If you watched the show you will see that after the killing of the hostage by the sniper, he was immediately thrown into what looks to be an intensive internal investigation to ensure everything was done properly. It also hints at the internal turmoil the sniper is going through after killing the gunman. Looks like he has his own doubts about it.
This shows goal seems to be around the ‘reality’ of these special forces units – that they are real people like you and me that have to do this job. They’re not just robots carrying out some overarching conspiracy that you talk about.

Well with all the new series coming out I sometimes wonder if the big execs of the tv companies are on drugs or so with all the crap coming on the market. Like this series, not worth watching. Waste of download time and effort.

Its based on the Toronto ETF or Emergancy Task Force. And the opening show is actually based on events that occurred… last year or two years ago when a man took a women hostage in front of Union Station in the heart of downtown Toronto. The show is filmed in Toronto as well.

I liked the show, but When I heard about the candadian influence I wonder , where is the show supposedly taken place. I know canada has its share of violence but the gun stats compared to America are crazy, great if you live in canada. Per Million pop there are 35 murders in usa to 1 in canada.

The show is actually based around the actions of ETF, the Emergency Task Force. Its Canadas version of a little more than swat. THey are usually called in as a clean up crew or to handle situations to severe or media sensitive for the o.p.p. (ontario provincial police) etc. The first episode (this one) is based on the Union station sniper that happened in toronto a couple years ago.
