My TV PACK tonight is a HBO comedy show called “Extras”. Co-produced by the BBC and HBO, “Extras” is a British sitcom about extras working on film sets and in theatre. The DVDRip of the first season was released by m00tv in widescreen quality, hope you like it.

Meet Andy Millman, Actor. Never forgets his lines because he never gets any. Andy (Ricky Gervais) is a desperate man. He’s been an actor for five years but thanks to his useless agent (Stephen Merchant), he?s never done any real acting. Instead, he?s a lowly film extra, making his mark in the background while the stars do their work. His partner in arms is the pitiable Maggie, a fellow extra and a hopeless romantic. Andy may be an extra, but he?s a star in his own right. Too bad nobody else agrees.

    The is the same series which was on the BBC about 3 or 4 years ago. HBO part-financed the series along with the BBC just like The Tudors and a few other hi-quality series. The BBc works with HBO when they want to appeal more to a global audience.

    Altho HBO is american, quite a lot of their programming is actually quite intelligent and well produced. To the point where it’s actually watchable for us Brits too. eg The Wire & The Sopranos.

    Oh my! One of the funniest shows ever! The Sir Ian Mckellen (?) episode is just to much. And the one with the wheelchair guy from X-Men. Ahhh. Every time I think of that episode I get a strong urge to jump off the balcony.

    This is one of the best comedy series of this century.
    Well worth the bandwidth, full of celebrities playing themselves and Ricky is just amazing.
