F-SECURE INTERNET SECURITY V2009-MAGNiTUDE

The ISO section of group MAGNiTUDE released a brand spanking new version of pretty neat application: F-SECURE INTERNET SECURITY. This is a complete pack of tools to protect you online. Although I prefer using an antivirus and firewall separately, F-Secure’s solution has something to offer for everyone. If it wasn’t consuming so much system resources as almost every all-in-one application, this would be a perfect piece of software.

F-Secure Internet Security 2009 provides a complete and easy-to-use protection against all Internet threats, whether they are known or previously unidentified. It includes an award-winning antivirus, an easy-to-use personal firewall, an improved antispyware and a new technology, F-Secure DeepGuard, that constantly monitors the very heart of your computer, ensuring that no malicious programs can take over your computer even if you do not have all the latest updates. In addition, the product filters unwanted spam and so-called phishing attempts from your e-mail, and with the parental control, you can block access to websites with questionable content.

Product features:

· Protects your computer against viruses, worms and unknown attacks
With daily automatically updated virus protection from the world-renowned Data Security Laboratory of F-Secure and the new F-Secure DeepGuard TM technology that protects you against zero-day attacks and other future threats, you can safely use your computer, now and tomorrow.

· Detects and removes spyware from your computer
F-Secure Internet Security detects and removes secretly installed software from your computer better than ever before, ensuring that your system is running smoothly and clean of spyware.

· Protects your computer against hackers
You can keep your private data to yourself with the personal firewall that stops hackers from breaking into your computer.

· Helps you stay free from spam e-mail and phishing attempts
F-Secure Internet Security filters unwanted spam and e-mail schemes designed to steal your private information.

· Protects your children against unwanted Internet content
F-Secure Internet Security ensures that your children or teenagers do not enter objectionable sites or surf the Internet when you are not around.

    from nfo.
It is recommended that you turn off auto updates

To be able to update you need to download and install
    http://download.f-secure.com/latest/fsdbupdate.exe but
this trick might not work forever.
not really a good idea to use an antivirus without automatic update, I think I’ll keep using bitdefender.

@ 87 , F- secure is not garbage, read the independent comparatives of top Anti-Virus software here – http://www.av-comparatives.org/seiten/ergebnisse_2008_02.php also many big companies like Barclays bank and sify use it for security.its in the top 3 along with kaspersky and nod32 .

15 are you looking at the same avcomparatives as the rest of us? they scored a 6% on the may retrospective test…only people who got an advanced+ was avira and eset. Not even KAV is worth much anymore. Stick with Eset. Avira can’t scan network drives and that sucks.

@ none ,thats why av comparative have said to read the whole report mentioned below the table, its scored 6% because it was not updated ,thats why they have mentioned- ” To determine how good a scanner is in detecting zoo-samples on-demand in general with updated signatures, have a look on our February and August tests “. also -” Please rely on the reached certification levels and NOT on the percentages.” f secure has always secured an advanced+ certification for years.also there is latest On-demand comparative report coming out today-15th September, ~10AM PST. so lets wait and check what that also says .

Considering the number of posters here who would have us believe that they know everything about PC’s I don’t know why they are even bothering arguing the merits of one virus app over another. I use a hardware rest card in my PC and it simply blows away any virus or nasty that gets in everytime I reset. With one of these in your PC malware, spyware etc becomes a thing of the past. Keep arguing guys whilst I don’t even have to think about it.

This AV is not good, at all. I won’t recommend it.
I use it at work and it sucks -.-

A month ago it detected a Windows XP SP2 crucial .dll as infected and all PCs in the company went mad!

ESET NOD32 from year 2006 still AV Product of the Year, so go d/l ESET and leave the rest aside.

30 there are plenty of fixes that just make the trial run for 65000 days like nodfix used to.

    Watch out!

My McAfee detected TROJAN after I’ve burned CD with F-secutiry. The file “keygen” contains trojan called generic.dx.
