the worse the quality will be(forget about dts 5.1 @ 1 gigabyte including the movie)

when you have a 4.41 gig and convert in with convertx2dvd the picture does get better as a file of 1.3gig. (In my Opinion)

That’s right, in my case; I hook up my laptop to my HDTV via a HDMI Cable. If its .avi, I play it on my HDTV through my Playstation 3 which is connected to my laptop via wireless.
Does any anyone how you can play .mkv files on PS3?

In my case I stream from my external harddrive connected to my Mac (using connect360) to my xbox360.

Im not sure about Xbox, but I have a ps3 and it doesnt play .mkv files which are usually the HD movies posted. Probably the same applies to xbox. Perhaps you can convert it, dunno, seems like a lot of work
