FolderMarker Pro v2.1-DVT

FolderMarker Pro is something what may be useful for everyday use. This lil’ app lets you to change icon/color of every folder on your system what makes em more recognizable. Highly recommended! NOTE: If you get virus/trojan warning for “patch.exe”, don’t worry it’s false positive, which means there is no virus/trojan in it.

Description:

How many folders do you have on your computer? Scores of them? Hundreds? Thousands? Are all of them are alike: yellow folder, yellow folder, yellow folder, yellow folder… It’s so easy to be confused with such a routine!

Folder Marker is your small assistant, an ardent fighter for your convenience and comfort in any kind of computer work. Use Folder Marker to mark your folders. One mouse-click and it becomes clear at once which documents have a high priority, and which of them have a normal or low priority. It is easy to see which operations have been finished completely, which are partly done and which haven’t been started yet.

Do you fear that someone might unintentionally delete information necessary to you? Mark a folder, and other users will notice at once that that folder contains important information.

By allowing you to change the folder icons, Folder Marker will help you to cope with the standard yellowness. Folder Marker adds an item “Mark Folder” in the folder popup menu. Changing a folder icon is now a piece of cake.

Folder Marker is for anyone who wants to make working with a computer more convenient.

Is it that hard to make a folder; it actually takes a whole software for it? Geez, I think Mr. Z already has this software to arrange all of his porn collection in a good manner. You know, pervs!

BAH! I would rather make my own folder images myself.
But colorizing each section has inspired me for when I format this beast.

I made most of my regularly visited folders customized so they are easy to recognize just using the options built into windows so what is the point of this program.
are people really that stupid they cant right click go to properties then customize folder.

    January 10th, 2008 | 18:13

Sounds like an interesting program…but is this “false positive” the same as the “false positives” that come with every CORE release? Cuz those aren’t false positives, the CORE group is actually a virus spreading group, not a release group. And I’ve used Bitdefender and Spysweeper on their releases, so its not like its cheapie AVG coming up crying wolf.

I customize my own folders, but this program makes it really easy to mark and unmark folders. Great for all your music, green for good stuff, and red for.. xD.
But a software for such a small thing seems to much for me, if i get software for all that stuff my pc will be overflown. I would much rather download a pack of icons. Or just organize your folders proper and you dont need fancy colours :) .

    January 10th, 2008 | 23:57

This prog may all be very well and nice, however, if this program goes t*ts up then it could potentially corrupt Windows Explorer and you may be locked out of your PC

What a rip off of the excellent open source and free iColorFolder, available at SourceForge: http://icolorfolder.sourceforge.net/

While I realise the hypocrisy of decrying ripping off of other software here on rlslog, I am mainly pointing it out because iColorFolder does a better job with less resources and you never need to worry about deciding if a “false positive” AV report is true or not.

to all monekys above complaining about this application:
I work with computers, and in very big projects, FolderMarker really comes alive, when you need to organize network folders that must be used by a whole company.
In my own laptop, its also useful, when you have a lot of data.
If you complained about this release, then shut up, it’s a shame what’s happening in this site, I think it should be made invite only and get rid of all the kids one by one…

  43. AkakioS
    January 12th, 2008 | 00:53

Go with loco’s advice … icolorfolder, free, harmless, light, takes skin packs
