You could try reading the minimum requirements, and the answer is no. However, this game is an “enhanced remake” of Flatout 2 which you might have more luck with.

I think Activision is coming out with “Sunday driver” soon, it will allow you to cruise the country in your choice of a woodpanelled station wagon, a Dodge MiniVan, a Ford Taurus or a Pinto. of course each with its own driver with your choice of white hair or a hat.
Objective is to stay 10MPH below the speed limit, avoid pot holes and other road debris. Enjoy the sunshine and call in speeders to the police.

Uh, no. 2GB of RAM is not at all commonplace as the MINIMUM requirement. Even games like Crysis and Gears of War only require 1GB minimum.

It seems like they just took FlatOut 2 and updated the graphics engine somewhat. All the tracks are identical – though with somewhat better graphics.

Grid is an awesome racing game much like Dirt. The grid download posted on rlslog can be played online as well so it outclasses flatout by a mile.
Flatout is an alright bish bashing arcade racer but you will get into Grid a lot more and online play really extends the lifespan.
I have this for xbox360 and it sucks….

no comparison this game is graphically weak unless its changed much from the xbox360 version, the textures were really bad compared to GRID, the cars look much better in grid along with the enviornment running the same settings as grid.
besides this and grid aren’t the same type of game really…

As people have said, this is probably too similar to FlatOut 2 really, though the graphics are an improvement. Signs of an annoying console port (what, 9 months after it came out on consoles first and they still label things as “A” and “B” rather than “Enter” and “Escape”, hmmmm), plus am I the only one in the universe to have the Windows key on my keyboard dump me back to the Windows desktop right in mid-game (yes, Ctrl button for Nitro is right next to it!)? Surely they should have disabled the Windows key when the game is running?
i just felt like saying that i love this game and ive never played the flatout series. i just took a break from playing it for 3 hours. i think its beautiful running at 1920×1080 with no texture filtering. im about to turn that on now and see if it makes any difference. e6750 at 3.6ghz 4gb ram, 8800gt, win2k8 enterprise, 61inch leddlp

i hope this plays over hamachi and that the game includes ai racers in multiplayer. its sucks to race 1v1 with no bots. very uneventful. other than that, sweet!
NEWTORRENTS.INFO BACK ONLINE IN A COUPLE HRS!
Grid looks better but I can’t say it’s a better game. Grid seems more polished and professional but I have always thought Flatout series has some of the best arcade-ish driving action around. Haven’t played this version although I’m bummed to hear it’s just the same old tracks. Grid is OK, it’s currently in my playing rotation, but it just seems too sterile or something. I haven’t dug my steering wheel and pedals out from under my bed yet, so I’ve been playing with a standard PS2 type gamepad.
Flatout on the PSP is the only thing I play on that anymore.
The first flatout was funny and pretty cool but now the first and second and now the 3rd are probably boring and actually trying to win is probably very hard.

God awful port.
Ridiculously steep requirements given the relatively poor graphics and the game, even though is meant to be a revamped version of Flatout 2, is nothing alike if you’ve played it.
They’ve made the game far easier by changing the physics and handling of the cars, it’s not a challenge and thus fun at all any more.
Do yourselves a favour and download Flatout 2 instead of this junk as at least you can play online, save and it runs a 100 times better.

Crackfix? The game has rebooted my machine tvice, and now it cuts out after the game has run for 2-3 min.

Thanks ! Nice game, but i’ve got more fun playing Flatout 2. Ultimate Carnage looks like the biggest patch for a game (4Go for an update, too bad they didn’t worked on new tracks).
The Next Gen style, i guess : slower, less fun (even if it’s not really a bad game).
Nowadays, game studios must think that every player is having a 8800 GT. In fact, it’s a good idea to update your graphic card, but the fact is that with ultimate carnage, you’ll play with the same game than Flatout 2.

I played dis game !!!! for 1 hour !! really it’s too SUXX.. yu won’t feel anything like Car driving !!! graphics is nice but … sum bugss … such as if yu have dual screen … then game randomly crashes ….

Thank you so much for this awesome game!the one i downloaded was posted here by “skullptura” and was 1.69 gig in size.My thanks to that uploader who used a compressed file that was indeed the complete game,as it unzipped to 3.75gig and played perfectly.Ive got an 8800gt and 3gig core 2 with 2 gigs rams just mentioned becuz graphics all set to their highest in game yield freaking fantastic looking cars and scenes!FPS is abt 60 in gameplay at 1680×1050.As to comparisons to Grid, well its a totally different game entirely,serious racing with also insane graphics and realism as long as ur card allows ultra high in game settings.the flatout game to me is designed for FUN with amazing graphics as well gut a completely different feel and intention to it.I love them both!The rendering of the fire hoops and the water scenes is really wild to see.I never had flatout 2,only the old original one, so this game is all new to me.If you want to see what ur graphics card can do to create beautiful images,i recommend this game.. thanks!

Rather disappointed in this. Hard to go back to it after Grid on a top end PC. BTW there is a 1.7GB RIP version by Skullptura which works fine.
IMO it’s nothing more but Flatout 2 with higher system requirements…

Sorry Zed, no online with Flatout becuase of the new “Windows Live” which is basicaly like Xbox live for your pc.The online gameing is still free with “Windows Live” but the only way we can play this game online is if its legaly purchased, hence the dire need for a CD Key.
If you like the game so much and want to play online so bad just buy it.I found this game for $20 at the local Walmart for the 360 version.If you have a 360, its worth getting this game since its so cheap.Problem with 360 is you must buy Live Gold to play it online sadly.
I will still continue to play this offline becuase its a really good and fun game.I would definatly consider buying this game though whence it becomes much cheaper.
