Fools Gold 720p Bluray x264-Chakra
Well known group Chakra that started releasing PS3/Bluray ready movies in small sizes, brings us the 720p version of Fools Gold. There is quite a lot of hate for them in the scene right now as they’re the only group that does this and the scene rules don’t allow it, but I hope there will be a 2008 version that will. This is also undersized by 314MB but thats most likely the room needed for when this is converted to PS3/Bluray format using their handy mkv2bluray file, but I think there is a nuke coming 
Quality: There are uncropped black bars on the top and bottom of the video which is a pretty big nuke reason along with the smaller size but besides that, the quality is pretty damn good, with a nice bitrate of 4537kbps and AC3 640kbps audio all ready to be burned and watched on your HDTV (if you have a bluray player that is), is one hell of a release. English, French, and Spanish subs are also included

You’re absolutely right there’s a nuke that will be coming. SiNNERS said in their NFO for PROPER of Cloverfield that they will PROPER every release that Chakra makes like it did with Cloverfield and now with this. Rules are rules and going on a one-group rampage against them isn’t gonna earn them any brownie points
I dont know about the rest of you but I personally like the fact that Chakra takes the time to put the conversion in there. There are plenty of groups out there that will make the mkv file for the Hi-def lovers out there but I dont have the ability at the moment to run a cable to my home theatre setup at this time to stream. If I can burn and play on my ps3 that is outstanding. Also blu-ray burners and discs are still spendy and until they drop in price most people will have to resort to streaming or appreciating what Chakra is doing for the scene. So Chakra if you read this, let me extend my thanks for taking the time to make them burnable for me.

HiDEF media/burners is beyond reach for most of people, i completely agree with their move on releasing 720 version that will fit on a dvd5.
have you heard about the new toshiba hidef format? avc on dvd5/9? kind of like an extension to the existing dvd format.

Thoughts:
1) links go down, its nice to have a few sets to choose from, cause if you get to a post late, not all of them still work
2) traffic is spread amongst lots of different sets of links - means its less likely RS takes them down in 10mins or less.
3) people thank the linkers because they’re contributing to the service - they profit from all the download traffic (in RS points) but still, they’re doing something they don’t have to do, which makes the rlslog experience better.

Instead of acting like an ass, Chakra should just tag their release with something different just like WMV groups like IGUANA or NOVO do, for example:

awesome, at last a group is givin people something useful. who wants to watch hidef stuff on a tiny pc monitor when they can get chakras release, stick it on a disk and play it through their ps3 onto a proper sized HDTV! lol. ive spent months converting the useless mkvs into a usuable format. ive seen forums with 100s of people all wanting the same thing…mkvs that will play on the ps3 (and xbox360) now a group is providing what the masses want. well done! i hope chakra ignore sinners and septics bleating and continue with more releases, if sinners etc want to proper them then thats their decision. im sure many people will enjoy their releases too and thats fine.but dont put down chakras releases because it doesnt conform to outdated scene rules. end of the day who cares if its nuked? sinners and septic dont own the internet. being nuked doesnt stop anyone downloading it. they just sound like a bunch of kids all gangin up and tellin chakra theyre not in their gang anymore.lol. chakra should go and make their own, better gang

What Chakra is doing for the scene is cutting edge. It’s just that most of the idiot sheep nukers don’t realize it yet. These rips are being done to be able to burn to a dvd5 or dvd9 and playable on a PS3 or other blu ray player standalone. I remember many years ago when SVCDs we’re introduced to the scene and everyone was pissing and moaning about ‘why are you releasing that crap!’ UNTIL they realized that the SVCDs could be burned to cd and played on just about any DVD player with close to DVD quality. I do believe there is room in the scene for this type of rip. Maybe Chakra should release two versions (e.g. DIAMOND/REPLICA) Diamond releases are for .avi or dvdrip format, and REPLICA takes care of the DVD5s. By all means please don’t discourage this type of rip because those of us with the equipment really appreciate all the effort. I personally think all hi def rips should be 1280×720 (720p) or 1900×1080 (1080P) as the native format. Most PCs are now able to play native 720p or 1080p .mkv’s anyhow, that would save time for those of us that get those movies and have to re-encode. Just my two cents. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK CHAKRA SOME OF US APPRECIATE IT!!!!

1) If the links do go down, its because they are being redirected from piracy sites such as this one. Instead of filtering the files that are upload somehow, they could just delete the links that get posted on rlslog, iwillsearch4u, plube, irfree, rapidsharefilms and the others

Chakra needs to fill the space with blackbars because blu-ray players and even the ps3 demand at least 720 horizontal resoultion otherwise, the picture will be shifted and you will get a green bar at the bottom of the picture which exactly will be 720 / 1080 - horizontal resolution of the movie so chakra can’t do anything about it, if they want to release it in ps3 format.
Personally, I really like the format, because my pc isn’t just up to par to handle 1080p but my ps3 can :-). Anyone remeber how long it took to introduce svcd to the scene, it was exactly the same thing then, and now chakra tries to change the rules and gets nuked everywhere but sooner or later the scene will realize, as they did with svcd, that they need to change the rules and make an own category for ps3/xbox360/blu-ray player compatible releases.

I don’t think sinners or septic doubts that there is a need for ps3 compatible rips. They’re just don’t like how the rules aren’t followed. Both types of releases can coexist. They just need a new tag or something to show that it’s blu ray compatible. Just like how the SVCD rips were tagged SVCD.

Let’s face it, you’re not gonna download these releases from your PS3 or your home theatre setup. You’re gonna download them from your PC. This means that the first point of entry is PC. What you do with it after all is entirely up to you. If your PC can’t handle playing MKV files then perhaps you should invest in a better PC, which is what I did. The Scene already differentiates between XviD and DVDR rules so those who want to play on standalone players are taken care of. Perhaps something similar needs to be done for HD rules. However, barging in like you own the place and undercutting the quality by as much as 10% to make a choice for people who’d rather choose themselves is not the right way to go at all.

1) Youre wrong. RS et al dont just delete all links from rlslog - check back on some of the old rlslog posts - youll see some links work, while most of them dont. people posting new links makes rlslog a USEFUL RESOURCE rather than just another blog you have to check everyday - thats why these rules invite people to leave their links.
2) Maybe you didnt understand me, but no, youre wrong.
3) Youre a STAFF MEMBER - you make the posts. you are NOT some autocratic ruler of what gets said in your posts. its not spam if people post links, read the rules.

as for having to skip through all the ’spam’ links - theyre in bright red for heavens’ sakes - are you colour blind or just very lazy?

firstly, my friend, the main reason people call you a n00b is because you act like a 13yr old kid. the mVs AR maths debacle was bigtime negative PR for you, because you shouldnt have been poking fun at a scene group in the first place, regardless of whose maths was right. so a lot of people will call you a n00b, and guess what? the more you react to it, and ‘fight back’ as you put it, the more they will flame you.
as you point out, noone can really be banned from here, so all youre doing is starting a flame war. now, unless you know something i dont, you are only one person, whereas theres a lot of people visiting rlslog keen to have a dig at anyone who says something dumb (we’ve all done it). so who do you think will win if the flame war goes on?? you? dont think so.
all im trying to say, Marceli, is that people are mean to mean people, and nice to nice people. there will be a few people who call you names, but grow up and rise above it - what do they matter to you? come to think of it, why are you even reading comments on your own posts if they offend you so much?
and my point about your language was simply that people have to go out of their way to find ways of swearing that pass the comments box, but you just freely fire off cusswords - its rude and not particularly endearing. @42 what are u on about vanman?? you download dvds and mp3s onto the pc first too…but most people play them on a dvd player or mp3 player. same difference with the mkvs…download them on the pc then we want to play them on a ps3 or bluray player! you even make one of the best arguments for this type of release urself. u say that xvid and dvdr have rules so standalones are covered…well the ps3/bluray player doesnt have rules. so isnt it time that there where?? theres 12million ps3s in the world so theres plenty of demand for this type of thing. if u want to watch the mkv on ur pc then get sinners/septics stuff, if u want to watch it on a ps3 then get chakras. all we are asking is to not stop this new standard, lets see if all the big groups can show they are decent enough to put aside their differences and come up with a new set of rules to cover these releases. its not some kind of competition to see whos best and put down other peoples hard work. theres plenty of room for everyone to play nice together
Why people don’t just build HTPCs is beyond me. It takes bugger all to change your PC to one.
Why bother burning discs every time you want to watch a movie or TV show that you’ve downloaded.
I can’t even be bothered to get up to put in a disc.
