FarStone Virtual Hard Drive Pro v2.0 Incl Keymaker-CORE
Again… Same company - FarStone, same cracking group - CORE.
Virtual Hard Drive Pro takes a portion of your system memory and creates a RAM disk drive, which functions like a physical hard drive, only with much better access rates.
A RAM disk drive bypasses the system hard drive, which is the slowest part of a computer. Freeing your data storage and retrieval from this mechanical disk creates an immediate boost for your system.
Files and applications run up to 340 time faster, making Virtual Hard Drive Pro the program of choice for reducing server load and improving the response time of calculation-intensive applications.
Move your browser cache folder to a RAM disk drive to improve the load times of web of pages and multimedia on the Internet. Junk files are automatically deleted when you end your RAM disk session!
Virtual Hard Drive Pro supports an unlimited amount of RAM, and works with 64 and 32-bit versions of Windows Vista, Server, and XP.
Highlights:
Blazing speed
Install files, applications, and databases on a virtual hard drive to run them up to 340 times faster in RAM — with no changes the way they’re used
Reduced wear and tear
A virtual hard drive never wears out. You can run it at maximum bandwidth without fear of mechanical failure or performance-slowing fragmentation
Quiet, cool operation
Unlike your system hard drive, a RAM drive contains no moving parts to generate noise and heat

Looks useful. But I never heard of a application like this one.
Getting now to take a look.
Thanks looks useful, I’ve always used Norton Ghost..
Will give this a try!!
My above comment was for Farstone Drive Clone pro !!
RAM drives have been around since DOS.
@Stinger
But Norton Ghost is another kind of app, isnt it?
Its for cloning disks and partitions..
@Stinger
yeah, i realized that
Finally, i forgot the name of an old app that did this. This is cool.
what so like i can have 30 gb of ram lmafo awesome
Does anyone know what this is for?
does this work good fr PC games. is it worth it?
This app creates a fake hardrive using some of your system ram. Any files on that “virtual” hard drive can be accessed faster than if they were only on the hard drive.
I am really not sure how this would help, as all data would be lost on that virtual hard drive when you power down. Even if it saves it off to your hard drive first, it would need to be loaded into ram again, so I really don’t see a purpose for this app.
I could be wrong, but unless I am missing something this app serves no purpose.
i dont get it. does this let you use memory from ur hardrive as ram? so u can have like 2 gigs of ram without actually haveing the ram sticks in ur hardrive?
@woody
no. this app is for peepz with a huge amount of extra ram, say 16GB-20GB or so. this app will allow you tuse that as ram as hard drive storage, but it is much faster than a hard drive.
very useful for high end graphic design, like special effects in moveis.
No woody, that’s virtual ram.
This is vie versa. Takes your memory and make it act like a HD. this is a ram disk. and not very usefull if you have RAPTOR or a bunch of memory sticks aka jump drives.
ok i get it now. thank you max &jerry
now i don’t really get the point of it lol
sounds kind of pointless if u have enough ram to use as a hard drive you would think everything would run super fast as is
sort of like robbing peter to pay paul…useless in the age of vista.
I assume it would be best put to use as a sort of “sandbox” where you could install/store data without writing it to the HDD, so the browser cache example is probably the best one as it wouldnt leave recoverable traces of data on the HDD.
..plus i suppose it would be much faster for video processing applications that are limited by how fast you can read and write from the HDD. I`ve found that loading data into RAM first greatly increases DVD ripping speed and video processing speed in Vegas and Premiere.
32bit windows accept only ~3GB. It is useless on 32bit systems.
tip for the gamer!
Google NTFSlink and use it to make hardlinks and junktions (NTFS features) to your ramdisk.
for example i have a game and want realy realy fast map loading, i copy the map folder from the game to the ramdisk, then put a 1 or whatever on the original map folder, then you make a hardlink from the ramdisk to where your original map folder is and rename the link to the original map folder name (thats why you put a 1 after the original). now when the game wants to load a map, it will load it from RAM! ;D depending on how good the ramdisk software is and your ram, speeds from 1gb/sec up to 8gb/sec data tranfer means your map loads in seconds instead of minutes!
with NTFSlink and other similar programs, you can put what you want on the ramdisk, parts of a game without putting the whole game in ram, for example you could put only cache files and maps in ram leaving rest on the HD. ofcourse same is true for programs
database in ram WTFPWNS loading databases from HD.. specially for web applications
i wonder if this app makes backups to the hdd from time to time. i wouldnt want to lose all data.
App could be useful for:
- Quick save of games or other apps that save large amount of data often.
- fastest way of copying removable drives without connecting both (cardreader)
- Fast for temporary uncompressing & viewing
Torrnt available @ Demonoid at the mo, if anyone interested.

I did think about it but seeing some of the comments thought it wouldn’t be worth it thanks.
This is perfect for recording games in Fraps.
I am amazed so few people realise the value of this app. The way you use it is to load into the Ram drive (or ‘virtual’ drive) just those folders that certain apps like say ‘Second Life’ or just your Web Browser rely on to work. So all the graphics, textures, all the support files normally referenced by constant calls to the hard drive, are instead available instantly in RAM. The game/whatever runs blazing fast. Yes you lose it when you switch off, but as it only takes a moment to re-instate it and then your stuff runs insanely fast for the duration, it’s a no brainer, of course you just reload the virtual disk next time you want blinding speed. The only ‘cost’ is that RAM is expensive, while hard drives are cheap.
@lightster
I agree with you this is a very valuable tool indeed if it works the way you say, once i get an extra gig of ram for my laptop i am gonna run tF2 with this for super speedy load times…
@23, right FMT! this is one of its best applications for us “not corporate” users.
