Florida teenage commited suicide online

A Florida teenager who used a webcam to live-stream his suicide Wednesday was reportedly encouraged by other people on the Web site. Abraham Biggs, 19, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., had been blogging on an online body-building message board and had linked to his page on Justin.tv, a live video streaming Web site, where the camera rolled as he overdosed on prescription pills, according to Crane. Biggs, who had reportedly been discussing his suicide on the forums, also posted a suicide note. The video and blog postings have since been removed from the sites.

Crane said comments on the thread included an exchange about whether the image of Biggs’ motionless body was a still photograph or a video, and eventually resulted in one of the site’s visitors calling the police, who tracked down the teen through his computer IP address. Biggs was pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 19 — about 12 hours after he had begun blogging about his suicide. The official cause of death was suicide combined with drug toxicity. Crane said that benzodiazepines and opiates were found near the body, but a blood toxicology to quantify just how much Biggs consumed is still under way. Crane said that at least one of the prescription drugs was in Biggs’ name. Biggs had struggled with depression, according to his father, and had been prescribed medication for bipolar disorder.

    People really need to stop blaming the teen and calling him a moron. He was depressed. He had his own problems. Just because he isn’t a kid in Africa starving doesn’t mean he would all of a sudden have the greatest will to live.

    Life’s tough sometimes yes but for him, you do not know what he has been through or how he’s mind works. So before you judge someone, think a little.

    it just astounds me how many “the world is better without him” and “just one less weak loser” comments are on here.

    i never knew so many ignorant people know how to use a pc.

    and then we wonder how on earth someone like bush can get elected twice – and all the other $hit that goes on in the world.

    got forbid any of you have to go through a friend or family going out like this… severe depression is a serious illness and it is exacerbated by mood swings brought on by pills such as those used by bodybuilders. it has nothing to do with the guy being weak… he is 19… life is not that bad??? who are you to judge what goes on through a person’s head? its like saying f$ck her… she died of breast cancer because she wasn’t strong enough to overcome it… one less genetically impure b1tch to deal with.

    You sad weak little people.

    God forbid you show some emotion… coz you’re so strong and manly over the internet. Come to discuss this issue in person and you’ll be smaller than a little pus$y. I feel sorry for you and the way you live your life…

    my first post…
    i have bipolar. and the lack of understanding most of you have is amazing first of ill describe bipolar is not just ups and downs as most people feel them shure if you had a few loved ones die in close together you may know what mild depresion is. bipolr depresion is way beond that you go so low that you cant evan cry. your mind slows down you sleap 16 – 20 hrs a day. most people see them selves as better or worse than they are based on there mood bipolars have that to the extream. where most people would feel that they ugly for example when there down bipolar when there down take that way further they can become convincet that people are mocking them in the streats becase of how ugly they belive they are. on the ups the reverse is true. its like being on cocane for weeks at a time but evan better.
    at least that was my expeariance and its defrent for evry bipolar.
    based on the meds he od with painkillers and benzo’s he was not being treated for bp as benzos are used with extream cation the make make both highs and lows more extreame but can be usefull for anxity and mixed states.
    also if he was relly priscribed bp meds he would have used them as most moodstablisers are more lethal than benzos and painkillers with some exception

    This is terrible, though it is interesting. i really just was thinking the other day, if someone had killed themselves .and filmed themselves doing it. and it ended up on the internet.
