     Go ahead and persecute me, I’m a believer. Obviously, I’m not perfect, as I download movies illegally, but you don’t HAVE to be perfect to be a believer, or to be saved. Why is there so much hatred displayed here.

     gee, amazing how many people there are that seem to not be able to understand that God is the One that designed all natural things on earth. but then again, i’m not surprised at all by this, because God’s Word does say that His Word is foolishness to the world. it’s a shame that there are so many on this message board that hate God so vehemently, when all He has ever wanted anyone here to know is how much He loves you all. your hatred of God isn’t going to make Him not love you either, so all of this God-bashing isn’t doing you any good. you’re never going to be more right than God, so you might as well stop trying to be, and you’re never going to make God’s Word not be true in every situation. i personally want to see this movie for no other reason than to see a bunch of atheistic people fall flat on their faces in light of the truths that ben stein stands for, which are all found in the Word of God. if that makes me a terrible person, then so be it, but at least i’m not the one trying to beat up on God.

     This is incorrect. A hypothesis is merely the first step towards becoming a theory (the ultimate goal of science). Evolution is a full-fledged scientific theory based on actual observations:

     Also, evolution is not just “random alterations”. You seem to have forgotten about natural selection. Or were you ignorant of it?

     So just triumphantly a theory — so what? My point still stands scientifically.

     No, you are getting it wrong again. The whole REASON science exists is that we don’t know stuff. Science is about figuring it out!

     If we knew everything, science would not exist.

     To be a good scientist, you must be able to admit that we don’t know, and be curious enough to try to figure it out instead of resorting to “God did it”.

     Yet there are still flawed people who are bad scientists.

     You are getting it wrong AGAIN!

     When a scientist doesn’t have enough information he DOES admit that! And he keeps looking for information. THIS IS HOW SCIENCE WORKS!

     Then why does science sometimes tend to not follow their own rules of positivism? Because sometimes scientists become desperate.

     graphicartist2k5, what are you talking about, “you’re never going to be more right than God, so you might as well stop trying to be, and you’re never going to make God’s Word not be true in every situation”? I’m not sure but it sounds like you think Jesus is god? is that what you think? If so you need to start thinking for yourself and think critically! You really believe that with all the religions and all of the gods that anyone is right? I know a few Christians that think they are right and I think they are ignorant!
     And for the Darwinists/atheists on here, the question still stands as was asked by Ben Stein, “What created the big bang”? I guess you would say the big bang evolved too right,JK. I agree things evolved, the universe is old, there was a big bang, but I question what created that big bang and what created the thing that created the big bang?
     And could the fact that brown bears and polar bears are mating now be an example of evolution/survival of the fittest as I like to call it?

     I teach science in the UK and it is terrifying how little a lot of you posters know and understand about science and the massive amount of evidence we have for evolution (by natural selection) whether it’s the hundreds of thousands of fossil remains or multitude of genetic studies that have linked all living things on this planet.

     Evolution itself is an observable fact – artificial selection, microbial mutation causing resistance to antibiotics, the ongoing development of ‘ring’ species such as the herring/lesser black-backed gull complex.

     Please use all the available information/evidence to come to a conclusion. I read the bible when I was young and, because of peer pressure, believed for a short while. Then I grew up and realised that there was no evidence to support anything the bible says. I also found out that Santa was a myth too.

     Time to grow up people.
