Firefox updated to 2.0.0.11, security bug fixed
Firefox version 2.0.0.11 was released by Mozilla on Friday, the third in the month of November. It fixes a stability problem in the previous version and all Firefox users are “strongly recommended” to upgrade to this latest release. This latest update of the open-source Web browser comes hot on the heels of version 2.0.0.8 released on October 18, version 2.0.0.9 on November 1, and version 2.0.0.10 on November 26. So if you’re a Firefox user, you are certainly not alone in getting lots of software update messages from your Web browser recently.

According to Cnet, Version 2.0.0.10 broke a feature that lets images be displayed with special effects such as rotated pictures and image reflections, according to Mozilla’s bug-tracking site. The problem was fixed within a day and distributed within five, but not before some whose sites were affected by the bug had voiced frustration. In the meantime, you might be interested to know that the next version of the browser – Firefox 3, should reach second beta in the latter part of December if all goes well. I really hope they will solve this memory eating issue, it drives me mad sometimes.

teh furries theyre everywhere
This update messed all my addon’s!!!
There’s a massive improvement under Firefox’s hood, you might wanna check out squarefree.com and specially the “The burning edge” section! (I’m not affiliated with that site, it’s just a pretty good resource if you’re into it like I am)
Uh….. so firefox uses furries as their mascot…. I’m all set. IE 7 is win. Shut the fck up if you disagree, because I don’t care.
Firefox FTW !
yeah ie7 rocks if u like ur browser to have more holes than swiss cheese and the image rendering for ie7 is worse than ie6…and how is ie7 better than ie6 let alone firefox
@4 .. not smart not updating considering all the updates contain fixes for known exploits and security holes .. their is no regression in performance since 2.0 to 2.0.0.11 , if anything it runs better ..
I’d bang her furry ass. If that makes me sick.. then I am hannibal lecter
my swiss cheese doesn’t have holes, my butt has more open holes than ie7, which ie7 also smells like my big bootey! Anyway, firefox rocks harder than a rock….. uh.. yeah… becuase i said so. And the hairy girl has a name… and someone find out so i can know. Peace! Let the humanity live, and let’s get rid of os x, os x is taking our women and burning our trees. Global warming is caused by Apple.
mmm i really want them to solve the memory issue as well. It sure does use a lot of memory.
IE7 + IEPro here ftw. That chick pic is just wrong…
ouch.. im in love
Love the pic. Love Firefox. Can’t live without it.
Upgraded mine,
2.0.0.10 no rotating/on fire logos (animated gifs)?
What was the problem again.
Firefox has become the resource hog that was the original reason to ditch IE6, nowadays it’s no better than IE7, and you can bet v3 will be even worse with more bloated features
i use K-Meleon now which is significantly faster, and uses minimal resources – much happier
ehhh they are all the same….. f’it knaw wha im sayinz! DaWgggg

Picture is the most interesting part of this post…
Does not Firefox auto-update for everyone else? Nothing against some Firefox love on the site… but just wondering why this was worth posting seeing as most people will get this automatically.
@20
If anything FF3.0 is going back to it’s roots as it uses less memory and resources… yet is faster in every aspect.
Sadly v2 is a piece of crap ram hogging, new window opening and full of holes :/
v3 is much more improved and hopefully all the extensions will be compatable later on.
Based on that logo, I’m glad to be living in Australia.
@25. What do you mean?
I have everything set so that it doesn’t do that, except the RAM- hogging thing but I have 2gig, so nothing to worry about there.
I like FF a whole lot more than anything M$ has put out, and it beats the crap outta Opera for me, too. So far I haven’t had any problems with it, and after I first read this post it auto-updated to 2.0.0.11 and I’m good so far.
The last update it did caused me to lose my themes, which made me a little mad, because the basic FF theme sucks hard.
Later.
From the editor of techspot.com:
Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.11 released (broken!): This one fixes some regressions from the other recent releases. If you are running anything earlier than 2.0.0.09 I suggest you don’t upgrade to any of the newer versions until an even newer revision is released. Several complaints from users about random crashes and high CPU utilization have risen in the past week. This editor is just another of such users feeling the pain in multiple OS versions, for sure the latest updates are to blame.
Personally, I really like Opera. However, it isnt worth the incompatibility of half the internet…Most web pages look like they are toasty…Plus, with so many websites changing to mostly flash based, it is good to have a compatible browser. That is where Firefox beats Opera.
