Chaps from British scene group RiVER just released a new episode of popular TV show Fifth Gear few moments after it aired on Channel 5. All car fans probably already know this show so there’s no need to further introduce it. Standard image quality in this PDTV rip.

Motoring magazine show. Jason Plato gets his hands on the much-anticipated Nissan GT-R. Vicki Butler-Henderson holds a shoot-out between two elegant minis. Tom Ford and Jonny Smith compare a classic motorhome with its modern equivalent. Tiff Needell tries out the Audi RS6 Avant estate car and Fifth Gear conducts a world-first crash test.

    @4, naturally, but they are smart and put it on opposite times of the year because the repeates on DAVE do get stale after a while

    I can’t explain why but I love this show even though I don’t really love cars that much. But then I love Cake Mania 2 and I’ve only tried baking once.

    The only problem with Top Gear is the insufferable Clarkson; his loutish lad-ish posturing drives (ha-ha) me nuts. Note how my UK English is coming along, chaps. Whereas the sweet-natured VBH, while not quite the quintessential English rose, is not totally, sorry, completely, bereft of barmaid-style charm. Ooooh, feel the G, boyz. Whatever…

    Not to mention that top gear in an increasing amount of autos is actually Sixth. Makes me think of “Carphone Warehouse”… ooops :-D

    Don’t mention Carphone Warehouse, friggen major problems with them since they changed all AOL UK users over to their network.

    Anyway, I prefer Top Gear it’s just funnier but VBH is waaaaaay better looking than Clarkson. Fifth Gear still does proper road tests whereas Top Gear just has more fun but actually tells you little that is relevant to the average man (or woman) on the street (unless you can actually afford a Ferrari, Lambo or Aston.

    VBH is really really wrinkly, old and ugly up close, have a proper look. Her voice is really annoying and she tries on this ‘cute ‘n’ funny’ look that doesn’t suit her at all.

    If you want relevant info for the ‘average man’ then that’s what the editorial magazine is for. Packed full of all the main details and road tests you want including options, prices etc etc etc

    Since it’s new edition of Top gear in 2002, it’s more geared towards entertainment and just enjoying an hour of pure laughs and fun with 3 fellas messing about = Good stuff!!!

    You’ll also notice that Fifth gear tend to have reviews of cars (well, supercars mostly) way way AFTER Top Gear have already done and dusted them…

    In my opinion, it’s just a spin off show that adds 10 mins of looking at small Vauxhalls and Peugeots just for the claim that it’s for the average person but it’s not exciting or immensely fun.

    Still, can never have too many motoring shows for the kid in us all!! :)

    Oh and, I’ve been on AOL ‘platinum unlimited’ package for a couple of years now. Started before the AOL take-over but havent had any major problems really. Only annoying thing is the limited speed between 8:30 PM and 10:30 PM sharp which goes down to about 120 kb/s downloads which is quite a pain sometimes, do you get the same? Aside from that, the entire day is perfect, fast 600kb/s+ speeds and no instability..

    Fifth Gear sucks, it can’t hold a candle to Top Gear. Clarkson Hammond and May are a team that just can’t be beat.

    Women shouldn’t present a petrolhead program.

    I cannot check out the comments/anything for “Ryu Ga Gotoku 2007 DVDRip XviD-HKM”. I get a page that is a 1×1 pixel transparent GIF. I tried in Firefox and in IE7. Anyone else know of a fix. Also check out my icons at mediaicons.org for XBMC.

    Thanks Joe for posting the TSCC links.

    I’m just wondering why RLSLOG wouldn’t cover the show tonight? There’s not a lot else on Mondays (US) and its a very solid show with a decent internet following (from what I’ve seen from TL and public trackers, even though I use RS).

    The XOR release I watched had minor OOS issues, but I still love them because their fast and I can easily fix OOS with VLC. But I understand issues with them if you’re trying to burn to DVD etc, but if you’re using a PC just use VLC and you can easily fix OOS issues.

    I’ll grab the PROPER – don’t the sound quality I get thru VLC compared to WMP. WMP uses more resources but the audio comes through much nicer with SRS Audio helping it along.

    I don’t care what the show is, its the first view of the GT-R, and thats all I wanted to see. And when Top Gear gets their hands on it, I want to see that too. When BMI puts it out and its all in Japanese, I still wanna see it, even if I don’t understand a word.

    Damn, that grunt on the RS6 V10 is something else. What a sound!
