Football Mogul 2008-TiNYiSO

Here’s just a quick post about newly released tiny sport manager Football Mogul 2008. As we have many readers from Europe and other regions, it’s important to say this is actually an American football, not soccer. The game has no protection at all so you won’t have to apply any crack.

Do you have what it takes to build a dynasty? Football Mogul 2008 is the football game for fans who want their success on the field determined by their strategy, not their reflexes. You call the shots with full control over rosters, trades, draft picks and contract negotiations.

Football Mogul 2008 also gives you complete control on the field, with the option of calling every play and managing the clock — or leaving it up to the computer.

  • Improved game play and artificial intelligence
  • Ratings for over 2200 players
  • Updated career stats for every player
  • Includes rookies from the 2007 draft

Thanks for the release. Note that the “Football” here is NOT what americans are the only ones (in the whole world lol) like to call “Soccer”.

Right, so you mean this game is about the wrong kind of football. Thanks for clarification.

Wow, you people are really hateful. Not one of you actually posted about the game itself. It’s not like RLSLOG only puts out things from the US, so for the people that were trying to remind them that the US is not the center of the world, you can drop that. Be less ignorant, and more respectful of other cultures (Wow, an American getting to use the “Be respectful of other cultures” line… that has to be a first). As a fan of the Baseball Mogul line, I downloaded this, and wasn’t too happy with it. The financial side of it is a bit out of whack. It’s difficult to have both money for bonuses, and money under the cap when you can’t redo contracts until they’re expired. If the financial situation was fixed, it would be an enjoyable play. I hope that you guys post on Baseball Mogul 2009, which is released on disc this week in the USA. Can’t wait to play that one.

Actually,America IS the center of the world. We are the preemminent super power in the world today. We give more money to the United Nations and the rest of the world than ALL OTHER COUNTRIES COMBINED!!!!Think about that for a minute. If not for the “arrogant” USA,there would be many more humananitarian disasters in the world and much more suffering. Please try to contain your jealousy.Who does EVERY NATO country(and more)come running to when they need help??That’s right, the “arrogant”USA.I agree with you.We should mind our business and let the world go it’s own way,but every time we try, some bozo pulls a 911 and we have to clean up the worlds cesspool again.

This post was about a GAME,not your problems with our sport of football. We call a game in our country football. You call a different game in your country football. Why is this such a big deal??It’s just a sport, don’t get your panties in a twist….:)

Not everything is named logically. Few turkeys are from Turkey. Hamburgers aren’t made out of ham or from Hamburg. I do wish the Americans had picked another name for their game cause football was already taken…

    No, because of gene recombination.

Hamburg Sandwich => hamburger. And turkeys were identified by pioneers as turkey-coc ks, birds from Turkey. Only football is like #14 said. Absurd.

    @31
Too bad Germany isn’t closer to USA. You would be speaking German, because the only things you can fight with are:
    - primitive Arabic tribes,
    - Germans weakened by Russia and the rest of the world combined.
You even lost war in Vietnam and couldn’t take care of Korea!

It seems to me that the soccer fans started this flame fest. Why do you get your panties in a knot about the term football.
Here are a few points to think about:
-the term soccer was coined in England (from association football)to avoid confusion with other forms such as but not limited to rugby.
-it is not true that the entire world except the US use the term “football” to refer to the sport administered by FIFA. Most of the english speaking world calls it soccer. The world champions don’t call it football either.
-the versions of football played in Canada and the US (and they are different like Rugby League is different from Rugby Union) has been around for about 150 years. That’s longer than soccer has been played in most countries (FIFA has only existed for about 100 years)

Europeans are remarkable arrogant and ignorant about the game they call “football.”

    Facts:

The first codified, standardized, and written rules of a game called “Football” was actually a “Rugby Football” code, where the ball was carried past a goal line, and extra marks were given for kicks after the touchdown. (This code is the direct predecessor to the original rules of Football in N. America.)

The first two official football clubs (there is some dispute of which of the two were actually established first) were both Rugby Football clubs.

The oldest football club playing to a standardized code was a Rugby Football club.

Ruby Football eventually dropped the “Football” from practical discussion of the game, shortening it to just “Rugby” N. American football, from around the mid-1800s to the end of the century. This change in terminology simply wasn’t followed in N. America, where the game “football” was being developed with the original Rugby football rules as the base, around the same time, in the late 1800s.

The oldest professional “Football” league is for N. American football, a much more direct decedent to the original code of rules of the first standardized “football” games than soccer.

The term “soccer” to describe the “no-hands” game wasn’t coined in N. America. It’s was first used in England.

So, in both the terms of a codified, standardized, written set of similar rules, and in terms of organization, American “Football” has far more justification using the term “football” than the European game does.

Funny how Europeans often accuse Americans about only caring about the popular majority, and not respecting other cultures, yet, when it comes to the game of “football” they insist that they have the right to the name because their sport is more popular globally, and they disrespect N. Americans for using the term in their culture for a sport which has every right to use the name.
