I took the comment of “house negro” to mean that Morgan Freeman appears is in many movies playing the token black character. Similar to the term “house wine” in that its nothing special, just the usual, common, stadard wine served. It gets the job done without much compliment or complaint.
I personally would reserve the term “house negro” for Samuel Jackson, who arguably plays more of those common, everyday negro parts than Morgan Freeman does…but to each his own.

You sir, are a racist. Do you not remember Morgan Freemans excellent performance in Driving Miss Daisy as Hoke? Certainly not a token black role there. Or in Glory as John Rawlins? Again, not a token black soldier role. He was even in Amistad, and his role could have been played by a white actor just as easily as a black actor.
