e340.jpgGroup iKA today give us a release of the British movie Flawless with a big name actor over there Michael Caine. It looks a good movie with a release due for America in March. Quality wise is awesome with the video looking really good. Enjoy as this movie looks awesome.

A crime/drama set in 1960 London, where a soon to retire janitor (Caine) convinces a glass-ceiling constrained American executive (Moore) to help him steal a handful of diamonds from their employer, the London Diamond Corporation.

    it makes me so angry that ika, coming from a spanish source doesn’t post subtitles for the movie.The source dvd obviously includes the subtitles, but lately ika is posting all these movies subtitle free. i mean most people who check these movies don’t speak english and are certainly not able to follow through the whole movie without any captions, this movie sounds nice but since there are no subtitles i guess i can’t check it out.Thanks for the speedy update though.

    yeah i know there will be, but quality will be a lot worse than the ripped ones.i can write in english and everything but i can’t even watch movies in my lenguage without subitles!is there any rule in the scene about dvd rips having to have subtitles?

    some other movies that are hard to follow, i wait for greek subs
    i think that this movie doesn’t need any subs, or english subs just for help

    its english.. i think there are rules about non-english movies that need to have eng subs included otherwise language stated in the release name.

    @28, I think Bobo was referring to the other 96% of Americans who aren’t functionally deaf or hard of hearing, at least 30% of which need subtitles to understand the likes of Ewan McGregor, Vinnie Jones, or pretty much anything common/working-class English. Living in the U.S. for over 5 years makes that assertion unequivical. I get as much enjoyment watching Americans trying to understand Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, or Trainspotting, as I do watching the films themselves (corkers though they are).

    ps. no, I’m not xenophobic – I love many (most?) Americans, or I wouldn’t be living here! :D

    pps. 7.1 on IMDB sounds a little low for a Michael Caine film (god that he is). Anyone seen it and recommend? I’ll probably download anyway, once a yastorage/adrive comes our way. :D

    @8: Yes, I second that. Why not OCR-rip the subs off the source DVDs? I do also often have trouble understanding what is being said in english-language movies – especially since I am not native to the english language. English movies should come with at least english subtitles.

    But since the scene rips for fame and not for us p2p consumers, the sceners don’t have much reason to supply us with subtitles.

    @23 Kappa_X: The subs at subscene are for a different movie that goes by the same name:
    ‘English Flawless.1999.DVDRip.XviD-UnSeeN’
    The 1999 movie is a comedy with Robert DeNiro.

    No subs yet for the 2007 Flawless with Michael Caine.

    @53 Your right, never thought of it that way. I have a friend actually who uses subtitles. He has a huge tv that looks great but…. it sounds like it has speakers in it from the dashboard of a 1969 Volkswagen. It’s a strange thing. Not to mention his girlfriend yapping lol.

    Rule: include subs for those daft enough to find and or use them.

    sometimes less is more guys, i like to keep my eyes on the screen and the main view of the film observing apart from the the main action some side things like their costumes, the place the action is taking place, nature the surounding, light, and small things inside houses or places like furniture or anything else, i myself find very intersting.Its not just the dialogues and i find myself missing many intersting things about a movie just by spending those milisecs to read the subs.
    A crime/drama set in 1960 London as said and i will find intersting to see a 1960 london atmoshpere.

    You’re not wrong, subitles can be somewhat distracting.

    Therefore I set the subtitle color to gray (instead of white) AND give them some degree of transparency.

    In MPC (guliverkli Media Player Classic) you can toggle subtitles on/off with the ‘w’-key (at least in my setup – in MPC you can assign any key to almost any function as a shortcut) and toggle different subtitle streams with the ’s’-key.

    It is very similar for VLC (Video Lan Client). Here it is the ‘u’-key (only in my setup? – but it’s adjustable) for switching between different subtitles ON or no subtitles at all (in VLC subtitles OFF is treated just like another subtitle stream).

    Excuse me but where the fcuk is the subtitle from the original DVD ? Why didn’t he rip it out ? What DVDrip is for ? Otherwise, a DVDscr would be enough, you didn’t need to release a DVD without subtitle because few months ago, someone had really released a DVDscr without subtitle, too and the quality was pretty much the same. All people who have no English watched it in the DVDscr. The only reason why we need DVDrip because we expect a subtitle or unfortunately, the DVDscr quality was unwatchable or with a big logo (but infact, most DVDscr are nice)

    You could spend hours ripping a DVD, why not take an extra second to rip the sub for us ???? You guys may have problem with aXXo like jelousy or something but that guy was too professional and understanding, you can never find a release of him which is without sub. That’s why he was famous and had big fans.

    Why do you people complain about english subtitles? its not really a big thing…if they are not provided they will be uploaded soon enough on subscene or divxstation…you all sound like spoiled brats here…your getting a movie for free and still you cannot appreciate it & complain of lacking subtitles. If you want or need subs so bad buy the dvd!

    Anyhow appreciate this release, will watch this one without the english subtitles!

    Can’t agree more about subtitles issue!!!
    Recently I have almost 30 movies waiting for english subtitles. most of them are independent movies, and a word could be spread better if more people could watch it with subs. indie movies are all about dialogues, and they’re smart written, but they’re alse harder to follow without subs. i’ll post a list, some of them are axxo rips, many of them scene, and maybe somebody will help out there.

    No luck here, searched everywhere.

    People gotta realise some things:

    1- Not all movies on DVD have subtitles- having someone transcribe the subtitles costs money and must be part of the budget.
    2- Most people who (like me) use subtitles a lot, bet it because we are deaf or don’t understand spoken English, are already aware of the bigger subtitles sites like Podnapsi, OpenSubtitles, and Divxstation. Yes we can google too. What we are are the subtitles, not the websites.

    I wouldn’t presume its solely americans who need the subs.
    Alot of people worldwide whos 2nd Language is English would love to read the script to better understand it.
    & considering there are many immigrants in the USA.
    Not to mention the hard of hearing.

    English is my first language(american) and i can understand british/UK/Scots lines pretty well.

    I’m sure we all watched movies in our native languages and accents, and still found a line or two mumbles or spoken too fast where subs would be nice a nice asset.

    No need for the slandering commentary.
