Expelled No Intelligence Allowed DVDRip XviD-NeDiVx

“Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed” is a controversial 2008 independent documentary film promoting intelligent design. The movie contends that mainstream science suppress criticism of both the evidence for evolution and the modern evolutionary synthesis, which is the theory explaining this evidence. (Honestly, a little complicated for me. :) ) The credit for this release goes to NeDiVx, enjoy this documentary!

PLOT: Ben Stein, posing as a concerned and gullible ultra-conservative, stars in this satirical documentary exposing the cluelessness and desperation the Intelligent Design Creationism movement.

Only in America is such blatant stupidity championed as being “rebellious” or “free thinking”.

It’s reached a point where simple minds can no longer process the basic realities of our existence. And that existence clashes so hard with their archaic flat-earth biblical end times outlook that they resort to absurd theories and notions of being outcasts and outsiders. Only in America will we embrace such stupidity so wholeheartedly. Yes, folks, the people who have been burning ‘outsiders’ at the stake for centuries upon centuries have now brought their stone-age lifestyles and belief systems to the 21st century in attempts to claim they are the ones being burned at the stake.

Read the Fun Stuff -Trivia on IMDB before you wade throught this garbage heap. Unless you want to watch it for the humourous angle on reality. If you think the Earth is just 6,000 years old, then this crap is for you. If you have a brain that has evolved to give you any intelligence, then stay away.

Here is from IMDB (Fun Stuff):
The film sets up the lecture scene as if it were an actual university lecture. While filmed at Pepperdine University, the auditorium had been rented by the producers and the lecture was not an officially sanctioned event. Pepperdine officials confirmed that the audience was made up of paid extras with only “two or three” actual students attending. Pepperdine administration claims that their student body, while overwhelmingly Christian (Pepperdine is a private Christian college), accepts evolution and does not accept the concept of Intelligent Design. Ironically, Michael Shermer, one of the “Big Science” interviewees in the movie, is a Pepperdine graduate.

Sorry, the idiot eurotrash may have their faults, but they don’t believe in Voodoo. In fact, even Pope himself acknowledges that Evolution is completely consistent with the bible and with religious teachings.

“The fanatical atheist is the mirror image of the religious zealot.”

And the American religious fundamentalist is the mirror image of the Muslim religious fundamentalist. Both are opposed to science and the scientific method. Both believe that religious dogma trumps empirical evidence. And both want to take away our freedoms.

At least the Muslims have got the fact that many of them live in Totalitarian Societies as an excuse for their militant ignorance. In America, Militant Ignorance is seen as a quality rather than a personality flaw.

From what I understand Ben Stein is an open opponent of the teaching of evolution and has been for a while. So the absurdity of ID (both in general and how it’s presented/defended in this documentary) is most likely NOT intended to be satirical. It’s scary that Americans (even college educated ones, such as my roommates) openly denounce evolution :(

About 20% of British, Scandinavian and German youth are taught creationism via Islamic religious classes in public schools or religious charter schools paid for by tax dollars. That’s a higher percent than America where creationism is mostly for the hicks, not our cities.

For all you haters, prove that evolution exists. Show me one species that has evolved into another..name me one time that an ape has had a human baby, or human that has an ape child. Even Darwin stated that he could not prove that evolution existed, that it was a theory as it could not be proved.

Now..who know evolution better then the guy who invented it?

And as for him not making sense…he makes more sense then any of the followers of the religion of evolution that posted here. Now while I will admit that I cannot prove a God exists, neither can any of you ethically challenged evolutionists prove that your therory is factual either. It was tried before and a mental midget got mad becuase using his own statement, it said that evolution could not be proven with todays science. And just remember, dogs changing is not evolution nor is domesticating cows, that is called selective breeding. Only a fool or a complete and total moron would confuse the two.

@43 common sense, you as a complete moron asking for proof that evolution exists, have proven yourself by being just intelligent enough to type. Try every piece of science which hasn’t been generated at Jerry Falwell’s clown college or The Creation Institute(LMFAO). Try an original thought once instead of regurgitating this crap written at these places for you, the republican’t base.

Instead of us proving to you that evolution exists(LMFAO @ you, you inbred flat earther)let’s first establish your competence, tell us how you feel about global warming and gravity.

If you had a brain big enough to to conjugate the verbs in your post, you’d know that Ben Stein doesn’t believe this crap either and that he has successfully targeted this crap at you, the stupid Jesustard demographic.

    October 13th, 2008 | 21:09

    @common sense
There is no prove for Evolution… That’s why it’s called a ‘theory’.. There is no scientist that presents this as a fact! An no, it’s not possible to show you a ape baby born out of a human, because the theory is that evolution does not happen overnight. What scientists DO is try to find evidence for this theory. Religious people telle me I shoould believe their side of the story because they say so!
It’s basic stuff: Show me solid proof regarding a theory or religion..-ANY theory or religion- and I’ll make the decision for myself..

I can say without fear of equivocation that I would rather beass focked by a donkey than watch this movie.
I have no idea whether stein is on the level or not but I do know that having silly debates over an issue that was resolved the century before last is not my idea of a stimulating movie.

The fact that 21st century americans can even consider that evolution ‘didn’t happen’ tells us just how badly their education system has failed their citizens.
This demonstrates exactly how few americans have a basic grasp of scientific principle and also demonstrates why it is that US has to use russian rockets to get into space nowadays.

The american manned space program has become non-existent, in fact a substantial number of americans appear to believe that space research is a guvmint conspiracy, that the moon landings were filmed on a hollywood back lot!

No wonder they have to import scientists from other countries to do their drugs and weapons research. These are about the only two areas where science research appears to be tolerated. Drug research so that rich amerikans can continue to extort money from poor sick people, weapons research so that those same capitalists can continue to steal the world’s resources.
Is it really gonna be safe to use russian cosmonauts to fix america’s spy satellites?

xtians are correct about one thing. The end is nigh, the end of american hegemony that is. It will end because too many americans have come to believe the ‘noble’ lies as that scum Leo Strauss (Unversity of Chicago father of neo-con philosophy) described the need for amerika’s elites to deceive the bulk of america’s citizens.

Okay, JerryMander and the rest of the evolution fools, instead of attacking someone who asks you to offer some sort of “proof” that the evolutionary theory is correct, why not attempt to do so? You get a case of diarrhea of the mouth and say that evolution is a theory and cannot be proven. Most would say the same thing about religion. How are they different? You believe in your theory, I’ll believe in mine. The only proof scientists offer for evolution is empirical. Well, this is the same proof I can offer for religion. It’s all based on experience. Acting like an a$$hole and attacking someone who believes differently than you do is a cheap shot which limits your own credibility.

I have not had a chance to watch this yet but I have to say I am not a ben stein fan but the topic is interesting. I just wanna say yes, when you say creationism and you refer to jesus freaks and any other religion that thinks they have it right, you wreck the whole idea because people argue over the bible or any other religious text and say they are right and everyone else is wrong. The problem is that they are all wrong! Jesus is not god and the world was not created in 7 days! You could say we all evolved from micro organisms, but the real truth of the matter is that something created those micro organisms that were in tern created by the big bang. And by the way, since matter can not be created nor destroyed, then how did the matter that created the big bang come into existance? I would say creationism or a higher power or as most would say god or intelligent desing had a part in the big bang. And by the way, when I said god I was not refering to jesus you Cookey jesus freaks.

Ben Stein ok look at his name please just research or something before you guys make yourselves look stupid because you are speaking about something you obviously don’t understand.. Ben Stein.. Goldstein.. Bloomburg.. Applestein, Rosenburg.. he is Jewish.. why are you bringing up Jesus when the guy obviously doesn’t believe in Jesus.. and Intelligent Design has just as much scientific evidence to back it up as evolution. Both evolution and the big bang theory are theories which means they have yet to be proven. Darwin himself said that his theories came straight out of a science fiction dream he had and they are finding major flaws in all of his research.

  51. Learry
    October 13th, 2008 | 22:55

    @50,Copeyboy:

First of all ,you must be aware of the complexity of organisms and the enormous amount of time that our planet went through.. All visible changes happen over long periods of time and things like evolution are not easily comprehensible…

We have enormous amount of concrete evidence for evolution, but you cannot prove it in a few sentences.. There are thousands of clues and proofs for evolution, but you have to educate yourself. The more you read, the more sens it makes and it all adds up..
And if you want to fully understand evolution, you must invest months of time to reading about it, and not only Darwin`s Origins of speies, but about biology itself….

On the other hand, most of what religion teaches has been proven to be false (to say the least) and if you want to persuade yourself that religion and science are “equal”, you can, but remember this, 20 or 30 years from now, you will be so ashamed of yourself that you will liturally cry… Just remember that, please !!..

Having religion around is so much easier sometimes, and probably your parents have the same beliefs as you do. And rejecting religion in some way means rejecting your parents, which is very hard….But remember, taking your position is still very selfish thing to do, despite all that.!!!

What I love about documentaries is reading negative reviews on them. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Christian, Atheist, Liberal, or Conservative documentary but the critics who don’t like it always call it “propaganda”. Isn’t the purpose of the documentary to push you towards the maker’s thought belief and bully you with facts that refute the opposing side’s opinion? As far as I am considered that makes every documentary propaganda. I know that some documentaries claim to just be showing the truth on a subject, but let’s face it; they all have an agenda. In the same sense it’s notorious of documentaries to leave out facts in order to support their view. I wasn’t surprised when they did it in King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, and I won’t be surprised by any other documentary that does it either. That makes Expelled a propaganda because it completely skews and ignores facts on the ground in favor of a controversy that doesn’t exist. The filmmakers engaged in deceptive interview tactics. It is a waste of time.

    Now,
look at the diversity of humans around the globe. Hair, teeth, skin, and even internal organs have evolved to allow this species to adapt to its environment.

    Species evolve, or they vanish.
Like the old saying: How intelligent can the design be, really. Have you even looked in a mirror while naked. Who would put a playground next to a waste disposal.

Lighten up, we are still far too primative to comprehend the answers. And besides, who in the hell would be drawn to any movie starring Ben Stiller (except for Ferris Bueller).

What you are all really asking: “Has the Bible been proven wrong?” “Do you take it as the Word Of God? Or not?” “Do you decide, (or allow the overseers of your religion to decide), what parts of the Bible you should believe or disbelieve?”

“Ultimately, we all want to know, is there a heaven? And more importantly, is there a hell?” Forget about the evolution for a second, what about your BEING? “Did your soul just happen to come into your body and not Michael Jordan’s?” “If it didn’t just happen, where did your soul come from?”

To answer any of these questions requires faith. Faith in what is, or faith in what isn’t. Now, I can understand why someone who believes in the Bible would want to convince others to ask themselves, “Who will save their soul?” What I can’t understand is why someone who doesn’t believe in God, Heaven, and Hell, tend to get even more excited about convincing others towards their faith???

Evolution? The Big Bang? We, as a species, have not, yet, evolved to the point where we are capable of answering those questions. We are in the same relative position as those who invented the concept of gods, in the first place: ignorance, in the sense that we simply lack the knowledge, coupled with an insatiable desire for that knowledge, combine to produce an atmosphere where any plausible theory is acceptable.

Is what we believe to be the absolute truth, now, actually true?
    Who knows – probably not.

If we learn something new, tomorrow, that completely negates what we believe, today, will we bury our heads in the sand and refute the accuracy of the new information simply because it doesn’t conform to our current beliefs?
Boy, I hope not. That’s the way of Religion.

The way of Science is to say, “Oh, so this is what’s true, now? Okay, gotcha.”, and life moves on, from there.

A common attack tactic employed by Religion against Science is to run through the laundry list of past scientific “beliefs” that have, since then, been dis-proven. A Scientist looks at that, perplexed, and says, “Yeah, sure… based on the available information, that IS what we believed to be true, yesterday. So what? Today, we have new information. We accept this new information, for what it is, and make adjustments, as needed, throughout the the entire realm of what we believe to be true. That’s the way Science works.”
Religion responds with, “Okay, then, show me proof about something that no one was around to see (The Big Bang).”
Science = “Well, what would you accept as proof? Some words, written in a book, by someone who claims to have been there? Would that be good enough for you?”
Religion = “Of course! That’s what we base our entire belief system on.”
Science, then, turns around, grabs a notebook and a pen, and starts scribbling.
Religion soon finds itself out of arguments.

    Oh, if only…

Oh, yeah… the movie looks mildly interesting.

    @65 MixJif

I think people and politics are the problem. Together they breed fundamentalism in religion and science.

    @70 SholVah

What’s more important to religion: proof or faith?

You see, science answers questions about how things work and what things are through the assumption-centered hypothesis which teaches that an unobservable principle is responsible for speciation and order through random alterations, but it cannot answer the questions of greater meaning that scientific discoveries may point to. That is the realm of the scientific philosophers.

Since we’ll never fully understand the act of nature, the life-line of science thrives on the blood of today’s experiments of tomorrow and will come up with some reason to put in the books, but in the end, it’ll be just a theory. We often fail to acknowledge that there are forces at work beyond our understanding so to be a good scientist, we must have a respectful awe for the laws of nature.

Science, like government, has to learn what it’s good at and what it’s bad at. When it doesn’t have a good enough edge — say, when a scientist doesn’t have nearly enough information — it should just admit that it doesn’t have a solution and move on. The need for tidy packaged solutions causes many problems. Unless science works in a worldview that has room for real mystery — not merely the categories of knowledge and ignorance — it’s always going to wind up making foolish mistakes out of arrogance.

Hey all, here’s a bit of explanation on theories:
    http://wilstar.com/theories.htm

quote: THEORY: A theory is more like a scientific law than a hypothesis. A theory is an explanation of a set of related observations or events based upon proven hypotheses and verified multiple times by detached groups of researchers. One scientist cannot create a theory; he can only create a hypothesis.

A theory is like the automobile. Components of it can be changed or improved upon, without changing the overall truth of the theory as a whole.

In general, both a scientific theory and a scientific law are accepted to be true by the scientific community as a whole. Both are used to make predictions of events. Both are used to advance technology.

The biggest difference between a law and a theory is that a theory is much more complex and dynamic. A law governs a single action, whereas a theory explains an entire group of related phenomena.

Development of a Simple Theory by the Scientific Method:

    * Observation: Every swan I’ve ever seen is white.
    * Hypothesis: All swans must be white.
    * Test: A random sampling of swans from each continent where swans are indigenous produces only white swans.
    * Publication: “My global research has indicated that swans are always white, wherever they are observed.”
    * Verification: Every swan any other scientist has ever observed in any country has always been white.
    * Theory: All swans are white.

Prediction: The next swan I see will be white.

  72. Angry_Games
    October 14th, 2008 | 06:14

forgot to add this last bit from the page so before you comment on the above post, read the rest:

Note, however, that although the prediction is useful, the theory does not absolutely prove that the next swan I see will be white. Thus it is said to be falsifiable. If anyone ever saw a black swan, the theory would have to be tweaked or thrown out. (And yes, there are really black swans. This example was just to illustrate the point.)

Real scientific theories must be falsifiable. So-called “theories” based on religion, such as creationism or intelligent design are, therefore, not scientific theories. They are not falsifiable and they do not follow the scientific method.

I won’t try to change anyone’s opinion, but seriously, most of the anti-religious/anti-intelligent design crowd here seem to be spewing the same old rhetoric from 200 years ago that has been debunked countless times…. and conveniently ignored by evolutionists. Briefly allow me to illuminate just 2 items which 99.9% of people don’t know the real information.

    1. Everything was created in 6 24 hour days.

At no time and in no way is there any hint, allusion, mention or reference to a period of 24 hours. The bible merely states god created everything in 6 periods of time he referred to as ‘days’. Therefore there is nothing to say 1 such ‘day’ could not be millions of years in duration.

    2. The Earth is 6000 years old.

Again, there is no biblical passage which attributes the age of the Earth as 6000 years. What there IS reference to is that HUMANS as we know them (homo-sapiens) have only existed for 6000 years. If you doubt this, it contains a full genealogy up to the birth of Jesus Christ and ages for those forefathers anyone can read it for themselves.

No doubt the rabid athiests/evolutionists have already turned off but hopefully some read and it will prick your curiosity.

As a curtain call, why has no animal in recorded history evolved into something else.. they just go extinct, they don’t miraculously mutate to adapt to changing environments.

I don’t know what the big argument is about. Everyone knows that we were created by an intelligent creator. Millions of years ago an alien species developed the ability to create life, unsatisfied with their early attempt but possessing to much compassion towards their failures they propelled their experiment into space. Millenniums later the experiment crashed into earth, in the process killing all the dinosaurs. I don’t know how you guys all missed this in your history textbooks… jeesh.

    ———
So provide one @44, or are you going to flasp your lips all day making you think you actually said something important? Ignorant f%^knut, I NEVER SAID I believed in a God now did I? I said I could not prove one existed, just like you cannot prove evolution exist. So maybe instead of acting like you are an educator, you should pull your head out of your arse and actually READ what was posted!

Neil@45, You said What scientists DO is try to find evidence for this theory. That is my whole point. While the ID people cannot find nor prove that their religion is factual, neither can so called “experts” like the dipstick above you @44, prove evolution exists either. You are saying the exact same thing I did.

Ok @58 ropeyHead, you stated “Oh and for the record, evolution is both a theory and a fact. Try reading once in awhile.” Now this shows exactly how STUPID your statement is. If something is a “fact” then that means it has been proven beyond all shadow of a doubt. If something is a “theory” then that means that is what some think it is but so far have NOT been able to prove it. You cannot have it both ways dweeb!

@57 JerryMander, STILL waiting for you to provide ONE documented case of proof of evolution instead of flapping your gums like a gassy windbag. Popping off all the time and yet not helping your case any.

@65, you have GOT to be kidding with that statement of “must we forget that Religion in general has caused more deaths than any other cause in the existence of the earth?” Are you even IN reality? What about Poppa Doc-Pol Pot-Shek-Jong-Stalin-Castro-Vietnam-China and Japan unification wars-European Unification wars where different countries tried to force others to unite under THEIR rulership-Arab Jihads against each other and themselves-Italy’s Blood debts-Tribal wars in Africa and South America…are you trying to say that ALL of this did not kill more in human history then anything else?

Really Brigs? You say “Show you one species that has evolved from another…HUMANS!!!It isn’t called the theory of evolution by academics any longer…it’s accepted as fact.” Accepted by WHO? In the Smithsonian Museum they have a nice golden chunk of metal that was found in a Tenn coal mine. The age of the coal was listed by all tests as 2.2 million years old. The problem? is that this metal was MACHINED!!! Now according to you evolutionists, Mankind did not even leave Africa till 100,000 years ago..so who made this metal? In California in 1978 they dug a mine in the northern part of the state, and at UCLA they have the results. They dug down a good mile into the earth and came upon a chamber that had HUMAN remains in it. The only problem was that the chamber had only one way in and that was the way they came through seemless rock and the dating on the rocks showed to be over 2 million years old..so who where these people?

All of you who pray at the Church of Evolution have just had your whole arguments shot to he!! and destroyed without much sweat. How can you believe in something you cannot defend with any degree of the facts?

Great discussion guys and one can tell that a great deal of emotion is being flung on both sides. Intelligent Design was a creation of an ultra right Christian think tank that understood attempting to push for the teaching of Creationism in American schools’ science curriculum could not fly. The court case presided over by a judge appointed by Pres Bush himself could not win for ID proponents the right to force ID into the classroom. According to the ruling of the court it was ‘Bad Science’ with no basis of support. The reason why ID is not taught in mainstream North American schools is because the theory of Intelligent Design has no corroborative evidence. Persons who believe in and push for ID do so out of faith and to further a right wing religious agenda. They want the rest of us to believe in it too, ( or might we just end up in hell? ).
As for evolutionary theory more fossils of more species are being discovered regularly. Gaps in the evolutionary tree are being filled. Can an advocate of ID point to a single instance of a discovery that actually supports their side? If there is a God He must be laughing.

So c’mon you high priests of evolution, if this is a fact either man up and show one animal that has evolved into another, or stop flapping your gums as you are creating a draft and not saying anything. #43 common sense (October 13th, 2008 | 20:20):

    | For all you haters, prove that evolution exists. Show me
    | one species that has evolved into another..name me one
    | time that an ape has had a human baby, or human that has
    | an ape child.

Your understanding of evolution is unfortunately rather poor. The evidence you ask for is in fact a straw man. Evolutionary theory does not state that one species suddenly gives birth to another existing species. It doesn’t even state that one species suddenly gives birth to a completely new species. Evolution is a slow and gradual process.

If you want evidence of evolution (science does not deal with “proof”), pick up a book on the subject and educate yourself. One good example is ERVs, Endogenous Retroviruses. They are located in the exact same place in the genome in several completely different species. This “just happens” to coincide with their relationship in the evolutionary tree. The only possible explanation is that they share a common ancestor.

    | Even Darwin stated that he could not prove that evolution
    | existed, that it was a theory as it could not be proved.

Darwin did not state that, but you don’t “prove” scientific theories. You gather data and see if the theory matches all known data. 150 years later, evolution is still supported by all facts and contradicted by none.

    | And just remember, dogs changing is not evolution nor is
    | domesticating cows, that is called selective breeding

Actually, domestic selective breeding uses the same concept as natural selection does in nature: Life changes over time. What changes survive is determined by the environment, or the breeder.

    # evolution is a theory and cannot be proven. Most would
    # say the same thing about religion. How are they

Science does not deal with proof, only with evidence. And all evidence supports evolution. Science and religion are different because science deals with empirical evidence, while religion is blind faith.

    # You believe in your theory, I’ll believe in mine.

Except religion is not the same as a scientific theory. A scientific theory incorporates all known facts and explains them all. It is based on actual empirical evidence.

Religion is not even a hypothesis. It is wild speculation.

    # The only proof scientists offer for evolution is
    # empirical. Well, this is the same proof I can offer for
    # religion.

No. There is no empirical evidence for religion. For the evidence to be valid, it needs to be independently verifiable. All scientific evidence is independently verifiable. Claims like “I felt God in my heart” is not.

    # and Intelligent Design has just as much scientific
    # evidence to back it up as evolution.

It does not. In fact, well known ID representative Paul Nelson actually admitted this:

“Easily the biggest challenge facing the ID community is to develop a full-fledged theory of biological design. We don’t have such a theory right now, and that’s a problem. Without a theory, it’s very hard to know where to direct your research focus.”

    # Both evolution and the big bang theory are theories
    # which means they have yet to be proven.

Your knowledge is lacking. First of all, science deals with evidence, not proof. Secondly, “just a theory” is a huge misunderstanding:

    http://www.notjustatheory.com/

“In science, a theory is not a guess, not a hunch. It’s a well-substantiated, well-supported, well-documented explanation for our observations. It ties together all the facts about something, providing an explanation that fits all the observations and can be used to make predictions. In science, theory is the ultimate goal, the explanation. It’s as close to proven as anything in science can be.”

    # Darwin himself said that his theories came straight out
    # of a science fiction dream he had

    He did not.

    # and they are finding major flaws in all of his research.

This is incorrect. A hypothesis is merely the first step towards becoming a theory (the ultimate goal of science). Evolution is a full-fledged scientific theory based on actual observations:

    # work beyond our understanding so to be a good scientist,
    # we must have a respectful awe for the laws of nature.

No, you are getting it wrong again. The whole REASON science exists is that we don’t know stuff. Science is about figuring it out!

If we knew everything, science would not exist.

To be a good scientist, you must be able to admit that we don’t know, and be curious enough to try to figure it out instead of resorting to “God did it”.

    # Science, like government, has to learn what it’s good at
    # and what it’s bad at. When it doesn’t have a good enough
    # edge — say, when a scientist doesn’t have nearly enough
    # information — it should just admit that it doesn’t have
    # a solution and move on.

You are getting it wrong AGAIN!

When a scientist doesn’t have enough information he DOES admit that! And he keeps looking for information. THIS IS HOW SCIENCE WORKS!

    # why has no animal in recorded history evolved into
    # something else.. they just go extinct, they don’t
    # miraculously mutate to adapt to changing environments.

I’m afraid you are mistaken. There are many observed examples of speciation. For example, scientists observed a group of moths near a city. As pollution increased, trees became darker. The until then bright moths gradually changed to a darker color because the lighter ones were easier prey for birds.

So yes, they did indeed adapt because of mutation and natural selection (birds picking off lighter moths).

It seems that you need to educate yourself a bit!

    # In California in 1978 they dug a mine in the northern
    # part of the state, and at UCLA they have the results.
    # They dug down a good mile into the earth and came upon a
    # chamber that had HUMAN remains in it. The only problem
    # was that the chamber had only one way in and that was the
    # way they came through seemless rock and the dating on the
    # rocks showed to be over 2 million years old..so who where
    # these people?

I don’t know. Do you? I have heard about similar stories from creationists before. In every single case I was able to identify, the creationist (i.e. YOU) was lying.

Scientists had indeed explained the “problem”. The creationist just left that part out.

If you can give me more info on this cave, I can try to look it up for you, in case you are honestly looking to educate yourself.

Wait a minute… You are saying that these hoaxes that WERE EXPOSED BY SCIENTISTS are somehow relevant to the discussion?

The only thing you prove by posting these is that you are desperate to smear science, and you are not realizing that IT WAS SCIENTISTS WHO EXPOSED THESE HOAXES I THE FIRST PLACE, and of course.

NO SCIENTIST TODAY CLAIM THESE TO BE EVIDENCE OF EVOLUTION, seeing as they were exposed as hoaxes and all.

    # So here is proof that evolution does not exist as fact
    # and only as theory

Your “proof” is a bunch of things that were exposed by scientists as hoaxes? Nice one.

As for “only a theory”, read this:

    http://www.notjustatheory.com/

“In science, a theory is not a guess, not a hunch. It’s a well-substantiated, well-supported, well-documented explanation for our observations. It ties together all the facts about something, providing an explanation that fits all the observations and can be used to make predictions. In science, theory is the ultimate goal, the explanation. It’s as close to proven as anything in science can be.”

It is very important, imho, that the churches get a hold of young minds, before they learn those “critical thinking skills” the ID’ers are always talking about. Indoctrination I believe it is called. Once a person is convinced of something, even though they believe for no logical reason, they are good at finding people and “facts” that agree with them. And reject opposing ideas.

They tried implementing ID in my kids school district. I wouldn’t really have a problem teaching ID in public schools, except it belongs in a World Religion or Philosophy class setting and not a science class. Any “science”
that has to rely on a supernatural agent (god) to explain things is by definition NOT a science.

And this silly notion flying around that religion is the solitary source of ethics and morality. That an atheist is somehow less moral than a religious person, total nonsense.
Morality in children has been observed well before any possible understanding of religious dogma.

I think the atheist point of view that religion is hurting the human species as a whole may have merit. Kind of scary to have such a massive population of people living their lives with the total delusion that there is an invisible wizard in the sky.

Oh, BTW, it is arrogant as hell to think that “he/she is smart so they must think my way.” Obviously there is no intelligence involved in the realm of faith and religion.

Go ahead and persecute me, I’m a believer. Obviously, I’m not perfect, as I download movies illegally, but you don’t HAVE to be perfect to be a believer, or to be saved. Why is there so much hatred displayed here.

gee, amazing how many people there are that seem to not be able to understand that God is the One that designed all natural things on earth. but then again, i’m not surprised at all by this, because God’s Word does say that His Word is foolishness to the world. it’s a shame that there are so many on this message board that hate God so vehemently, when all He has ever wanted anyone here to know is how much He loves you all. your hatred of God isn’t going to make Him not love you either, so all of this God-bashing isn’t doing you any good. you’re never going to be more right than God, so you might as well stop trying to be, and you’re never going to make God’s Word not be true in every situation. i personally want to see this movie for no other reason than to see a bunch of atheistic people fall flat on their faces in light of the truths that ben stein stands for, which are all found in the Word of God. if that makes me a terrible person, then so be it, but at least i’m not the one trying to beat up on God.

    @100 snakedog
This is incorrect. A hypothesis is merely the first step towards becoming a theory (the ultimate goal of science). Evolution is a full-fledged scientific theory based on actual observations:

    http://www.notjustatheory.com/

“In everyday use, theory means a guess or a hunch, something that maybe needs proof. In science, a theory is not a guess, not a hunch. It’s a well-substantiated, well-supported, well-documented explanation for our observations. It ties together all the facts about something, providing an explanation that fits all the observations and can be used to make predictions. In science, theory is the ultimate goal, the explanation. It’s as close to proven as anything in science can be.”

Also, evolution is not just “random alterations”. You seem to have forgotten about natural selection. Or were you ignorant of it?
No, I was just being an ass.

Not JUST a theory. TRIUMPHANTLY a theory. Theories are what make science useful!
So just triumphantly a theory — so what? My point still stands scientifically.

Yet there are still flawed people who are bad scientists.

You are getting it wrong AGAIN!

When a scientist doesn’t have enough information he DOES admit that! And he keeps looking for information. THIS IS HOW SCIENCE WORKS!

Then why does science sometimes tend to not follow their own rules of positivism? Because sometimes scientists become desperate.

    October 24th, 2008 | 03:25

graphicartist2k5, what are you talking about, “you’re never going to be more right than God, so you might as well stop trying to be, and you’re never going to make God’s Word not be true in every situation”? I’m not sure but it sounds like you think Jesus is god? is that what you think? If so you need to start thinking for yourself and think critically! You really believe that with all the religions and all of the gods that anyone is right? I know a few Christians that think they are right and I think they are ignorant!
And for the Darwinists/atheists on here, the question still stands as was asked by Ben Stein, “What created the big bang”? I guess you would say the big bang evolved too right,JK. I agree things evolved, the universe is old, there was a big bang, but I question what created that big bang and what created the thing that created the big bang?
And could the fact that brown bears and polar bears are mating now be an example of evolution/survival of the fittest as I like to call it?

I teach science in the UK and it is terrifying how little a lot of you posters know and understand about science and the massive amount of evidence we have for evolution (by natural selection) whether it’s the hundreds of thousands of fossil remains or multitude of genetic studies that have linked all living things on this planet.

Evolution itself is an observable fact – artificial selection, microbial mutation causing resistance to antibiotics, the ongoing development of ‘ring’ species such as the herring/lesser black-backed gull complex.

Please use all the available information/evidence to come to a conclusion. I read the bible when I was young and, because of peer pressure, believed for a short while. Then I grew up and realised that there was no evidence to support anything the bible says. I also found out that Santa was a myth too.

    Time to grow up people.
