Hmmm - never got my question out!

Does this thing actually work? I've tried all of the usual s/w (ghost, acronis etc) and they all make a lovely image of my IDE drive but all fail to write that info to my SATA drive (it freezes randomly). Yet I have both drives working happily alongside each other??

Call me a n00b and flame the sh!t outta me... but how the fcuk can many smaller zips increase torrent download times?

I thought the whole idea of torrent was that the data (collectively) was broken into small packets anyway... regardless of the 'make-up' of the data?

My personal experience is that I get considerably better dl times from complete files rather than zips.

My rather limited understanding of the reasons behind the zips was that it didn't tie up networks when transferring the files from one place to another via ftp in the scene groups effort to cover their tracks?

Bring it on!!

Personally prefer powerquest drive image 2002 on a Bart PE disc.
Like the ability to create an image of the faulty c drive in PE just before I restore the working image. Many a time i have had to go back in the faulty image to find/restore very recent pictures and files.

I've tried norton ghost etc without success but used Driveimage xml (freeware) http://www.runtime.org/dixml.htm

And restored to new disc on a laptop with David's Ultimate Boot CD 2.0 (4in1)

Drive Clone is better than Acronis (Acronis still has issues with SATA2 drives and still requires another recovery disc other than the one it creates within the software to work right). All those posting Acronis am sure haven't tried this. This is a great release. Much thanks!

whrandom, there's no point in backuping movies in image files. just burn them straight up on a dvd. anyway, they won't compress at all (all mpg derivatives are already compressed.

10gb = "lots"
heh. that's barely 2 days work on a private tracker...

Guys, I need a clone tool that can generate a partition image and that can write it back to the partition without any OS installed, like a live CD.
I want this to generate a image of my XP partition with all drivers and apps installed on it, so I could recover it without have to install all things one by one.
What tool better suits my needs?

It's a disk imaging solution too. I think that's very much on topic. Choice is a good thing. As for TrueImage, stay away from v11. It doesn't work with popular stuff like Intel Storage Matrix (ICH9R RAID) and such (it will backup but not see it when you come to restore), but the older versions 9.1/10 work perfectly fine. They haven't added anything useful to v11 anyway.
